Create warm memories with NA P C P ...
A new year is here and NAPCP has already kicked off the year with an amazing and productive
event! A couple of short weeks ago we came together in person and virtually, planned our respective 2018s, and motivated each other for the coming months. As the encouragement and words of affirmation continue in our NAPCP Member Community and Marketing Summit 2018 Facebook Groups, we know this year is going to be an awesome one for our association.
Now home and settling back into our daily routines (or creating new ones!), we’re positively
beaming, and excited to share the details of NAPCP’s first ever marketing summit! The pages ahead are bursting with inspirational and joy-filled summit highlights for all of you to take in, savor, and be energized by. If you missed out this month, don’t worry -- there is so much to come in 2018 and yes, we are already planning for 2019 ... so start thinking and planning ahead!
If you have your sights set on NAPCP’s coveted Photographer of the Year honor or placing
in our International Image Competition this year, NAPCP’s 2018 International Image Competition opens Monday, February 5th! Submissions will be accepted through Thursday, February 22nd. The artists behind the placing and merited images will be awarded with Photographer of the Year points, medallions, priority directory listings, serious bragging rights, and more!
This month we also want to extend a sincere thank you to the generous sponsors of our 2018
Marketing Summit, as well as NAPCP’s 2017 Ambassadors. NAPCP Ambassadors are literally the eyes, ears, and face of our global association, kindling personal relationships and connections on a local level, and we wouldn’t want to do any of this without them! If you would like to help NAPCP make 2018 our best year yet, the NAPCP Ambassador application process will be opening soon. Watch your Inboxes and the NAPCP Member Community Facebook Group for the announcement.
Keep reading for freebies, Valentine’s Day goodies and marketing, and a deeper look at what’s
new and up-and-coming to NAPCP. Stay warm!
Welcome, 2018! The NAPCP Team

Park Studios is a 1000-square-foot natural light studio and creative space in the heart of Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. It was here in this historic East Coast neighborhood that NAPCP members and fellow creatives came together for NAPCP’s first marketing summit. The NAPCP team took in all that members had to say on last year’s member survey and produced a tight-knit event focused on what matters to our association. We shelved our traditional format in favor of an immersive experience for those attending the summit both in-person and virtually. We all agree that we found some major “marketing mojo” thanks to our amazing speakers, Jenna Martin (of Jenna Martin Photography), and photographer and writer Anne Simone! Together, we are all feeling more confident in our social media prowess! Continue reading as we review NAPCP’s energizing and exciting 2018 Marketing Summit.
WELCOME RECEP TION
Our 2018 Marketing Summit began with a fantastic welcome reception at our very own NAPCP headquarters at Park Studios. Attendees were able to meet our keynote speaker, Jenna Martin, and one another, too. Despite the cold and snowy weather causing a few delays and hiccoughs, each NAPCP Marketing Summit attendee, speaker, and team member who made it to the reception had a marvelous time. Those who were unable to attend the welcome reception due to the frosty air were dearly missed!

ONE
Summit attendees were welcomed by NAPCP Co-Founder Alice Park, and NAPCP Marketing Director Crystal James, who reviewed the attendees’ 2018 Marketing Guides, which were designed for paramount business and personal success. For those who were unable to attend the summit (whether in-person or virtually), and all other creatives and entrepreneurs who wish to take advantage of our tailored-to-you annual planner, the Marketing Guide is available in the NAPCP Store as a part of our 2018 Marketing Package.
Our main event was Jenna Martin’s class on social media marketing. Before and after our delicious Mexican lunch, Jenna delivered to us her tips and tricks for marketing one’s business and “beating the algorithms” of social media. Among other

subtopics, Jenna delved into paid aids and encouraged and inspired all of us to be authentic in our business strategies and marketing!
Supplementing Jenna’s discussion on authenticity, Anne Simone (sponsored by ShootProof) spoke to summit attendees on “Being Your Authentic Self”. Anne told her own, very personal story of moving to authenticity in her writing. Although she initially lost some clients, she gained new clients who had similar points of view. Eventually, this decision helped Anne land her current job at ShootProof! Anne’s speech was an absolute smash, leaving not a dry eye in the studio.
Thank you to our speakers!

PIN
Our eclectic group of attendees and speakers came together for a party at the Painted Pin. Between appetizers and drinks we all got to know each other a little better! The sounds of our summit group’s laughter filled the venue as we socialized and all tried to “school” one another with some friendly bowling competition.

summit attendees in goal setting and assisted the group in starting to fill out their marketing binders. Attendees shared their best and most successful marketing ideas with their fellow creatives; many shared workflows that work for them, in hopes of helping other photographers in attendance. Summit attendees also bravely shared their big picture big dreams and the steps they can take this year to move toward their castles in the air! We are incredibly proud of the communal atmosphere of each and every NAPCP event!

4 Styles of Photography Explained There are many different styles of photography, and if you aren’t familiar with them, it can be hard to know if a photographer’s style is right for you when considering them for your family portraits. It is also useful to know a bit about the photography style you gravitate towards so that you can communicate your vision to your photographer. Here are four of the most common styles of photography used in family portraits. Read more.
Meet Erika Rigger: Before starting my photography business Erika was an art director in Advertising for 10+ years. I took a break to have my son and never went back! I decided to use my love of children, Art and Photography to pursue my dream of owning my own business.
