Testimonial: “It is with pleasure that I recommend Paul and Allzones Roofing Services. We encountered a problem at our residence over the last winter during the large snowfall with an ingress of water in two dormer window areas. We requested quotes from two well known roofing companies and were told we require a completely new roof at an exorbitant sum of money. Thank goodness we had someone refer us to Paul. He identified the problem as being poorly fitted felt and loose tiles which were pushed up by the snowfall & freezing weather. He and his men attended immediately and corrected the situation at a fraction of the cost quoted by the previous two companies It is truly wonderful to meet a tradesman who is not only extremely honest but very proud of the work he performs. I am quite confident that any who employs this company will be very pleased with the final result.” Yours truly, Richard Reuss Independent Business Consultant Forest Row

Beer this in Mind surplus for extra money. Later the practise of beer making was dominated by the church, mainly, the Catholic Church. Gruit was primarily a combination of three herbs: Sweet gale (Myrica gale), Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), and Marsh rosemary (Ledum palustre). Although other plants were used or sometimes solely one of the above, gruit was primarily made from those three plants. In fact, for at least 60,000 years, ancient and indigenous cultures throughout the world used these herbs as medicine and also as mild inebriants and sexual stimulants. So where did the use hops originate from and how did it come to dominate beer making?
Throughout history there has always been a fine line in the distinction of food or medicine. In fact, historically, more often than not there can be no distinction at all. The administration of herbal medicine in traditional cultures was not always in the form of a tea or infusion. Ancient recipes contained many foraged plants, that when processed in combination had an effect that was more than the sum of its parts. These recipes for decoctions and food were developed over millennia and so did the recipes for fermenting herbs with sugar into an alcoholic beverage. First man discovered fermented honey (mead), and then he learnt to make beer. Every ancient culture had their own type of beer, which unbelievably, more often than not were considered to be sacred drinks! The source of sugar and the plants are as varied as the drinks themselves. The origins of beer and ale are rooted in very ancient cultures, as far back and even further than the Ancient Egyptians. The difference between our ancestors beers and the modern beers we drink today is the herbs which are added to give beer its bitter taste. Ancient beers were known in Europe as gruit. Gruits did not contain hops. Amazingly enough as history goes, hops is a very modern addition to the beer making process. In fact, it only gained dominance in about 1750 AD. The beers of old were mainly made by women and the herbal plants were foraged and gathered locally. Beer and foraging were as intertwined as spring and blossoms. Before the industrial revolution, beer making was a small scale, cottage practise. Households would make their own and sell a small
Hops was already known and used in herbal medicine for its sedative and antibacterial properties. In fact it was believed, that if you couldn’t sleep at night, placing hops under your pillow would assist in combating insomnia. It had been used before in making beer but the original gruit herbs were preferred by brewers. In about 1530 in Germany the Reformed Protestant Church was appalled by the behaviour of Catholic clergy and their self-indulgence: in food, drink, and lavish life style. The thing with gruit was, the more you drank the more wild you became. So the Protestants pushed for a law to come into effect that all beer be made with only hops. With hopped beer, the more you drank the sleepier and impotent you became. Much easier to control the masses hey? Helped by merchants and competing royals, eager to break the Catholic Churches monopoly of the beer market, the Protestant Church was able to change the law and so changed the face of beer making forever. So in true foragers style I have been researching and reviving some of these old gruit recipes and having a go at literally tasting history. I can tell you that the gruit beers are nothing like I have experienced before with a wonderful herbal, bitterness and a complexity of flavour. The beauty of it is that every batch is different and the variations endless. By Andrew Mcfarlane Acuvital Acupuncture Clinic, East Grinstead, Tel: 07841209746, twitter: @acuvital

