My favorite time of year. I just love everything about it— warmer weather, bright sunshine, fresh fruits and veggies, farmto-table dinners, outdoor concerts, festivals, and time spent on the beach or at a lake.
Last July, we launched our first-ever issue dedicated exclusively to Energy Medicine and Healing and it was a huge hit! We had to increase our page count for the first time in years. I’m excited to bring it back this year with some fantastic articles about healing the body with these amazing energy medicine modalities.
I have always been a big believer in the ability to heal your body with your mind—I’ve seen it happen time after time in myself and in people I know—and have heard countless stories from all the holistic practitioners I meet and interact with. The power of our mind to heal our body is knowledge I believe we all innately have but, sadly, has been forgotten. And quite honestly, most of us were never taught how to access and apply this ability. I am more committed than ever to sharing this information and to continue to provide the platform for our Energy Healers to educate our communities on all of their unique healing modalities!
Also, don’t forget that our annual reader-nominated 10Best Awards are here! They have been a huge hit with thousands of readers voting last year! As a Natural Nutmeg reader, you will have the opportunity to nominate your favorite holistic practitioner or business in eighteen categories listed on the full-page ad on the inside cover. Nominations will take place between July 1–September 1 through an online survey tool at https://bit.ly/NN10Best2024. Winners will be announced in late September, and we will be showcasing the 10BEST in each category in a special additional issue released in December 2024.
Wishing you health and happiness,

Experience Gua Sha Facial Fusion at Abundant Health!
Kristina Mozzicato, owner of Abundant Health Massage Therapy & Wellness in Farmington, is pleased to announce a new offering: Gua Sha Facial Fusion. This innovative, next-level facial rejuvenation therapy was developed by Cecily J. Braden, owner of Cecily Braden Spa & Wellness. Gua Sha Facial Fusion brings about a fundamental change in the skin by clearing the stagnation of lymph fluid, enabling the renewal of the lymph, activating circulation, and stimulating cell activity and regeneration of the facial tissue. It is an effective facial massage modality that directly affects the connective tissue and muscles to help iron out the fascia that is bound with tension and traps accumulated wastes from the stressors of daily life.
Some of the benefits of Gua Sha Facial Fusion include:
• Renew facial contour; tone, firm, and lift sagging skin
• Reduce inflammation, puffiness, and dark circles
• Brighten the complexion, create a healthy, radiant glow
• Minimize fine lines and soften deep wrinkles
•Production of collagen and elastin
The treatment combines Gua Sha, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Connective Tissue Manipulation, and Thai Herbal Poultice. The poultice is gently steamed to soften and activate the properties of the organic herbs. This helps release blockages and stagnation, which cause most skin care concerns.
To experience this delightful treatment, please book your appointment at www. abundanthealthct.com.
Kristina Mozzicato is a Licensed Massage Therapist board-certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork by the NCBTMB and is also certified in Cupping and ACE MediCupping™. The Energy Medicine Solution Retreat $897 and up
We will uncover your unconscious limiting story that is keeping you stuck in these areas: health, wealth, relationships, and the ability to create your soul-aligned life. You will experience energetic clearing processes so you can leave feeling excited to create the life you desire on your terms.
The body, by nature, is connected to the spirit and to the mind. Each physical symptom that we may experience is a direct reflection of the deeper goings on in our consciousness. When a decision is made that leaves us with stress or unrest, it directly affects our energy fields and our aura. When this occurs, it will usually cause an individual to automatically be drawn inward to process the information. The symptom or the decision is not a problem but a message that, once understood, can be released. It is common when a symptom presents itself, usually physical or emotional, that we turn to either the medical model or herbs, energy work, or perhaps diet modifications to eradicate the symptom or how we may be feeling. I would like to take this a step further.
In addition to working with the numerous energy fields surrounding my client’s physical body, I also like to incorporate healing techniques for my clients on how to raise their own vibration or frequency to protect themselves from becoming what I like to call “runoff” healers. Runoff healers are phenomenal at helping and guiding other people because, at a subconscious level, they have not faced or “worked through” the very energetic issues that they themselves are assisting their clients in working through. Aside from helping out clients, as healers, we need healers as well.

In his first visit to Connecticut since before the pandemic, Chopra will explore practical ways to experience a clear vision, heal suffering in mind and body, and help recover the authentic self. In the midst of widespread trepidation, what are goals that each of us can pursue right now? Are we in a major paradigm shift in science? How does our understanding of consciousness also enhance our capacity for total well-being? Dr. Chopra will address these questions as well as down-to-earth ways to experience transformation and healing. Tickets are available at palacetheaterct.org or 203.346.2000.

Registered as a National Historic treasure, the Palace Theater was opened on January 28, 1922, to great fanfare. The elegant lobbies, crystal chandeliers, gold detailing, along with its Broadway-sized stage, quickly established this theater as the gem of Waterbury and one of the finest theaters in New England, if not the country. Today, this exquisite complex showcases a performance schedule boasting professional Broadway tours, rock concerts, educational programs, family entertainment, and much more. See ad on page 7 >
CT’s Top Energy Healers and Yoga Studios
Energy healers believe your body is instilled with a subtle energy or life force, the flow of which must be balanced for good health. Energy healing activates the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body’s inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated. Energy healers help people with a wide range of health issues, from anxiety to chronic pain to side effects from cancer, and also with a variety of mental health problems. Yoga is an ancient and complex practice, rooted in Indian philosophy. It began as a spiritual practice but has become popular as a way of promoting physical and mental well-being.

Conscious Creations
Meditation & Healing Center
ConsciousCreations Meditation and Healing Center was born from my adventures and impressions of actively listening to the universe—a culmination of my SOUL journey of over 30 years. I moved back home to Connecticut to take care of a sick relative after being in Los Angeles for 20 years.
I am a psychotherapist, intuitive, and healer, and I help people find purpose, meaning, and healing in life. I have consciously created my path by following my heart over my head.
I like to say I am a psychotherapist by training and an Intuitive healer by calling—I was inspired to listen to the Universe after various tragedies and setbacks. As an energetic healer, I was led by synchronicities to work at UCLA in a complementary alternative medicine (CAM) program with doctors and alternative healers—we were even featured on CNN. It seemed a coincidence that led me to this opportunity, but I see how the Universe is constantly guiding us to align with our highest purpose.
The simplest way to hear our inner promptings and outer inspirations is to meditate. When we become quiet and still, the Universe can download our next steps more clearly. That is why I created a meditation center—I have seen over time that my greatest insights come when I am open, quiet, and receptive. Meditation can also help lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety and depression. Many have said my insights and messages are life changing, and I am gifted and blessed to clearly hear messages and see visions of my clients’ next steps.

Salt of the Earth Sanctuary
Salt of the Earth Sanctuary is a Wellness Center that offers treatments to optimize all aspects of health via mind, body, or spirit. Our therapies work through frequency, light, sound, electromagnetic fields, and purification to address a wide variety of symptoms. The evolution of Light and Energy in relation to healing is more relevant today than ever, and Salt of the Earth is a strong advocate for healing at the cellular level.
Our journey with Salt of the Earth Sanctuary began with personal struggles. My husband and I battled autoimmune conditions, and after years of unresolved medical challenges from Western medicine, we turned to holistic alternatives. The progression of our healing journey inspired us to explore opportunities further. We created a business plan for a healing center in Woodbury, CT in 2013 and Salt of the Earth Sanctuary came to fruition in December 2014. Since then, our Wellness Center has evolved on many levels, offering healing modalities for physical, mental, and spiritual health. We have been actively supporting the Holistic Health Care Industry for over 18 years, and our most significant accomplishmentscome from our clients. Witnessing their transformations, from being victimized by illness to an empowered “healing” being, makes it all worthwhile.

Owner of The Sacred Journey
Ashumans, we have a natural desire and capacity to heal and be healed-physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Surprisingly, injuries, illnesses, or imbalances are often treated as conditions separate from our wholeness.
When we honor ourselves as whole, beautiful, healthy beings, we can invite the transfer of energy from those aspects that are thriving to those that are struggling. For example, suppose your right shoulder is experiencing pain. As an energy healer, I might facilitate healing by inviting your left shoulder to offer healing to your right shoulder and move the energies in an infinity symbol pattern. As the energy travels from the healthy shoulder to the injured one, it stays in motion until balance has been restored.
My energy healing practices are versatile and can be applied to various conditions at every level of the body. From transferring energy from elbow to wrist, liver to kidney, digestive system to respiratory system, and more, the possibilities are limitless. I also incorporate other shamanic energy techniques, crystals and gemstones, or sacred sound instruments, both in-person and remotely. It’s important to note that these practices can complement Western medical treatments, potentially reducing or eliminating side effects and enhancing receptivity.
Imbalances, illnesses, and injuries occur first in the energy field and will be healed there first. This applies to all aspects of our being. The goal is to set clear intentions and to believe, without doubt, that the body does, indeed, wish to heal and be healed in a whole, beautiful, healthy way.
At The Sacred Journey in Burlington, CT, I offer Shamanic Journeying and Energy Practices, Sacred Sound Healing, Crystal and Stone Healing, Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression, Cord-Cutting, Soul Retrieval, Extraction, Spirit Detachment, and Yoga. I also lead monthly study groups, children’s events, and Shamanism and Wellness Retreats in Costa Rica, Belize, and the U.S.

