LCA Studio Window: Brief Overview Brief
Concept
Audience
Create a window vinyl for LCA Third Year studio.
Using the Manifesto presentation as a basis to the window design, select one or more of my personal quotes and use them to create the window design.
LCA Students. Mainly third years as its within their studio, but other years may look upon these.
The vinyl design should be typography led and should be a positive message. It is to be a quick turn around project.
These quote are all of a positive nature and all link into design, so these will all fit within the needs of the brief.
Tone of Voice Communication of a positive message.

Deliverables
LCA Third Year studio needs brightening up and there are alot of windows within the space. To make use of these windows, they can be seen as a ‘exhibition space’ and be used to showcase work of the current third years.
The purpose of the brief for me was to develop my illustration skills and work with a new material and format in which the artwork will be displayed. It was also a quick turn around brief and provided a short break from other ongoing projects.
1. Window Vinyl Design 2. Digital Artwork 3. Presentation boards
This should be something that is fun and creative, a project that stands out and makes the studio a better place to work in.

The purpose of brief for the audience was to create a studio space which displayed creativity and positivity, making it a nicer environment to work.

Initial Designs Taking three of the best quote from my manifesto, I looked at different ways in which I could illustrate these to create a design for the window. I chose these three quotes because had the opportunity to design around them and create a visually stimulating design, which would stand out against the window and fit within the studio space.

Final Design After working on all the initial designs, I decided on using the typography based design as this would fit in with the other windows the best. When it came to cutting out the design into the vinyl, the ‘k’ on ‘key within the quote didn’t read right and miss communicated the whole quote. In order to save the design and still be able to create the window, I adapted the quote and used some of the other letters to make the final design. This made the quote alot simpler and easier to apply it to the window.

Final Outcome The final outcome of the window was a great sucess. From adapting the typography to fit the window and read better it has been much more of a success. The type works well being cut out of vinyl as it’s quite an interesting typeface, the colour of the vinyl also fits in with the colours of the other windows and within the studio space itself.