Who would you trust to make decisions on your behalf? It’s always difficult to think about what would happen if you were affected by a serious life changing event such as having a stroke, a long term illness or an accident, or maybe developing dementia. The impact can be devastating. What would happen if you lost full control of your physical or mental capability? At present, your loved ones would not be able to access your money if they needed to pay for your care or to make sure you kept up to date with any financial obligations you may have, such as mortgage, loans etc. To ensure that your financial commitments could be maintained your spouse or family would need to apply through a court, which can take a long time and be a very costly business. However, if you already had a Lasting Power of Attorney in place this could relieve some of the pressure and anxiety of an already distressing situation. A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that allows you to appoint one or more people, be it a spouse, family members or trusted friends, to help you make decisions on your behalf.
power is only invoked when you cannot make your own decisions. The second type, the Property and Financial Affairs LPA, gives your loved ones or trusted friend the ability to make decisions about money and property for you, such as managing a bank or building society account, paying bills, collecting benefits or a pension, selling your home. This Lasting Power of Attorney can be used as soon as it’s registered, with your permission. It is tempting to put off thinking about an LPA until you are faced with such a change in your circumstances.
Neil Naismith, director of the Estate Planning Consultancy based in East Grinstead, advises that you can set up an LPA at any time, but YOU choose when it can be used.
But as Neil Naismith reminds us “Once you have lost capacity, it is too late to set up a Power of Attorney as these can only be set up when you have full mental and physical capacity. Don’t leave it too late”.
When is a good time to set up an LPA? A good time to consider putting an LPA in place is when setting out or updating your will. You can state within the LPA when it should come into effect – that can be either before, or only if you were to lose mental capacity.
For more information on Lasting Powers of Attorney and how to set one up go to www. epcltd.org.uk/lasting-powers-of-attorney or you can call Neil Naismith from the Estate Planning Consultancy for a free no obligation consultation on 0844 576 3165.
Neil Naismith also advises that “it is also important to know that this can be implemented only as a temporary measure too, if needed. For example, if you fell in to a coma, your nominee would start looking after you affairs. However, if you wake from the coma, you would be able to start making decisions again.”
The Estate Planning Consultancy is locally based business in East Grinstead offering a full range of services to ensure the protection of you and your legacy underpinned by a professional and bespoke personal service.
There are two types of LPAs you can set up. A health and welfare LPA gives your nominated person the power to make decisions about things like your medical care, your daily routine, care home arrangements and life sustaining arrangements. This