The Healing Journey of Cyndi Roberts
Shanti Yoga Therapy
Asthe founder of Shanti Yoga Therapy in Southington, CT, I’m not your average yoga therapist. My path to yoga began from rock bottom, in the midst of a health crisis. Obese, prediabetic, and months away from liver failure, I was compelled to confront the truth—my unhealthy lifestyle, fueled by addiction and unresolved trauma, was leading me down a self-destructive path.
Far beneath my dis-ease, I heard a quiet voice within, urging me to explore the transformative power of yoga. Dedicated to my recovery, I delved into nutrition, spirituality, and all yoga has to offer for healing. This massive lifestyle makeover not only saved my life, but also sparked a passion that led me to become a certified yoga therapist, dedicating myself to helping others find their own path to well-being.
Shanti Yoga Therapy, aptly named for the Sanskrit word for “peace,” reflects my commitment to creating a space for equanimity and harmony within. Just for Today, I Will: The Tradition and Practice of Reiki
By Melissa Wooldridge Breton, APRN, FNP-BC, MSN, RN
R“Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not be angry.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.”
—Reiki Principles
eiki is an energy healing technique conceptualized as a biofield therapy. The name Reiki originates from the Japanese word Rei, or “Universal Life,” and Ki, or “Energy.” This universal life force energy is the flowing, nonphysical energy found everywhere and in everything living and non-living. Reiki is limitless and abundant. The practice of Reiki focuses on the energetic pathways and channels in the body and takes a whole system approach.
In the human body, energy should be free-flowing. In this positive state, optimal health and wellness are achieved. When energy becomes blocked, it can lead to imbalance, illness, and or dis-ease. Reiki can facilitate wellness and healing by moving and circulating energy, enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki practitioners facilitate this energy healing modality through energy channeling with or without physical touch one-on-one, in groups, or cosmically through the Universe in the form of distance healing.
Japanese Tradition of Reiki
Reiki is based on ancient Japanese healing practices using specific hand positions and symbols. These techniques channel the universal energy for healing and well-being. The tradition of Reiki has historically been passed down orally from Reiki Master to Reiki student through attunement. The lineage is traced back to the 1800s and founder Dr. Mikao Usui. This “Usui” style of Reiki was then passed along to Chujiru Hayashi and later his granddaughter, Hawayo Takata.
Reiki is taught in three levels: Reiki I, Reiki II, and Reiki Master Training. Essential to the Reiki Healer is the ability to set healing intentions and serve as a conduit of healing energy, which is drawn through the practitioner to wherever the patient needs it. Reiki can also be used with animals, plants, and crystals
and in any area of life where you are seeking clarity, balance, or healing. The practitioner can also selfadminister Reiki treatments as part of daily self-care.
How the Energy Healing Works
Reiki channels our electromagnetic biofield energy signal through the brain and body and out through the practitioner’s hands. Other electromagnetic fields influencing the potential of Reiki energy biofield therapy include moon phases, sunspot activity, and geomagnetic pulsation.
Human physiology interacts with the environment through energy fields and also communicates on a cellular level. The involvement of chemical, electrical, and neurotransmitters makes up the dynamic resonance that exists between the human biofield and the environment.
Evidence-Based Practice
The recipient of Reiki energy is drawing in the energy healing themselves. The practitioner is present with the rebalancing of the energy field and with the patient, with their presence set by the practitioner’s intention. The healing therapeutic relationship is established by the practitioner as healer and the patient’s desire to be healed. Reiki has shown evidence of being an effective energy healing modality when used in mental health as a complementary therapy, including being effective for: • Stress and Anxiety • Depression • PTSD • Difficulty Sleeping • Fibromyalgia • Pain • High Blood Pressure • Surgical Recovery • Cancer Symptoms
As Reiki continues to gain mainstream recognition for its therapeutic effects and a multitude of benefits, more research, measurable outcomes, and documentation of sound evidence-based practices with methodologic quality are needed to continue to substantiate the positive energy of Reiki healing.

Can a Juice Really Improve Your Energy?
By Lisa Wilson, CHC
Whathappens when the health teacher needs improved health? When focus and drive begin to dwindle? Imagine if you could add precious hours to your day, week, month, and even your year.
How My Journey Began
Five years ago, I started experiencing extreme fatigue and a lack of focus. At first, it didn’t seem too concerning. But then it became unmanageable. The fatigue was overwhelming. I took daily naps for years with no afternoon focus. I would sit down to tackle an afternoon task and get nowhere. Some days, I stared at my screen for hours. I accomplished nothing or got sidetracked. Can you relate?
For years, I tried everything to break free. I tried various nootropics and microdosing, but they either gave me headaches or didn’t work. I tried early morning sunlight, grounding, infrared therapy, and more. I exercised and ate well. I followed all the wellness advice. But nothing seemed to help. Was it just age? What was happening to me?
Happy Juice!
After all this, a friend suggested I try something called Happy Juice. She told me it was formulated to reduce cortisol, which is our main stress hormone. It also supports the gut-brain axis, achieved with special probiotic strains that promote mental wellness. I was skeptical but willing to try. They offered a money-back guarantee, so I had nothing to lose. I expected it to fail like everything else I’d tried—but then something incredible happened.
•Month 1: About three to four weeks into my experiment, I realized I hadn’t taken an afternoon nap in weeks. Not only that, but I had regained complete focus in the afternoons— something I hadn’t had in years. If that had
been the only result, it would have been enough. But the benefits kept coming.
•Month 2: My hormone levels began to stabilize. My mood improved. I was laughing more and started flirting with my husband even more than usual. Soon, we were like teenagers in love, all over again.
•Month 3: After missing two days of Happy Juice while traveling, I awoke in the middle of the night with a full-on panic attack—something that hadn’t happened since I started taking Happy Juice. And since resuming Happy Juice, I haven’t had a single panic attack.
• Month 4: Without changing anything else, I lost seven pounds. My body composition changed. My body looked more sculpted, even outside of a high-intensity workout phase. When cortisol levels drop, our bodies stop clinging to belly fat!
After years of searching, I finally found what I needed. It feels incredible! If you’re like me and wish you could find more hours in your day, Happy Juice could be the answer. It has added hours to my day, my week, and my month, and more joy to my life!
I Get to Be Me Again!
With Happy Juice, many others experience a happy, uplifted mood that lasts throughout the day. Some have seen physical improvements, such as lower blood pressure. Once you intercept cortisol, many things in the body begin to heal.
I get to fully show up in my business, for my family, and in my life. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. If this resonates with you, and you need it, I’ve included a link and a QR code so you can get your Happy Juice and experience this change for yourself. You can also read about this next-level Psychobiotic + Clean Energy + Nootropics. It’s all about the journey!
“After years of searching, I finally found what I needed. It feels incredible! If you’re like me and wish you could find more hours in your day, Happy Juice could be the answer. It has added hours to my day, my week, and my month, and more joy to my life!”

