CAMP INFO FULL DAY CAMPS Full day camps offer a new theme each week with games, crafts and other activities. Campers swim at least once a week at a nearby pool. Six field trips are planned per summer. Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day. An afternoon snack is provided. Camps are for ages 5–12. Each family will receive a parent’s packet at registration outlining activities, the overview of each week, discipline policies and a copy of our Standards of Care procedures. Annual Membership Card required. When registering online, the stated price include any advertised discounts, and only the full week fee is available.

MINI CAMPS A variety of Mini Camps are offered either 9 AM -12 PM or 1-4 PM unless stated differently. Qualified instructors are selected to ensure your child has fun and learns something new. Campers enrolled in a Parks and Recreation Full Day Camp may enroll in a Mini Camp the same week at the same location for a discounted price of 25% off the Mini Camp.

SPECIALTY CAMPS We offer numerous full and partial day specialty camps. Fees, field trips and guest speakers vary and are listed when possible in each description.

REGISTRATION Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Register as soon as possible to ensure enrollment. All programs require advance registration and an annual membership. Register by phone, online or by visiting a recreation center. Checks should be made payable to the “City of Arlington”. A charge of $25 will be assessed on all returned checks. Phone-in registrations are by credit card only. A participant’s information form must be completed for each participant. Register online at NaturallyFun.org.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED If you are not happy with the quality of a program, please tell staff immediately. That will give us an opportunity to correct the situation or credit your account for an activity at a later date. We value you as a customer!

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CARDS Annual membership cards are required for participation in all classes and programs at the recreation centers. This ID card is issued at the time of purchase and is valid for one year. Residents include anyone who lives within Arlington’s incorporated city limits. Proof of residency is required. NOW HIRING! Join our Summer Day Camp staff. Staff positions are Monday through Friday working with children ranging from 5 to 14. Looking for experience with children, sports, special interest, crafts or outdoor nature skills. Camp is 7 AM - 6:30 PM. Positions and pay vary. Apply at one of the local recreation facilities. Interviews start immediately.

REFUND POLICY A customer must withdraw from a program three days prior to the start of the first class to be eligible for a refund. Facility membership cards are verification of membership to the facility and entitles holders to benefits of membership. Membership cards are the property of the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Fees for classes or programs, which are canceled by the Parks and Recreation Department, are fully refundable. We encourage our customers to utilize their funds to re-enroll in other classes. Staff will gladly assist with finding the same class if it is offered at a different time or location, or aid the customer in finding a suitable alternative. Participants removed from a Parks and Recreation facility, class, program, or lesson due to disciplinary reasons will not receive a refund.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department welcomes people of all ability levels to enjoy and participate in the variety of programs and services. NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION Platform allows customers to easily pay and register for programs online. Arlington Parks and Recreation has unveiled a new online registration platform, allowing customers the ability to register and pay for programs, sign up for memberships and view facility reservation availability from any device 24 hours a day. Registering for an account has never been easier.

COMMUNICATION

The new system has many benefits and is extremely easy to use. Search for your favorite programs by keyword, age, day, time, location and more. You can even register for multiple programs in one transaction, making the registration and payment process faster and more convenient.

Share what you are doing and which activities you are signed up for with your Facebook friends with the click of a button.

Customers will also have the ability to view facility details and availability for all of our park pavilions, ball fields and event spaces throughout Arlington. Whether you are hosting a corporate event, a party at a park pavilion, or looking for a day at Lake Arlington on our new pontoon boat, we are ready to make your next outing a memorable one!

FEATURED FIELD TRIPS: PEROT MUSEUM The Perot Museum of Nature and Science has a five floor house, 11 permanent exhibit halls containing state-of-the-art video, and 3D computer animation with thrilling life-like simulations where visitors can exercise their brains through hands-on activities, interactive kiosks and educational games. The extraordinary building and outdoor space serves as a living science lesson, offering provocative illustrations of engineering, technology and conservation.

FOSSIL RIM WILDLIFE CENTER Fossil Rim Wildlife Center represents over 1,000 animals, 50 species of native and non-native animals living peacefully at the 1,700-acre center. Campers can feed and see these spectacular animals on a scenic tour.

HORSEBACK RIDING Campers get the opportunity to learn about horse safety, grooming and care. After all safety precautions have been taken, the campers get to go horseback riding.

PIRATES COVE WATERPARK Pirates Cove Water Adventure Park is part of Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Burleson and features seven water slides, multilevel platforms, secret passages and a giant pirate head bucket that will splash hundreds of gallons of water from above! Campers will have wet and dry fun.

DYNO ROCK Dyno Rock is an Arlington based rock climbing facility that features many rock climbing surfaces.

JUNIOR TENNIS

ATC has development specific camps for ages 11-14 (grades 5-8) and ages 14-18 (high school). Technique camps are an entry level for those students who have had minimal or no experience. This class will go into detail about all of the different strokes and terminology that are used in the game of tennis. The objective of this camp is to get students to understand the different strokes and to be able to use them to sustain a rally with other students. Strategy camps are for players who have good fundamentals on their strokes. Players should be able to sustain a rally and play out competitive points with each other. This camp is focused on getting players ready to play matches for their school, or Junior Team Tennis team, by teaching strategy and patterns to use during point play. The Challenger level is designed for players who are ready to play USTA Challenger level tournaments and Junior Team Tennis. Students should be able to play an unsupervised match. The objective of this camp is to prepare students for tournament play at the Challenger level. Coaches will teach strategies to students and put them in situations which they will face in tournament play. Students in Champs camps compete in the USTA Texas Championship division prepares students to play tournaments at the Champs level and beyond.