NEW, A MUST-VISIT!
A Community presents: The West Hoathly Country Show This inaugural country show takes place on Saturday 6th June, 10am-5.30pm. Here one of the organisers explains how it has come to fruition: When thinking about our summer fundraising event, West Hoathly School Association (PTA) wanted to try something other than the traditional school summer fête. In conjunction with Dan Mans from the Seasoned Sausage Company, who is a member of Young Farmers and frequents shows with his catering trailer, we came up with the idea of a Country Show. The ethos behind the show is to provide the local community with an affordable, educational and fun day out, whilst raising funds for the village school and some local charities who helped with the show. Many families are unable to afford to go to the larger and more established country shows, so we aim to offer an alternative. Therefore entry to the show and parking are FREE, but donations on entry are welcome to help our fundraising efforts. Being situated in the heart of a village provides a unique opportunity for the school to build strong links with the local community. This country show would not have been possible without the involvement of and collaboration between the School Association and a very supportive village community. On Friday 5th June, the night before the show, the Cat and Fox pubs will jointly be opening the bar in the beer tent from 7pm to 11pm and Mitch Feral and Moveable Feast will be playing from 8pm. Again, entry is free but donations are welcome to cover the band costs. On Saturday 6th June, there is a full timetable of events in the main arena, including a fun dog show, tug of war, welly-wanging, fly fishing demonstration,
bird of prey displays, etc. Live music will be playing all day in the beer tent or if you prefer a quieter drink, the cream tea tent will have an array of sweet delights. There will be traditional and rural craft demonstrations to watch around the show ground, including the Woodland Centres’ amazing chainsaw carving demonstrations and you can bid for the finished products. The Young Farmers will be holding their very popular terrier racing and you can have a go at ferret racing or handling a ferret at the Gem Ferret Care Group stall. You can also walk with llamas from the Llama Park and if you’re thinking about keeping chickens at home, you can buy one at the show! If you fancy a bit of shopping, there will be over 70 stalls to browse, including country clothing and shooting accessories, art and crafts, food and drink, jewellery, health and skin products, games and much more. For something a little different, the Pericles Theatre Company, who are performing at the Brighton Fringe Festival, will be putting on their “Tale of the Pig” production in the village hall. The Friends of West Hoathly Churchyard will also be conducting guided tours of the churchyard. For children, there will be a bouncy castle, slide, and inflatable archery, the East Grinstead Model Engineers railway, lots of games stalls, animals to see, a trail competition in the show programme with prizes, face painting, tug of war, welly wanging, best child handler class in the dog show, ice-cream and sweet stalls, etc. For more information, please visit the show website: westhoathlycountryshow.moonfruit.com. The Annual Ashurst Raft Race returns 1pm Sunday 7th June 2015 In the small village of Ashurst, between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells, the famous Ashurst Raft Race will take place again this year on Sunday 7th June. This traditional fun and ‘sporting’ family day was revived last year and coincided with a blazing hot sunny June day. Hundreds of happy spectators attended to enjoy a great family day out. In the early 70’s Ashurst & Blackham Sports Association decided to build a new pavilion built with money borrowed from local families to replace the old wooden cricket pavilion. The Raft Race event was ‘launched’ to raise funds to repay these loans. In 2006, the field with pavilion was sold. The cricket team had disbanded through lack of playing members and the successful football team could not alone afford the ground maintenance costs and moved away. For 5 years the gates were locked and no sport took place in the village.
The ground came back to auction in 2011 and possession of the ground was regained. The purchase price was raised entirely by voluntary contributions from local residents helped by a substantial donation from the Ashurst McDermott Village Hall Trust. They are once more raising funds, this time towards a traditional oak framed building that will blend in well with the lovely location besides the River Medway. So they’ll be another great family day out: dog show, meet the donkeys, bounce on the bouncy castle, play beat the goalie. Browse the book and bric-abrac stalls, see the model airplanes and classic cars and much more. Ashurst & Blackham Sports Ground is on the A264 between Blackham and Ashurst at the rail bridge traffic lights, TN3 9TJ.
Marshals at Midnight Walk As East Grinstead is a fantastic supporter of St Catherine’s, they are appealing to the town for volunteers to help out at the their biggest fundraiser of the year. Could you or someone you know be one of their magnificent Midnight Walk marshals? St. Catherine’s annual Midnight Walk is an exciting, carnival-themed evening that will be bursting into Horsham Park on Saturday 27th June from 10.30pm. Volunteer marshals play a vital role on the night by making sure all our walkers are safe and most importantly, having fun during the lively, night time challenge. The ‘ladies only walk’ sees women tackle a seven, 13 or brand new 20 mile walking route around Horsham Park. The hospice needs people to help marshal, give out refreshments and register ladies as they arrive at the walk. In return, St Catherine’s will provide a light breakfast and refreshments to keep you going. Louise Brown, Events Fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “Our Midnight Walk is the perfect way to kickstart your summer with Brazilian entertainment, carnival costumes and an energetic atmosphere not to be missed! Now in its eighth year, the fundraiser helps St Catherine’s raise vital funds to continue 12
to provide free care for terminally ill people across Horsham, Crawley, Mid Sussex and East Surrey. “Last year, more than 500 women took part, collectively raising over £65,000. This year, we’re aiming to raise even more. But we can’t do it without our magnificent marshals. By giving your time, you’ll be helping us to provide care and comfort to local people facing the devastating diagnosis of a terminal illness, as well as support to their loved ones. We can’t add days to life but with your help we can add life to precious days.” If you or someone else you know would like to volunteer at this fun-packed fundraiser, please call 01293 447364 or email michaelaclements@ stch.org.uk for more details.

The History of Gravetye Manor Local Iron Master Richard Infield built Gravetye Manor in 1598 for his bride, Katherine Compton. The initials ‘R’ and ‘K’ may be seen in the stone over the main entrance door from the formal garden, and the portraits of Richard and Katherine are carved in oak over the fireplace in one of the bedrooms. His father had bought Gravetye land about 1570, a year before he died and Richard inherited the estate when he was only three. The Infields were a prosperous family who lived in this part of Sussex, not only did they have considerable landholdings, they were also wealthy ironmasters. Building Gravetye meant they were able to emphasise their rank in society and their new-found wealth which the flourishing iron industry had brought them. They

designed a house with a plan in a new style very different from the timber framed houses of their predecessors. The front porch was later added by Richards son-in-law Henry Faulkener, a barrister, some 40 or so years later. The original house does not seem to have been altered from that time up until the late 19th century when it was bought by the distinguished gardener William Robinson in 1884. He demolished the North East service wing and built a large new guest wing and servant’s rooms to replace it. He also made some significant alterations in the adjacent parts of the main block including re-sitting the main staircase. The house is an important example of a double pile house, i.e. a house built two rooms deep for a member of the gentry rather than a single range

