STAFF SPOTLIGHT Susie Traylor

Recreation Program Coordinator

How long have you been in your position? I have been with the City of Arlington for 18 years and have worked in a fitness capacity for that duration. I have been at Hugh Smith for about a year. What do you enjoy most about your job? That I can be creative and have fun! This is place where you work around children, and not many adults, so it is a place where you can have a naturally fun time! What do you like most about working with kids? I like working with children because you can make a difference. We find that the kids do need a chance to grow and learn after school and in different programs. I think we can make a difference in the programs that we offer here. 2014 Day Camp & Aquatics Guide

Camp Kitsu was an opportunity to be adventurous, and I think that was part of what made it so fun as a director. I have many memories that I am not soon to forget! I loved the time truly spent outdoors learning how to canoe, fish, use a compass and build a fort out of sticks, to name a few.” SHELBY WEIR 2013 Camp Kitsu Director