Why BOOSTIE™ Is the Perfect Food!
“Every one of us follows a different healthful eating style. Some of us eat vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, paleo, keto, Mediterranean, gluten-free, lectinfree, carnivore, dash, macrobiotic, or raw. Many of us focus on eating non-processed, organic, hormoneand antibiotic-free foods. The choice is very personal and should be based on how the foods make our body feel.”
—Goldie Rose, MS
By Goldie Rose, MS
Thirty-one
years ago, my journey to the foods
I currently eat started with a premenopausal breast cancer diagnosis. Thank you, G-d and the universe, for the wake-up call!
At the time of the diagnosis, I was a disciplined exerciser. I included five 45-minute cardio workouts and four 45-minute strength training workouts weekly. I was featured in a national magazine in the category “Fit, Fabulous, and Over Forty.” I was taking tons of vitamins, supplements, and powders, but I believe because they were all processed, they were not working for me! So, I looked good and ignored the fact that I didn’t feel good.
Now, at the age of “very close” to 78, I am proud to say, ”I feel fabulous!” What do I mean? I wake up every morning and live every day pain-free! I have not had even a sniffle in the years since I developed and enjoyed BOOSTIE™.
My family and friends were and are very interested in the reasons.
First and foremost, what we eat is the most important factor in our health. Ask any physical trainer, nutritionist, or natural healer, and they will agree. Exercise is essential, and we must be active, but the foods we eat are even more important.
The readers of Natural Nutmeg know this!
Every one of us follows a different healthful eating style. Some of us eat vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, paleo, keto, Mediterranean, gluten-free, lectin-free, carnivore, dash, macrobiotic, or raw. Many of us focus on eating non-processed, organic, hormone- and antibiotic-free foods. The choice is very personal and should be based on how the foods make our body feel.
BOOSTIE™ Fits Every Eating Style
My mission for BOOSTIE™ is to make healthy eating easy. This is quite a mission to accomplish
in light of the fact that most Americans think that an organic protein bar is healthy.
We all experience very busy times in our lives, so we sometimes need to be able to eat quickand-easy food that will benefit our bodies. I wanted to offer a food everyone could enjoy—and BOOSTIE™ fits these criteria!
Most of my knowledge about food was acquired during the thirty-one-year journey that started with my cancer diagnosis. I studied hard. I ate and observed how various foods affected me.
BOOSTIE’s ingredients fit every eating style and are very beneficial for our health. How do I know? I have not been sick one day since I started incorporating BOOSTIE™’s one ounce of food five days a week.
BOOSTIE™ Testimonials
• Dr. Ev says, “My LDL dropped 40 points in one year. The cardiologist was shocked!”
• Helen says, “My daily joint pain disappeared after one week of eating BOOSTIE™. I no longer have to take pain meds.
• Amira says, “I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my overall well-being after incorporating BOOSTIE™ into my diet. It has positively affected my microbiomes. BOOSTIE™ has not only enhanced my digestive health but has also boosted my energy levels and mood. Also, my skin completely cleared. I lost 35 pounds! BOOSTIE™ has nurtured and balanced my internal ecosystem, leading to a healthier, happier me.”
• Leah says, “I feel protected from illness when I eat BOOSTIE™. I haven’t been sick since I started eating it! I enjoy BOOSTIE™ five times a week. I love to eat the RASPBERRY in a smoothie and the NAKED in yogurt.”
BOOSTIE™ Is Healthy AND Convenient
People “in the know” understand that the value of BOOSTIE™ is that the nuts and seeds are sprouted—the only type of nuts and seeds that offer a powerhouse of nutrients. I also added cacao nibs for additional nutritional value. Each ingredient was chosen purposefully and with intention.
BOOSTIE™ NAKED (our word for “plain”) is rich in a long list of vitamins, minerals, micronutrients, plant protein, fiber, and omega-3s. The NAKED contains electrolytes because the ingredients are rich in magnesium. However, the RASPBERRY and PINK LEMONADE electrolytes versions contain the amounts I need for my great health. I used the best quality powdered electrolytes I could make. They are low in sodium and rich in other essential minerals.
I offer these flavored versions for intense exercisers, athletes, and people over 50. Why? We need them! If you are in one of these groups, your great health depends on them. Electrolytes are crucial for many physiological processes, including hydration, nerve function, muscle function, pH balance, blood pressure regulation, heart function, and kidney function. They are minerals that carry an electric charge, enabling our body to quickly absorb and utilize the water we drink. Maintaining the right balance of electrolytes helps ensure that your body’s systems function optimally.
In addition to being healthful for us, BOOSTIE™ is super convenient. Being single and living alone, I often don’t feel like cooking after a long day. I add PINK LEMONADE or RASPBERRY to good quality plain yogurt, and I am eating a complete meal! And because BOOSTIE is nutrient-dense, I am satisfied and full. When traveling, I—and the entire BOOSTIE™ community—feel comforted knowing we can eat real food anytime. We offer a BOOSTIE™ sample pack of six so you can conveniently decide which you love the most!
Goldie Rose holds an MS in Special Education/Learning Disabilities. When struck by premenopausal breast cancer thirty-one years ago, she started on a journey of getting and staying healthy. To her, being healthy means no diseases, no prescriptions, no over-the-counter meds, and zero pain. Her journey led her to a personal food plan that included clean and incredibly nutrient-dense food—her great state of health interested family and friends. BOOSTIE™ is an essential food in her anti-inflammatory daily eating program, and she began packing it, by request, for her family and friends. Desiring good health for all, her company was born. How I Healed Myself From Lyme Disease and Mold-Related Illness
By Jacob Appleton, IIN Certified Health CHC
I“There are no limits to the healing we can achieve, especially when we go beyond the physical and address the emotional and spiritual aspects that play into our health.”
—Jacob Appleton, IIN Certified Health Coach
n 2017, I was a Division I athlete playing tennis at the University of Connecticut. I was at the top of my game, playing in the top doubles spot and number two for singles. At the beginning of my sophomore year, I moved into a house off campus with three of my teammates. I was so excited to be living with three of my closest friends! The house had visible mold in a few rooms, but not knowing much about mold, I assumed as long as it was cleaned up, everything would be fine.
Within two weeks of being there, however, I started to have bouts of severe apathy. I was always intense on the tennis court, so this behavior was uncharacteristic. A few more weeks passed, and I began to experience anxiety, brain fog, confusion, sleepless nights, and panic attacks when I drank alcohol. After eight weeks of living in the house, my symptoms were so bad that I left school so I could figure out what was going on with me.
After visiting a doctor, I learned that the mold I thought nothing of was a significant concern. I discovered I had a genetic susceptibility to mold exposure. I tested positive for five different mycotoxin strains, Lyme disease, and Babesia. I was started on antibiotics and a binder.
When Traditional Treatments Aren’t the Answer
Approaching six weeks on the medications, I had an adverse reaction to the treatment, which caused me to become even more sensitive to everything, including food! I became even sicker. Looking back, my illness led me to the most important quest of my life. How can I heal my body and become the best version of myself in the process?
In my hyper-sensitive state, the only place I felt like I had control of was food, so I started there. I conjured up a level of discipline in my eating I didn’t know I had in me. I ate very simply, and I began to feel better. Around the same time, I started working with a family friend who is a brilliant life coach. In our sessions, we explored communication, looked into old patterns, and did exercises where I visualized what my future would look like when I healed myself. Each week, I untangled more of the web that was my identity. I was learning how my thoughts and feelings created the reality unfolding around me and impacted the health of my body.
It’s All Connected
Doing this work piqued my curiosity about spirituality. I noticed that when I had an emotional breakthrough, my physical health would improve. I was fascinated by this. In the past, when I experienced energy work, it helped with my symptoms, but I didn’t understand that if I could change my energetic blueprint, my physical body could change as well. I was starting to put together the pieces of the puzzle that would allow me to heal.
I realized that my energy, emotions, and mood had a direct impact on my physical body. I became aware that the words I spoke out loud, and even those in my head, had energy and could affect my physical well-being. Reflecting, I always held myself to a high standard in tennis, which helped me succeed on the court, but simultaneously, it worked against me because I was often too hard on myself. This illness forced me to learn compassion.
I couldn’t push my body through this—I had to love it every step of the way.
Genetic Testing for Better Health
About a year into this journey, I was given an opportunity to explore genetic testing for myself. It helped me understand that if I could use the knowledge of my genes to support my nutrition, it could profoundly impact my health. Implementing the supplements recommended to me based on my genetics allowed me to take another leap forward.
Through this work, I drastically improved my health. In 2021, I was able to move to Arizona on my own to finish college in person, something I only dreamed about in the throes of my illness. Since then, I have continued to become healthier. This past September, I played a tennis tournament, where I spent six hours on the court. I experienced lasting energy and no health symptoms. The next day, I woke up feeling great and able to play two more matches.
Mind, Body, Spirit
I am completely healed from my illness and continue to do the inner work. In the past year, I attended four meditation retreats. Meditation has become an indispensable part of maintaining my health and well-being. Although very difficult at times, this healing journey has led me to realize my purpose in life: to help others heal.
There are no limits to the healing we can achieve, especially when we go beyond the physical and address the emotional and spiritual aspects that play into our health. I hope that my journey and experiences can inspire you to see what is possible when we engage the mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. Implementing lifestyle changes based on our specific genetics and activating the natural wisdom that lives within each of us is the path forward in the evolution of medicine.