dwelling favoured by the yeoman at this date. This fine house was built on a steep south facing slope overlooking some of Richard Infield’s iron workings. There is still a 16th century house known as the Old Moat within a moat some 200m to the west. This moat is no doubt the position of the earliest dwelling for the landholding. Gravetye lands are only referred to as a manor from about 1600 onwards and this is more or less a courtesy title - there are no manor court rolls. Over the centuries the prevailing atmosphere has been one of peace at Gravetye, though it has to be said that at one time the Manor was used as a Smugglers’ hideout and store. The Gravetye furnace also supplied 12-pounder guns to Woolwich until 1769, but otherwise the tranquillity of the

estate seems to have been undisturbed. Its most notable owner, William Robinson, now recognised as one of the greatest gardeners of all time, lived at Gravetye until he died in 1935 - he was by then well into his nineties. It was at Gravetye that he realised many of his ideas for the creation of the English natural garden, the style of which is now admired and copied all over the world, but of which Robinson in the nineteenth century was a pioneer. He had worked in many formal gardens in England and France but in his planning, planting and landscaping he sought always to enhance the natural beauty of the gardens and woods. The variety and charm of the arrangements of trees and shrubs and the layout of the different types of garden at Gravetye is still his creation and memorial. Even when very old and partly crippled he would go out in his wheelchair and scatter bulbs and seeds from a bag on his lap; the garden room he built at the end of the formal garden provided him with a shelter from which he could watch his beloved flowers and trees from a fresh viewpoint. Robinson’s simple good taste, unusual in one who might be described as late Victorian, extended to his improvements in the Manor. He panelled the interior of the house in wood from the estate and enriched the rooms with chimney-pieces and fireplace furnishings entirely in keeping. The two-storey wing he built was at right angles to the original house and was partly for staff and partly for guests. It included a new entrance facing east towards the drive. A servant’s hall in the angle

between the new and old was largely below ground level. There are essentially 6 bays to the east added by him with a porch for the new entrance. In 1885 he’d employed the architect Mr George Devey (Messrs Devey and Williams of New Bond Street). The south east bay contains the new hall with Robinson’s library above it, this wing and a matching extension completed about 1992 are now used as bedrooms to the present hotel. The quality of the alterations carried out by William Robinson and by others, in more recent years, has disguised some of the evidence of the layout and the extent of the original house. However some clues exist in features such as early doorways, whilst

important evidence remains in the basement and roof space. There are several photographs taken in the late 19th century but unfortunately none show the areas in the north east corner which was subsequently altered. Fortunately large-scale maps show the previous extent of the house. The proportions of the full symmetrical facade with its distinctive gables topped with finials indicate the skill with which the house was sited and planned. It is clearly visible from the roadway across the valley. The numerous and substantial brick chimney stacks, a major feature in all new buildings of this period, are duly impressive. The fine stonework and architectural details are similar to other buildings in the neighbourhood such as Wakehurst Place erected in 1590 by Sir Edward Culpeper. The layout on the ground floor originally had the hall with opposing doorways (one external), at one end still very much in the mediaeval tradition. Most interestingly there is a low dais at the other end, also a mediaeval feature, although one outdated by this time. The Infields were clearly traditionalists in this respect. The small room next to the hall was a little parlour. It may have had a door from the hall in addition to the present one but any evidence is hidden by the panelling. The fire surrounds and the panelling to both these rooms are not original and were doubtless introduced by Robinson.
in 2004) Peter Herbert established Gravetye Manor as one of the leading establishments in its class as a Country House Hotel. Then in February 2010, the hotel came under private ownership and the decline the property has seen in the previous few years was reversed through a comprehensive programme of restoration and redecoration. Encompassing brickwork, chimney and roof repairs the refurbishment was critical to ensuring this beautiful historic house stayed standing for generations to come. The intention has always been to remain faithful to William Robinson’s own vision of Gravetye so changes have been sympathetically done. Projects such as the restoration of the kitchen garden were initiated, the focus will be not only on conserving and re-creating Robinson’s work but also on progressing the garden in deference to his experimental style of gardening. www.gravetyemanor.co.uk
Peter Herbert arrived at Gravetye in 1958. Captivated by Robinson’s house and its setting he had the revolutionary idea of injecting his own exceptional hotel keeping and restaurant standards into this rural spot. For nearly 50 years (until his retirement

