HNS Industry Ambassador

Bianca Bianca is just now starting her modeling career after finishing an amazing career playing college basketball! This girl is so strong and athletic but sweet and endearing at the same time! Bianca has an amazing story of finding her health after going through many hard times the way so many girls do when it comes to abusing their own bodies to achieve “perfection.” We respect Bianca for the journey to health and happiness she has been on. Bianca represents hope for so many girls who feel they way that she felt about her body. The best part is that you can be where she is now! Let the journey begin!

“I want them to know that being

healthy and changing for the better doesn’t mean that you will be perfect.”

Why do you feel so passionate about Healthy is the New Skinny and the message it brings? I feel this movement is important because it doesn’t only just change lives but saves lives. The way media and society has displayed what “you’re supposed to look like” has been an influence in youth suicides, cyber bullying, and eating disorders whether it be male or female. I want to be a part of this change because growing up I knew what it felt like to not feel like I fit in to society’s image of perfection. I can relate to this movement in so many ways and I think it is important to educate youth and society about the healthy ways to approach your lifestyle.

“In life you have to fail over and over again in order to succeed, whether it is trying to get to that healthy state in life or the career you always dreamed of. YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE and YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.”- Bianca!

If you could go back to high school and give yourself a message from the future what would it be and why? I would tell her it’s okay not to be okay. In high school is when I suffered from my eating disorder badly. I was ashamed of what I did behind closed bathroom doors then. Now I see it as a lessoned learned. I would tell her to stop kneeling down at the toilet and stop hurting yourself this way…soon someone would come and change your life and tell you you’re beautiful, you are who you are. In high school I was 5’11 and 200lbs on the Varsity basketball team often teased because of my weight by members of that team. I would tell her not to worry… an athletic scholarship for college is on the way and it will introduce you to professionals that will change your life for the better. I would tell her that her freckles were amazing and not to cover them up!

Why do you believe in Healthy is the New Skinny? I believe in HNS because it’s the way I live my life now. I totally changed the way I eat and how I work out, in a healthy way. In high school when I was playing basketball I was eating poorly and using binging and purging as a way to “make me feel better” but really it never did. HNS is a message that I want to promote to everyone! You don’t have to look like the girl on the Fitness magazine or Vogue cover in order to be successful or happy. You have to find your healthy balance and be the person you are and no one else.

Do you think change is possible? Of course I do. Some people change for the better and some change for the worse. My best friend came into my life and helped me change for the better. Similar to Katie H. and Bradford’s situation, I met an amazing person who showed me how to be healthy and embrace my curves. I look up to Katie and Bradford and saw the changes they have made that have lead to the success in their lives. That is a prime example that change is possible. I would like the be that person for someone else and pay it forward!

“Happiness to me is being able to throw on a pair of sweat pants and eat my favorite chips! LOL Happiness is being comfortable and acknowledging my curves and my body. Happiness is waking up in the morning, feeling like I look my worst and being able to see that I just took my boyfriends breath away! Happiness is not caring what society thinks of you or your body type but caring about how your body feels.” - Bianca! What do you love most about being a girl? I love being able to dress up and feel like a queen. To have your family and friends say you’re beautiful or give you compliments is a great feeling. I love that I can be a “tom boy” when I want and be a “diva” at the same time. I love all that comes with being a girl, clothes, make up, perfume, shoes and purses. I realize that these things are not what “makes” a girl a girl but they are the fun extras we get to have!

Bianca Davies Height: Tall Size: Healthy Weight: Who cares….. Representation: Natural Models www.naturalmodelsla.com Tell us something people would not know about you from your looks alone….

People don’t know my ethnicity, I am ½ Mexicana, ¼ AfricanAmerican, and ¼ Japanese. I always get Samoan or Hawaiian. They would probably think I was a tom boy or lazy person because I like to dress comfortable at school but I am quite the lady. I love all people and accept diversity. I love to smile but I walk around with a frown so I have been told…must fix that.