Empower Yourself With the Akashic Records
“Find the intention to expand your soul and remember who you are and why you are here.”
—Heather Whitehouse
By Heather Whitehouse
“There are moments in our journey when we need perspective, clarity, or confirmation of our path. We yearn to be seen, guided, and embraced by the Light of Acceptance, Love, and Understanding. In the Light of Higher Guidance, we feel unconditionally loved and acknowledged in our pure essence.”
—Heather Whitehouse
Would you like to tap into the boundless knowledge of the Akashic Records? Before we reveal the optimal method to access them, it’s essential to grasp some fundamental concepts about their existence and purpose:
What Are the Akashic Records?
Akasha means Space/Spirit.
“Akashic” is derived from Sanskrit and refers to the primary substance. The Akashic Records, known by various names, such as The Book of Life, The Cosmic Mind, The Universal Mind, The Collective Unconscious, The Collective Subconscious, and The Soul Records, encompass the past, present, and future knowledge of all things. Every manifestation in our universe originates from and will eventually return to a plane of information not part of our visible reality. This dimension, known as the Akashic Records, contains pure information about what has been, what is, and the potential of what is to be.
The Akasha holds a record of every soul across all lifetimes, in all times, and in all places. It encompasses your soul’s history— where you’ve been, what you are facing now, and how it relates to your current life’s purpose. Additionally, it documents all our collective experiences.
The Akashic Records are a valuable resource for anyone seeking to understand the bigger picture, find the purpose behind current events, comprehend the past in this lifetime, or uncover their soul’s past. They serve as a resource for the soul.
Some believe the Akashic Records are the Collective Unconscious, providing a means of connecting with the divine knowledge of your soul in this moment.
Who Is an Akashic Records Session For?
The Akashic Records are available to everyone and have the power to help those seeking healing on multiple levels—emotionally, mentally, and energetically. There are moments in our journey when we need perspective, clarity, or confirmation of our path. We yearn to be seen, guided, and embraced by the Light of Acceptance, Love, and Understanding. In the Light of Higher Guidance, we feel unconditionally loved and acknowledged in our pure essence.
When you learn to connect with this force, you will be able to:
• Discover hidden knowledge and use it to improve your life
• Participate in active healing of both self and others
• Recognize your deep connection with all living beings
• Influence the very fabric of existence with your mind
• Easily understand your soul’s purpose
• Uncover profound levels of creativity and clarity of thought
What You Will Receive in a Cosmic Session
A 75-minute session with me, being present— which is my greatest agency for supporting your transformation and growth. Each Cosmic session starts with setting intentions and getting clarity on your goals for bringing more ease into your life. We’ll cleanse the space with sacred sage, turn on soothing music, and settle in with aromatherapy. Then, I will cut your negative energy cords with Shamanic Reiki.
Next, I’ll open the records and channel them from the masters of the records. From here, I usually work by energetically scanning your body, and as I pass through different chakras and body areas, the information comes through. The intention of each session is to offer an integrative healing experience relevant to what the individual needs to understand that is most relevant to the NOW, present-moment unity consciousness.
The rest is magic.
After the session, we pull an Akashic Record Tarot card, which always finishes telling your story. Then, we’ll have a quick check-in and discuss ways for you to continue this work at home. I follow up within three days to check in and see if anything needs to be addressed.
These sessions are not to be used in place of therapy. I am not a psychic (I work in the present moment), and I do not offer past-life regressions (past lives for me are visited to gain clarity in the present). What I do offer is healing toward a more peaceful, joyful existence.
Heather Whitehouse strives to live her life’s purpose in her Sacred Mountain Ayurveda Healing practice. Her life has been about curating and cultivating, first as Director of Education at an art museum and now as a healing practitioner. During the last few years of her museum career, she started focusing on Ayurveda, an ancient healing modality. It was what her dreams had been—a way to move into the healing world. Manifestation at its best, she believed her dream life into existence. H“I help you into a deeply meditative state whereby we can begin to do past-life regression work. From there, we then move into accessing the higher self or the superconscious as a means to gain clarity around your questions.”
—Rio Comaduran
ave you ever wondered what your life’s purpose should be? Or if you are living the most authentic version of yourself? Have you wondered if there is a past life connection to someone in your current life? Or if the physical pain you feel in your body is the result of some past physical trauma and can be healed and released in this lifetime? These are some of the burning questions that some people have when seeking a quantum healing session. These are some of my favorite sessions to facilitate and are my most popular services to date. We never know what will come through during a session, but everyone walks away with something gained.
What Is Quantum Healing?
Quantum healing is a unique and wonderful hypnosis technique that was perfected by the late Dolores Cannon, who is renowned for this particular past-life regression technique. She, Edgar Cayce, and Brian Weiss are but a few of the individuals who put this technique on the map. As an individual is brought into a deep meditative state, we are able to access the subconscious to resolve any physical, emotional, or spiritual issues. Each client also gets a recording of their session so that they
can listen back to the key insights and guidance given. I am currently training in Beyond Quantum Healing to include so much more in my future quantum healing sessions (future and interdimensional lives, for example).
As an intuitive healer, it is my life’s passion and purpose to guide and assist others through various parts of their journey, during their most pivotal periods of growth or their darkest hours of emotional suffering. I have been practicing the Quantum Healing Hypnosis technique since 2020 and practicing out of The Colonic Institute in Avon since 2022, with the other wonderfully talented practitioners in this beautiful and peaceful space.
What Can You Expect at a Session?
Even before you come into the office, I will gently guide you in the process and let you know what you can expect. On the day of your session, you will be met with care from the moment you walk into our serene setting. I spend time with you, learning about your life’s journey and what you seek guidance and insight around. Then, while on the massage table, I help you into a deeply meditative state whereby we can begin to do past-life regression work. From there, we then move into
accessing the higher self or the superconscious as a means to gain clarity around your questions. We then conclude the session with more time to debrief and ground yourself before you are headed out the door.
Some of the clients’ takeaways include, but are not limited to, powerful shifts in perspective and attitudes, tapping into one’s purpose, clarity around more effective coping skills and creative pursuits, insight into optimal dietary needs, and releasing physical and emotional trauma symptoms.
Some Recent Testimonials from Quantum Healing Clients
“Thank you, Rio, for the deep dive quantum healing session I had with you last year. I am still going back to what I learned about myself and pondering this life and other life journeys that connect me to my higher self-purpose. I have spent more quiet time with myself and coming to know what I really need and want from the next decades to come. I walked away with a more valued sense of me.”
—JWR
“It was a very informative session! I had no idea what to expect. It made me realize that we have the answers within us, and when we actually take time to quiet life around us and tap is, we can hear our own intuition or higher self very clearly. Rio was very calming and informative throughout the process, and she wanted to make sure I felt completely comfortable and safe during the session.”

A Conversation With Pain-Relief Expert Jacqueline Kane
By Jacqueline Kane
Collinsville-based Low Back Pain specialist
“The pain was kept alive by the thoughts, memories, emotions, and beliefs about the source of the pain, whether it was a car accident, fall, or other traumatic event. This emotional aspect contributes to
daily pain, keeping it alive, increasing limitations, and curtailing activity with a long-term risk of disability.”
—Jacqueline Kane
Jacqueline Kane has been working with people in pain for decades. Using a variety of techniques, such as Bowen therapy, massage, emotional freedom technique (EFT/Tapping), and others, she helps clients release chronic physical and emotional pain patterns and gain lasting relief.
What’s the Biggest Misconception People Have Around Pain?
It’s that pain is only physical. Not true! Pain has both a physical and emotional component, so trying to treat physical pain only leads to lots of time and money wasted on treatments, often with poor or no results. The truth is, your pain IS in your head. Ancient civilizations knew this; the early Greeks and Romans advanced the idea that the brain played a role in producing the perception of pain. We have to relearn the concept of physical pain after years of barking up the wrong tree.
Why Does a Better Understanding of Pain Matter?
The National Institutes of Health estimated that the cost of health care and lost productivity was $560 to $635 billion in 2010 dollars. This is a major problem on a societal level. On an individual level, chronic pain over time makes people feel less active, energized, and alive. It begins to affect every
aspect of who they are and what they experience. When I first started, I worked with hundreds of clients on pain relief. The clients presented with low back, hip, and shoulder pain, which improved during sessions, but there was more going on, and it became clear that other factors were causing or exacerbating pain. The pain was kept alive by the thoughts, memories, emotions, and beliefs about the source of the pain, whether it was a car accident, fall, or other traumatic event. This emotional aspect contributes to daily pain, keeping it alive, increasing limitations, and curtailing activity with a long-term risk of disability.
Why Does EFT/Tapping Work for Physical Pain?
Based on research in non-pharmacological treatment of pain and more knowledge about the emotional aspects of pain, it’s proven that the reason you have pain may have more to do with what’s in your body AND your mind. The exciting part is that there are new ways to heal that are not widely known and that are achieving great success with no side effects.
EFT, also known as tapping, is one technique that I have learned and used with my clients to bring full-spectrum healing of body and mind. The results have been excellent for many clients.
Can You Give Us an Example of How EFT Works for Physical and Emotional Pain?
Sure, I can tell you about Lucy. Lucy suffered for years with pain in her hip after being hit by a drunk driver in a devastating car accident. As I used my “6 Months to Pain-Free and Energized” system on her body, I asked her about the history of the pain, its duration, how much she’d spent on relentless treatments, and how her pain always came back. Lucy not only told me about her physical pain, but she got agitated and angry about how irresponsible the car driver was. “He could have really hurt someone...that driver should have known better!”
Lucy then continued describing her alcoholic mother and how tumultuous the experience with her was, causing even more angry expressions. The angrier she got, the more her pain escalated. It was evident that Lucy’s hip pain had deep, strong emotional ties to anger that Lucy was unaware of. She had not released her emotions, so she was unable to release her pain. I guided Lucy to start a healing process of forgiveness toward her mother by creating compassion. Lucy realized that holding onto the anger was holding onto the pain itself. She spent time and money on appointments and treatments, seeking relief and finding it temporarily, but the pain always came back. Relieving the anger was the key to relieving the pain—and stopping the cycle permanently. Once we were able to do that, Lucy resumed her normal activities, stopped taking drugs, was able to vacation, and saved more than $5,000 in a year on medications she no longer needed (with her doctor’s support).
What Could a Client Expect from You?
We would begin with a complimentary Real Pain Relief Strategy session to identify your pain pattern, contributing factors, and the source of your pain. Together, we would create the strategy, using my proven “Get Out of Pain” system, that feels right and addresses your underlying pain patterns. We will get to the root of the problem, not just deal with the physical manifestation of the emotional issues that may be causing the pain.