Gardening in Spring worth taking a little time to tie in the new shoots regularly during the growing season so they don’t hang down with the weight of the blooms. If you only have a small area to garden consider a climbing patio rose, planted in a container with a good obelisk to climb up they are easy to train and look after and will be full of colour throughout the summer. Dazzling displays are in abundance this month. Patience and a lot of hard work have been rewarded with borders full of colour and scent. It’s hard to choose the plants that are the stars of the show, but roses are definitely either at or near the top of the list. There will be a rose for almost every garden situation, and now so many are cultivated as disease resistant they can look good all summer long. Roses are very versatile, they work well in the border to complement other plantings, can be planted singularly as specimens or en masse as a rose garden. Trained up a pergola or wall they add height and colour.
Roses will grow in just about any soil but it does need to be well drained. When planting enrich the soil with well rotted garden compost or manure. In the early years make sure the roses are well watered until they establish their long root system. If your roses are in pots then during dry spells you may need to water them every day – they don’t like
to dry out. Regular feeding will help maintain a good display as will regular deadheading – but not on plants that produce attractive hips after flowering. Many gardeners talk about the therapeutic benefits of gardening and I’m sure this is the case with roses. Watering, feeding, pruning, deadheading, selecting blooms for indoors should be viewed as nurturing and caring for the plant rather than another long list of jobs in the garden. Whatever the effort you put in you’re guaranteed that dazzling display in return. Happy gardening… Clare Parkinson: Horticultural Manager and Garden Designer Imberhorne Lane Nursey

Local History Notes
VE Day Street party in Queens Road celebrating VE Day At the end of 1944 East Grinstead, in common with the rest of the country, was war weary: the women suffered. The long wait in fear that terrible news of husbands, fathers and sons away on the fronts would arrive, took its toll. The strain of feeding their families with strict rationing fell on women who were already under stress. They worried, they worked at home and in factories or on farms replacing the men who were fighting. They stretched the tiny rations with vegetables and fruit grown in their gardens or on allotments. The children were less affected by all this, of course. They enjoyed the days off school to collect acorns for pigs or blackberries for jam and rose hips to provide badly needed 24
vitamin C. They had enjoyed the sight of the Battle of Britain raging overhead and collecting shrapnel and “window”, the strips of metallic paper designed to baffle radar. The town had suffered from bombing as East Grinstead was a convenient place on which the German pilots dropped any bombs they had not been able to target on London due to the antiaircraft precautions in place there. The Whitehall incident on July 9th 1943 was the worst, not only in East Grinstead, but in the whole of Sussex. It resulted in the deaths of 108 people, of whom about a third were children. The children were present in large numbers for two reasons, it was raining heavily

and they did not go to the open air swimming pool at Brooklands and also many of their mothers were still at work at the munitions factory at the top of Rices Hill. This was over half as many again as the casualties sustained by the armed forces from the town during the entire war. Later, the V1s and V2s, the “doodle bugs” were the major threat. Almost a year to the day after the Whitehall bombing a V2 fell farther up the London Road at 7am, the early time meant the casualties were limited to three. The last V2 here fell in March 1945 at North End and by the end of the month the launching sites at Peenemunde were taken by the Allied Forces.