Harnessing the Power of Energy Medicine in the Healing Journey of Breast Cancer Survivors
By April Beaman, RDH, CTT
The“When [thermography is] integrated with energy medicine, which addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of recovery through modalities like Reiki, acupuncture, and biofield therapies, survivors experience profound benefits, including stress reduction, pain management, emotional support, and enhanced well-being.”
—April Beaman, RDH, CTT
journey of breast cancer treatment and recovery is multifaceted, encompassing physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. While conventional treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy are essential components of care, many individuals seek complementary approaches to support their healing journey. Energy medicine offers a holistic framework for addressing the diverse needs of breast cancer survivors, providing gentle yet profound techniques to promote balance, resilience, and well-being.
Understanding Energy Medicine:
Energy medicine encompasses a variety of modalities that work with the body’s subtle energy systems to facilitate healing and restore harmony. The more widely practiced modalities include:
1. Reiki is a Japanese technique involving the laying of hands to channel universal life force energy to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and healing. Practitioners gently place their hands on or near the body, allowing the energy to flow where it is needed most. Reiki can help alleviate physical discomfort, ease emotional distress, and support overall well-being.
2. Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points along the body’s meridian pathways to balance energy flow and stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms. By targeting these energy channels, acupuncture can help reduce pain, alleviate nausea, improve sleep, and enhance overall vitality.
3. Biofield Therapies such as Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch, work with the body’s biofield—an energetic field that surrounds and permeates the physical body to promote health and well-being. Practitioners use gentle touch or non-touch techniques to clear blockages, restore balance, and enhance vitality. These therapies can help reduce stress, boost immune function, and support emotional resilience.
Benefits of Energy Medicine for Breast Cancer Survivors
For women navigating the challenges of breast cancer treatment and recovery, energy medicine offers a range of benefits that complement conventional care:
1. Stress Reduction: The diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer can be incredibly stressful, taking a toll on both physical and emotional well-being. Energy medicine techniques like Reiki, acupuncture, and biofield therapies promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and support the body’s ability to cope with stress.
2. Pain Management: Breast cancer treatments, such as surgery and chemotherapy, can cause pain and discomfort. Energy medicine modalities like acupuncture can help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and improve overall comfort, enhancing the quality of life for survivors.
3. Emotional Support: Dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and its aftermath can evoke a range of emotions, including fear, sadness, and uncertainty. Energy medicine provides a safe
space for emotional expression and healing, helping survivors process their feelings, find inner peace, and cultivate resilience.
4.Enhancing Well-Being: Energy medicine modalities like Reiki and biofield therapies promote holistic well-being, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. By restoring balance and harmony to the body’s energy systems, these practices support overall health and vitality.
The Role of Thermography in Post-Treatment Care
Thermography emerges as a valuable tool for monitoring breast health in women who have undergone mastectomies, reconstruction, or previous breast cancer treatments. Unlike mammography, which may be challenging or inconclusive in these cases, thermography uses infrared technology to detect temperature variations in breast tissue, providing valuable insights into tissue health and circulation. By detecting changes early, thermography can help identify potential issues and support timely intervention, optimizing outcomes for breast cancer survivors.
How Thermography Works
Thermography employs infrared technology to detect and visualize temperature variations in breast tissue. This imaging technique captures heat patterns on the skin’s surface, which can reveal underlying physiological changes. Areas of increased temperature may indicate inflammation, increased blood flow, or other metabolic activities that could suggest abnormalities or the early stages of disease.
Benefits of Thermography in Post-Treatment Care
1. Noninvasive and Radiation-Free: Thermography is a non-invasive procedure that does not expose patients to radiation, making it a safer option for frequent monitoring. This is particularly beneficial for breast cancer survivors who may already have heightened sensitivity or concerns about additional radiation exposure.
2.Effective for All Breast Types: For women with dense breast tissue, scar tissue from surgery, or reconstructed breasts, thermography offers a reliable imaging option.
3. Early Detection of Recurrence: A primary concern for breast cancer survivors is the risk of recurrence. Thermography can detect subtle physiological changes, such as abnormal thermal patterns, that may indicate the early stages of recurrence. By identifying these changes early, healthcare providers can intervene promptly, potentially improving outcomes.
Reconnect with Nature's Healing Energies
4. MonitoringInflammationandHealing: After breast cancer treatment, inflammation and healing processes continue for some time. Thermography can help monitor these by visualizing areas of increased temperature associated with inflammation or healing, allowing for better management of post-treatment recovery.
5. AssessingTreatmentEfficacy: Thermography can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing treatments. For example, if a patient is undergoing alternative therapies or lifestyle changes to reduce recurrence risk, thermography can help assess how these interventions impact tissue health over time.
Integrating Thermography into Post-Treatment Care
To maximize the benefits of thermography, it should be integrated into a comprehensive post-treatment care plan. This includes:
• Regular Screenings: Incorporating thermography into routine check-ups can help maintain ongoing surveillance of breast health.
• Combining With Other Modalities: Using thermography alongside other diagnostic tools like MRI or ultrasound provides a comprehensive picture of breast health.
• Holistic Approach: Combining thermography with energy medicine practices can enhance well-being and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Thermography is crucial in the post-treatment care of breast cancer survivors, providing noninvasive, radiation-free monitoring and detecting early signs of potential recurrence, inflammation, and other complications. When integrated with energy medicine through modalities like Reiki, acupuncture, and biofield therapies, survivors experience profound benefits, including stress reduction, pain management, emotional support, and enhanced well-being. Together, thermography and energy medicine form a holistic, integral part of the healing journey, empowering breast cancer survivors to reclaim their health and vitality.

60% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your bloodstream and then circulates throughout your entire body, possibly affecting your organs, too. This is why we, as consumers, must read labels to keep our bodies healthy. It’s not only what we ingest but what we absorb.”

you think about it, most, if not all, skin creams are white. Ever wonder why? You see, base creams initially make it feel like you are applying moisture to your face, but skin creams are stripped down of their natural qualities, and manufactured chemicals are added to the formulation instead of natural enzymes found in rare plant extracts. This is why you are left with a white, lifeless skin cream. These chemicals actually dry out your face and make you more reliant on their products.
Standards of Practice
Immortal Opulence is a small company based right here in Connecticut. We hand-select the rare ingredients from around the globe—many from tribal farmers who cultivate wild harvests yet must meet ECOCERT standards. ECOCERT is a worldwide certifier of organic farming products and is accredited to certify organic ingredients according to the NOP standards under the USDA. We make smaller batches under obsessive quality control, which maintains the natural color of the cream without stripping away the powerful enzymes that create the beautiful, silky transformation of your skin.
Only the Best Ingredients
True wild-crafted plants have developed strategies to fight off insects, handle changing environmental conditions, and produce powerful vital nutrients and enzymes to help ensure their survival. Once harvested, they offer more in terms of health benefits and nutrients. Here are three of the special ingredients we have selected and why: 1.Amaranth Oil. The oil is left in its pure virgin form as it never left the seed. This is why the
external application of amaranth oil can help dramatically improve skin quality, slowing the aging of skin and the development of wrinkles and damage due to harsh environments. And surprisingly, amaranth oil also helps protect against other unwanted skin conditions. For external application purposes, amaranth oil is a natural moisturizer that penetrates the skin quickly, leaves no greasy feeling, blends well with other oils, and never irritates the skin.
2.Wild Harvest Prickly Pear Cactus Seed Oil. A Moroccan oil, Prickly Pear contains the most Vitamin E of any beauty oil on the market (150 % more than Argan Oil) and the highest percentage of unsaturated fatty acids (88 %), making it an incredibly powerful oil for skin health. This reduces wrinkles and is a potent free radical scavenger. To make cactus seed oil, farmers harvest the ripe cactus fruit around the end of July. When ripe, the ovoid cactus fruit is slightly soft and has a green to reddish-purple color. The cactus fruit contains a reddish, greenish, yellowish sweet pulp full of black seeds. The seeds are separated from the fruit and dried. It is cold pressed from these seeds.
This oil penetrates deeply without leaving behind a greasy residue. It restores elasticity and brightens the complexion, and its high antioxidant activity stimulates cell renewal, leaving you with fresh, new skin. This oil intensely hydrates the skin and is suitable for all skin types but works particularly well on dry, mature skin. A high linoleic acid content soothes even the most dehydrated skin. Essential fatty acids in prickly pear oil keep the collagen layer of your skin moist and healthy, which keeps
your pores tight. Prickly pear also slows skin aging because it contains the highest levels of betalains of any known plant. Betalains are super antioxidants with powerful anti-aging effects. The high fatty acid content plumps the skin, reducing wrinkles, adding firmness, and intercepting free radical damage, and will not clog your pores.
3.Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil. Sea buckthorn, also known as sea berry, is a small pea-sized fruit rich in over 190 nutrients and Omegas-3, 6, 9, and the elusive Omega-7. Put simply, Omega-7 can help restore the skin’s natural omega balance, protect skin cells, and aid in the healing of cells. The Turkestanica Sea Berry is a subspecies harvested exclusively in the Himalayan Highlands at 12,000 feet above sea level. The harsh conditions in this high mountain area create plants and berries, which must develop powerful vital nutrients and enzymes to help ensure their survival. Once harvested, they offer more in terms of health benefits and nutrients.
The little orange berry used for over 13 centuries is wild-crafted and sustainably harvested and is the world’s richest source of Omega-7. While sea buckthorn grows all across the globe, this harvest comes exclusively from wild-growing fields in the Himalayan Mountains, where a special subspecies of sea buckthorn grows called Turkestanica. With the presence of the legendary SOD (superoxide dismutase), among other valuable nutrients, it makes this sea buckthorn berry oil invaluable for your health and beauty routine. Omega-7 is a special nutrient that protects, replenishes, moistens, and restores the skin. It is arguably a powerful alternative to Botox treatments.
Consider this: Approximately 60% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your bloodstream and then circulates throughout your entire body, possibly affecting your organs, too. This is why we, as consumers, must read labels to keep our bodies healthy. It’s not only what we ingest but what we absorb.
Learn how to truly rejuvenate your skin and cause a dramatic transformation that will maintain your natural beauty with no health concerns to worry about—ever.

Essential Self-Help Energy Medicine Solutions for Stress
By Erika Dworkin, BCHN®
“Chronic stress is a pathological state that results from how we perceive our situation and
react to
it. It
is often rooted in fear—fear of loss, fear of failure, fear of the unknown. These fears fuel resistance to what life brings, and this resistance manifested as stress can eventually lead to disease.”
—Gabor
Maté, MD (2011), When the Body Says No: Understanding the Stress-Disease Connection
Absolutelyeverything is energy, and your feelings of stress are no exception. When thoughts or external events trigger stress, a resulting surge of energy prepares your body to react to a perceived threat. This fight-or-flight response, triggered by the sympathetic nervous system to increase the chances of surviving emergencies, manifests as increased heart rate, muscle tension, shallow breathing, and elevated stress hormones. Energetically, it can be seen as an overload or imbalance, where energy is not flowing naturally but rather is hyper-stimulated or stuck. Fortunately, several self-help energy medicine techniques can provide restorative serenity to empower you to live more vibrantly and effectively.
Practical and Spiritual Drawbacks to Stress
If your fight-or-flight response becomes overactive or chronic, you could experience physical and mental health problems (severe muscle tension, back, neck, and joint pain, cardiovascular, digestive, memory, and cognitive issues, anxiety, or depression), behavioral changes (sleep or eating disorders, substance abuse), relationship difficulties, and reduced quality of life (clouded judgment and impaired decision making).
An unbridled stress response can also lower your vibration (the energy frequency you emit) and negatively impact your spiritual connection and growth. It can block:
1.your intuition and receptiveness to transcendental guidance.
2.your ability to be physically and energetically stable and balanced (grounded) so you remain connected to Earth’s life-sustaining energies. 3.your mental clarity and ability to reflect deeply or maintain a meditative or mindful state, and your body’s energy centers (chakras), resulting in various physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges, including a reduced capacity for compassion and empathy.
The Traditional Medical Approach
Though necessary and supportive in certain circumstances, the prescription medications that conventional practitioners commonly prescribe for stress and resulting anxiety and depression all have potential side effects and risks. These include memory impairment, fatigue, addiction, increased anxiety, decreased libido, and insomnia.
Since medications force your cells, tissues, and organs to behave in ways they would not otherwise, they also interfere with the natural flow of your body’s energy. For example, chemical alteration of your organs’ functions can imbalance your chakras associated with those organs. Second, medications can leave an energetic residue that introduces dissonance into your energetic field (aura), negatively affecting your mood, energy levels, and other aspects of your health and well-being. A critical third reason drugs can be viewed as energetically toxic is that they often address disease symptoms and not root causes. This generally leaves the underlying energetic imbalance unaddressed and can cause chronic and degenerative diseases due to long-term disruptions in energy flow.
Some DIY Energy Medicine Stress Solutions
Since your stress can be viewed as a disruption in your body’s energy systems, energy medicine techniques that you can practice on your own can restore your balance, foster relaxation, and enhance your overall well-being. Some of these are provided below.
Diet Modification and Dietary Supplements
Given that everything is interconnected, high-vibration foods and supplements can support the body’s energy systems and, in turn, its physical function. Foods with the highest energy vibration that support stress management include those that reduce inflammation, stabilize blood sugar, and enhance brain health and mood.
For optimal mental health, focus on eating dark green and cruciferous vegetables, wild-caught fatty fish, fermented foods, nuts and seeds, pure filtered water, calming herbal teas, whole grains in moderation, anti-inflammatory spices (turmeric, ginger), various superfoods, and organic chicken, turkey, and eggs (note, however, that some holistic experts view all animal-sourced foods as low vibration).
Natural remedies that can help manage moderate levels of stress and anxiety safely and without side effects (when taken in proper therapeutic doses and not in conflict with prescription medications) include:
1.the amino acids L-theanine, L-tyrosine, and 5HTP
2.activated B complex, especially in a powdered isotonic delivery system
3.herbs such as ashwagandha, Echinacea angustifolia (as Anxiocalm), and lavender (as an ingestible essential oil)
4.wild yam progesterone cream (especially for menopausal women)
Consciousness Management
Consciousness management, which encompasses cognitive awareness and mindfulness, is particularly critical for stress management. By developing a keen awareness, without judgment, of your beliefs, emotions, and bodily sensations in response to stressors, you can gain critical insights into how you perceive and react to stress. Your increased awareness, in turn, can enable you to identify stress triggers and your habitual reactions to them and thus empower you to interrupt those cycles and choose more deliberate responses. Managing your consciousness and beliefs can ultimately transform your relationship with stress so that you will see it as an opportunity for growth and learning rather than an insurmountable obstacle.
Holy Cow! I just finished a session with Jacqueline Kane & my mind is blown! This is such powerful healing that everything has shifted for me. I can’t recommend Jacqueline enough.

Constant low back means your sacral chakra is not in balance.
An imbalanced sacral chakra is the result of suppressed emotions, feelings and desires. It can also mean you may have had sexual trauma and resist intimacy.

—Erika Dworkin, BCNH®
This approach can be particularly empowering and life-changing if you are in menopause or andropause (male menopause).
You can begin to control your mind and its perception of stress by asking yourself, “What people, events, and situations am I afraid of?” Create a list of all your negative beliefs about those stressors and then consider how they might be viewed differently. How, for example, might they present valuable opportunities, lessons, or awakenings or be seen as less important? Write down the possible positive beliefs for each stressor that you can then work to adopt over time. “Ten Actions You Can Do Today to Start TakingBack Your Life,” from The Avatar Course, is another valuable starting place.
Deep Belly Breathing
Basic deep belly (diaphragmatic) breathing involves inhaling deeply through the nose, allowing the abdomen to expand fully, and then exhaling slowly through the mouth. By shifting you from fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest, you can rebalance your energy and gain control of your reactions to stress.
This type of slow, mindful breathing lowers your heart rate and blood pressure, maximizes the energizing, nourishing oxygen you take into your bloodstream and the toxic carbon dioxide you expel, enhances digestion, improves concentration, and increases mood-elevating chemicals in the brain.
Humming Bee Meditation (Bhramari
Pranayama)
Yogic humming bee breath, known in Sanskrit as bhramari pranayama, is a powerful stress-relieving meditative practice that can positively impact your body’s energy fields and overall wellness through sound vibration. It is an especially ideal sound healing alternative for those who find traditional meditation difficult. It can also be performed directly before silent meditation.
Pranayama translates to an act that controls the flow of vital energy that governs all physiological processes. Bhramari is one form of pranayama, ideally performed for five minutes in the morning and night. It involves a deep belly breath (see above), blocking the ears, and exhaling with a high nasal humming pitch like a bee. You should feel this tone across your face and skull. Different tones can be used with various intentions to produce other physiological changes.
Among other benefits, self-created vibrational humming can calm your mind and support your stress management by:
1.diverting attention from your stressful thoughts.
2.soothing the parts of your brain involved in emotional regulation.
3.improving your sleep patterns by increasing melatonin.
4.lowering your blood pressure and heart rate by increasing nitric oxide and vascular dilation and stimulating the vagus nerve, a critical part of the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) nervous system.
5.increasing the levels of beneficial hormones (endorphins/pain, stress, sense of well-being, and oxytocin/trust or love).
6.increasing lymphatic circulation.
7.reducing cortisol, your primary stress hormone, to relieve anxiety, depression, and irritability.
By working these or other self-help practices (visualization, sleep regulation, yoga, sound bowl, and crystal healing, or Chinese tai chi) into your daily regimen, you will leverage the widely accepted principle that managing your body’s energy can control your emotional and physical health. These practical, accessible techniques will provide you with immediate ways to mitigate stress and contribute to your long-term spiritual and energetic well-being.