However, children who had been used to having children from London billeted on them or were pupils sharing the same school had now been evacuated themselves. The threat of the flying bombs was considered great enough to send East Grinstead children to safety, mostly to Wales. This lasted a comparatively short period but some children were said to have returned with a Welsh accent. By the beginning of 1945, however, the mood in the town was beginning to be more optimistic. The Allied push towards Berlin was starting to gain momentum and the “beginning of the end “ was in sight. VE Day was celebrated with relief. William Magee, a Canadian soldier who was sent to East Grinstead in early 1945 was told by his commanding officer to arrange a dance for the soldiers and the local girls. It was held in the rebuilt Whitehall. Those unable to get in danced in the streets to music played at the Radio Centre and a local music shop. V for Victory signs were painted on pavements and roads. Street parties were hastily organised with all the residents pooling their resources to put on a good spread for the children. Rationing which was still in place, in fact did not end completely until 1954. Magee also arranged for the soldiers to “volunteer” to help with the harvest “saying to those who don’t help won’t eat”. Some of the Canadian surplus supplies he distributed to local families to 26
augment their meagre rations. The mood of euphoria could not be completely shared by everyone. Those who had lost loved ones either in the bombing or in combat would feel their loss more keenly because those who died could not share in the celebrations. Also, the war in Japan was still raging and the fears for their safety were still present. It would be a hundred days before their rejoicing would be complete. VJ Day, August 15th, was celebrated in much the same way as VE Day. By the end of August people had to settle down to their routine lives again. It was still a life of real austerity, broken only by the excitement and relief of troops and evacuees returning home again. The large houses that had been built for wealthy families in the 1850s and 60s were still occupied by them. The freedom women had gained through their war work meant they were disinclined
to go back into domestic service so houses such as Imberhorne and Halsford Park became impossible to run. One by one they were demolished and the estates that were needed to house the residents and the Londoners who had been made were homeless through enemy action, were built on their land. The year 1945 was, to borrow from football parlance, “a year of two halves” The first half, war; the second, peace. It also marked a ”century of two halves”. After the Second World War, East Grinstead, and indeed the whole country, would never be the same again. It marked the beginning of a social revolution and a scientific and technological age greater than anything before. Hospices of Hope Graham Perolls OBE, Tunbridge Wells resident, is the founder & Executive Director of locally based, Hospices of Hope charity. Here is a Q&A with him about his charity and how it started:
How has it grown since then? We started in 1992 with just one nurse going out from our UK hospice to train the first Romanian hospice nurse. We also found a Romanian doctor who was willing to support us. From those small beginnings the charity has grown into the leading provider of hospice and palliative care in South East Europe, now employing more than 250 people in Romania, Serbia and the Republic of Moldova. Since the start, 25,000 patients have received hospice care and 17,000 health care professionals from across the region have attended training courses.
How did the idea of Hospices of Hope come about initially and what were the first steps to establishing the charity? I first went to Romania as a tourist in 1975, and during a visit to Brasov I made some lifelong friends, which led to a lasting interest in the country. My father died from cancer in 1980 at St Christopher’s Hospice in London, and the care they gave him inspired me to start a hospice charity in my home town of Dartford. I returned to Romania for a visit with my family in 1989, when things were probably at their worst. Later that year, the dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu, was shot dead and more than 40 years of communist oppression were brought to an end. I went back to visit my friends in the early days of 1990 and witnessed at first hand the terrible legacy of those years – thousands of abandoned children and terrible conditions in hospitals and other institutions. On visiting the cancer hospital in Brasov, I saw a young man dying in terrible pain and this planted a seed in my mind that perhaps I could use my experience of starting a hospice in Kent to help pioneer hospice care in Romania.
What are the current goals for the charity? We have just finished building a new hospice in Bucharest, capital of Romania. It took 6 years to raise the ÂŁ4 million needed for the project and 60% of the funds were raised within Romania. However, even though the State contributes to the running costs, it will be a huge challenge to raise the funds needed to keep this and all the other services running. We are also now focussing on renovating a donated building that will become a centre for children with rare and life-limiting illnesses. This is a group that have been very much neglected in South East Europe.
What do you hope the future will bring? We look forward to a time when every patient in Romania and surrounding countries who needs hospice care will be able to receive it. At the moment, less than 6% have access to any kind of specialist service. This means that thousands of patients still die in pain and family members are often traumatised by the experience. to have a closer working relationship with the governments of these countries and encouraging them to provide more resources for hospice and palliative care. However, funds are still very limited and they still need our help. 44% of Romanians still live in poverty according to World Health Organisation statistics.
What local help do you need? We have a lot of support from local people. I live in Tunbridge Wells, where one of our 20 charity shops is situated. We are always looking for volunteers to help in our shops and also to volunteer in Romania, where we run summer camps for bereaved and sick children. We obviously need donations to help meet our commitments to our partners in Romania, Serbia and Moldova and every little makes a difference. Please contact us on 01959 525110 or visit our website www.hospicesofhope. co.uk Hospices of Hope are hosting a Ladies Lunch, Strictly Come Dancing Theme with Michael Hemera and Lauren McFarlane on Monday 15th June 2015, 12pm. They will have a special performance by professional dancers Michael Hemera and Lauren McFarlane who are ranked 2nd in England. The cost is £29 per person to include an arrival drink, two course luncheon with a glass of wine and coffee with mint chocolates.