Gut Health: The Key to Vibrant Energy
By Dr. Dana Lapointe, ND
Can you relate to this? You wake up feeling tired and sluggish, facing a jam-packed day. You ask yourself, “How on Earth am I supposed to get through this day?” No time to dwell on it—you grab your coffee and off you go.
By lunch, your energy has plummeted. Not just physically, but mentally, too—yawning, brain fog, staring at the screen, or zoning out.
And when it’s time for bed, you’re too wired to sleep. It feels like it takes forever to fall asleep, or you sleep so lightly, tossing and turning, that you feel you haven’t slept at all. And sometimes you doze off for a short time but just can’t seem to stay asleep.
Fighting Fatigue
“Fatigue” is a common complaint to both naturopathic and medical doctors. Low energy, difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems are often misdiagnosed as adrenal fatigue. NDs will often diagnose adrenal insufficiency, recommending adrenal or thyroid supplements. An MD might order an awkward and artificial sleep study. More commonly, though, the solution offered is pharmaceutical—a sleeping pill to knock us out or an addictive antianxiety medication to “calm” us.
And it’s not just doctors getting this question. “How can I increase my energy?” is among the top Google searches! Americans are exhausted. We want more energy, and to get it, we reach for sugar, coffee, tea, chocolate, or “energy” drinks.
However, none of these “fixes” address the root cause of our exhaustion. Our lifestyles often disrupt our diet, exercise, and sleep routines, leading to a vicious cycle of stress. We often try changing everything at once—a recipe for failure that relaunches our stress cycle. Conversely, a reductionistic, symptomatic approach hasn’t solved the underlying problem, either. So, are we even addressing the right things?
Is the Problem Actually in Your Gut?
Tired? We think the problem lies in our adrenals or thyroid. Brain fog? We believe the problem lies in our brains. Can’t sleep? We assume the issue is with our internal clock.
In reality, these issues can point to a problem along the gut-brain axis (GBA). Instead of focusing solely on adrenal, thyroid, or brain issues, consider the GBA as a potential source of and solution to these problems. The GBA is our communication system between our second brain in our gut and our true brain in our head. It influences our energy, focus, concentration, sleep, and more. Its components overlap and its feedback systems are complex and redundant, emphasizing just how important it is.
The good news is that working with the GBA allows a very customizable solution. We know specific probiotic strains play specific roles in our mental wellness—some reduce stress by lowering cortisol, some improve GABA transmission to help us sleep, and some increase our feel-good neurotransmitters, helping us reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood, motivation, and cognition. Knowing this, we can rebalance the biome with probiotics tailored to specific symptoms.
Prebiotic fibers support the colonization of beneficial bacteria, while botanical extracts like guayusa, pomegranate, matcha, and bee pollen can enhance energy, mental clarity, and a feeling of well-being. OPC, a component of grape seed and pine bark, can help improve concentration and focus while lending a calming effect. In Europe, specific OPCs are considered first-line therapy for ADHD.
Although you can’t go wrong with adopting a healthy lifestyle and eating a variety of fiber-rich, fermented foods, consulting a holistic practitioner to help pinpoint exactly which natural solutions will work best for you can shortcut your route to a less stressed and more energetic you.
“Line up ten naturopaths and ask them what their most common patient complaint is—I’m willing to bet the majority of naturopathic doctors will say it’s fatigue. Patients are always asking how they can have more energy and be less tired.”

Life—It’s All Energy
By Sharon Sklar, BFA, LMT, CAR
Everythingin life is energy. We are reminded of this all the time. If you are hiking and tired, hug a tree. Its roots go deep into the earth, and its branches shoot up into the sky. It is a shaft of energy. Hugging a tree helps restore you. Yes, one should be proud to be a tree-hugger!
When a Rolfing® client comes in for a session, I watch that person walk. My eye picks up what’s moving and what’s not moving. I see the stuck areas and understand where their pain is—it’s all about the energy not moving through the body. One hip might be higher than the other or the lower back might not move in rhythm with the rest of the body. Their upper body might be still while the rest of the body has motion. To me, it’s as obvious as light on, light off. My job is to guide that person to release the physical tissue, make new pathways for easier movement, and educate them on how to embody that movement. Rolfing® is done by direct physical manipulation and moving the energy into those quiet, stuck places to juice up the body with more life.
A Four-Legged Anecdote
Energy is everywhere and contributes to everything. My wonderful dog, Spanky, a loving Pet Therapy Team with me at Hartford Hospital (and a steady presence in my Rolfing® office, along with his younger brother, Sunny Boy), was having some issues about a year and a half ago. He seemed to just get old one day and didn’t want to jump into the car, which is his favorite place. He didn’t enjoy our off-leash Sunday five-mile hikes with friends and seemed low-spirited. After a trip to my veterinarian, he was cleared of any real problems. She looked at his shoulders, legs, and back and said to give him doggie anti-inflammatories. He seemed to get marginally better, but still wasn’t right. Was it old age? I didn’t think so, as he was only eight and a half, and it had come on so suddenly.
Then, I remembered the acupuncture-chiropractic veterinarian I hadn’t seen in years because my previous dog did not need her services. It made sense that a Rolfer would choose a more alternative and holistic approach. Why hadn’t I thought about that sooner?! On our first visit, she pointed out a few vertebrae were misaligned and saw and felt some very old emotional trauma. Together, they were blocking his system and making him seem to age quite rapidly.
Energy Healing Can Work for All
Several years ago, when Spanky was a puppy, he was the toughest dog I’d ever raised. He would howl in his crate, bounce the crate across the floor, and be constantly disruptive, and I was at my wit’s end. My then-veterinarian told me to put a blanket over his crate as you would with a parakeet to signal rest time. All Spanky did was shred the entire blanket into four-inch pieces and eat some of it. I was fortunate he didn’t need surgery.
A few years later, a client was starting to learn some interesting energy work and asked me if she could do a healing session on the Spankster. I said absolutely YES! When I saw her two weeks later, she gave me the rundown of the eight-day healing session she had done. I had not mentioned anything about his birth or situation to her, and she knew from this healing work that he was unwanted, and that issues went generations back.
Spanky was part of an “oops” litter. The breeder I had used before had a scheduled breeding for her carefully chosen whippets. Three days after that breeding, another female went into heat. She missed that moment, resulting in a second litter born three days after the first planned breeding. She knew she did not want to breed that female because she was not maternal, among other reasons.
Spanky was born into a world that didn’t want him. His mother walked away from her puppies a
week after their birth, so he and his siblings had to find comfort with the other mother nursing her own puppies. How could one new mother feed and nurture fifteen puppies, half of which weren’t hers? I only knew that my lovely pup had to be shown he mattered and was loved.
So, Spanky’s physical pathology was also a deeply rooted upset that was with him when he came into his life. It’s all about energy. We can heal on so many levels and have so many opportunities to explore those pathways. Our world is bigger and becomes vaster all the time. Discoveries in quantum healing are backed by science, take many forms, and are available for all of us to explore.
Spanky is back to running at warp speed, jumping into the car to sit down next to his brother, and eager and ready to be harnessed in for safety and free to enjoy our travels. He hikes without trouble, runs on the beach with unbridled joy, and is happy. As I hug him, I keep imagining in pictures that he was born to be my puppy, that he deserves the best life and is worthy of love.
The Moral of the Story
Yes, the story is about my dog—but it is true for all of us. The joy I experience with my clients as they move through their blocks, regardless of their physical, spiritual, or emotional stoppages, has me never thinking about retirement. We are able to heal on so many levels to resume the vibrant, happy lives we were meant to have. I see my work as a Rolfer is my way to contribute to this energetic shift that we all must make to be free from pain and heal our lives. I urge you to explore all the ways to bring yourself to a better place, which is your birthright. We are meant to be happy, satisfied, energetic beings with joy and love surrounding us. We are meant to run on the beach and enjoy each day with purpose. Please look for the modalities that will help you on your path. If you choose to explore Rolfing®, I am here for you. Shake it up and enjoy!

Healing Through Mindfulness
By Erin and Marcel Touponse
W“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace, and love.”
—Thich Nhat Hanh
e live in a constant state of forgetfulness. There is a floor beneath our feet, but we are rarely aware of its being there. Looking outside, we see the blue sky but do not acknowledge our eyes for the sight of it. When we hear the birds sing, we often do not consider the beautiful gift our ears bring us. How would we feel if we could no longer see the blue sky or hear the sound of birds?
As a Reiki Master Teacher, I often tell my students that Reiki is the foundation of healing. During Reiki, we become a channel of pure light. The luminous energy of the Universe flows through us and into our clients, realigning and removing energetic blocks of congestion, stress, and tension.
Being Mindul, Present, and Aware
If Reiki is the foundation of healing, mindfulness is most assuredly the fertile soil upon which that foundation is built. Our bodies are here, but our minds are very rarely where our bodies are. When we shift our attention from forgetfulness to awareness, we become more in tune with the thoughts and emotions that govern our lives.
Being present helps us create space from the guilt, grief, and shame of the past. We become free from the spinning thoughts and anxieties of the future. In this moment, we are safe. In this moment, nothing can happen to us that we cannot handle. In this moment, we are free, loved, and limitless.
Being mindful means being present. In “this moment,” we are able to become observers. We are often unaware of the seeds our thoughts and emotions are watering. When we slow down and focus on our thought patterns and emotions, we become more in tune with what is happening in the garden of our inner being.
Thoughts of invalidation and unworthiness are simply patterns learned from childhood traumas and unhealed wounds. These patterns replay over and over again until we decide to stop them from proliferating. Mindful observation allows us to decide not only to cease poisonous and destructive thought patterns but also to plant positive affirmations to assist us in growing toward our truest nature.
Embrace the Negative to Change for the Positive
If, when we are fearful, we hear ourselves saying, “I am a failure, I hate myself,” through mindfulness, we can catch those thoughts in the net of understanding and replace them with something more positive and helpful. “I am so grateful that I am aware that I am having this thought. I don’t have to think this anymore.”
Mindful living allows us to focus on our intentions so we can grow fruitful harvests instead of poisonous ones. It assists us in processing emotion, which is needed to maintain a healthy body. Emotions are like wind blowing through the branches of our being. If we are constantly full of storms, the body’s energy reserves grow depleted and fall into decline and exhaustion. By acknowledging and accepting difficult emotions, we are free to release them and reestablish much-needed peace within us.
Developing a mindfulness practice can unwind destructive thought patterns and harmful emotions, restoring health and wellness. This practice can take as little as five minutes a day (the time it takes to make coffee). By shining a light of awareness within, we experience the calm, peaceful acceptance that grows all around us.
Bringing mind and body together through mindful awareness has limitless benefits, including better sleep, less anxiety, a more positive outlook, and releasing difficult emotions.
The seeds planted through mindful thought and cultivated emotion grow beautiful harvests. By exiting the realm of forgetfulness and stepping into each moment more fully, the doorways to true health and wellness are unlocked and opened. Open your door today.

Unwrap the Gift of Reiki
By Ann Moureau
“Reiki is supportive. There is no judgment. Regardless of your path, process, or lifestyle, Reiki moves with you. No belief system is necessary to practice Reiki. Reiki supports you in becoming your potential.”
—Ann Moureau
Every so often, I hear a proclamation for a specific product, book, or technique that helped catalyze positive change and desired results in a person’s health, relationships, and life. I listen, check in with my inner self, and then decide if what has been presented is appropriate for me. Sometimes, I must suspend my current view of reality or belief system to allow space for the new. Being aware of my walls and then choosing to maintain them or not is a process that reveals myself to me.
Balance
When I first learned of Reiki, an ancient system of hands-on healing, everything about it pressed into the walls of my reality. My walls were soft due to several years of studying holistic health, so some concepts Reiki holds were familiar, such as it being holistic in its healing—meaning its healing addresses the whole person, as opposed to addressing only the symptoms of imbalance and disease. The whole person is more than the physical body; a person’s mind, emotions, and spirit are included and honored in holistic healing.
Another familiar point of connection between previous holistic study and Reiki is the absence of a magical anything that is going to “fix” a person without personal commitment and, if needed, make lifestyle or conceptual changes. Whether the medicine is homeopathic, chiropractic, allopathic, yoga, herbs, acupuncture, Qigong, nutrition, or flower essences, it works with the body and the being to bring the organism back into balance. From this place of balance, the body heals itself. And so it is with Reiki.
The Importance of Trust
With Reiki treatment, healing energy comes through the Reiki practitioner’s hands and into the recipient’s head and body, connecting with the recipient’s innate healing wisdom. The person
receiving Reiki determines the amount of healing energy received through their openness and need level. This aspect of Reiki pressed into my wall of trust—surrendering and trusting a source greater than myself. Trusting that all I, as the practitioner, need to do is be willing to serve as a conduit for Reiki, and allow and trust that the recipient is receiving the perfect healing they need.
Each time I open more in trust, I relinquish another bit of control. Fortunately, surrendering through the gift of Reiki is gentle and supported with unconditional love.
What’s Love Got to Do With It?
We need the energy that surrounds us to be alive, just as we need the air that we breathe. Reiki is translated from Japanese as Spirit-Guided Universal Life Energy, chi, ki, or prana. This is the breath of the Creator. Reiki is a concentrated dose of Spirit-Guided Universal Life Energy, also considered unconditional love.
This teaching brought me smack into my wall of worthiness. Reiki has helped me immensely in my feelings of self-worth. I am worthy of the gift of unconditional love. As I open more fully to this truth, I release the erroneous belief that I need to perform, achieve, or prove myself worthy of receiving. Instead, I know that I am worthy to receive because I exist. It is my birthright.
I have learned to trust the beauty of simplicity. Somewhere, I picked up the interpretation that complexity, technology, and difficulty proved valid. Through the practice of yoga, I learned to honor the power of simplicity. When Reiki, in its simplicity, was presented, that wall had been softened. Reiki’s technique can be called the no-way-to-messit-up style. Simplicity is a solid foundation. Reiki is supportive in helping build a solid foundation within oneself based on the truth of oneself.
Reiki for Healthy Relationships
Being a practitioner and giving Reiki treatments to others, including animals, is one expression of Reiki. Receiving Reiki from a practitioner is another. A third application of Reiki is giving yourself Reiki treatment. Self-Reiki is the basis of this healing system. To fully embrace the healing potential of Reiki, giving self-treatment is ideally a daily practice, though Reiki can also be quite effective when practiced less frequently.
It was at this point that I bumped into the wall that held the detrimental belief that giving care, time, and nurturing to myself was selfish. Hidden behind the curtained partition of this wall was the unspoken contract I made with each person that they would take care of me. What a painful setup for feeling victimized, disappointed, and resentful in relationships with others and life.
Life and relationships have clarified and become more enjoyable because of my self-Reiki practice and my ability to take responsibility for myself and my needs. With confidence, I speak my needs, trusting that I am worthy of being heard and receiving what I need or desire. Giving to others comes from a healthy place of abundance within myself instead of my neediness.
Reiki feels deeply relaxing, comforting, and restorative. It is a wonderful way to support my whole being and my health. Reiki also allows me to connect with my higher self. The mind quiets during Reiki treatment, and answers and solutions float easily into my awareness. My mind feels clear, creative, balanced, and peaceful following treatment.
Reiki is supportive. There is no judgment. Regardless of your path, process, or lifestyle, Reiki moves with you. No belief system is necessary to practice Reiki. Reiki supports you in becoming your potential.
Feelings of gratitude bathe me when I acknowledge Reiki in my life. If your inner self is telling you to receive Reiki treatment and or to attend class and learn how to treat yourself, go for it! Open yourself to this simple and magnificent system of natural healing. The gift of Reiki is here for all of us, just waiting to be unwrapped.
Ann Moureau has been practicing Reiki for thirty-three years and teaching Reiki for twenty-four years. Unlocking Vitality: How the BioCharger ® NG Revolutionizes Wellness With Earth’s Energies
By Michele Beaule, Owner of Imagine Float
“Energy therapy revitalizes the body and mind, providing the vital energies our cells require to heal, recover, and rejuvenate. Just like any electronic device needs recharging, so does our body, and Earth’s natural energies are as essential as food for our wellness.”
—Michele Beaule
In an age when stress and modern lifestyles deeply affect our health, we find ourselves more disconnected from nature than ever. Most of us spend 93% of our lives indoors, far from the natural energies our bodies crave for wellness. The question arises: Could this disconnection be a factor in our illnesses and general malaise?
Harnessing the Power of Earth’s Energies
Energy therapy revitalizes the body and mind, providing the vital energies our cells require to heal, recover, and rejuvenate. Just like any electronic device needs recharging, so does our body, and Earth’s natural energies are as essential as food for our wellness. However, with our indoor lifestyles, we frequently overlook these natural energies.
The Refreshing Feel of Nature
Have you ever felt rejuvenated after a hike or a walk on the beach? It’s not just the fresh air or the sunlight—reconnecting with Earth’s inherent energies can restore strength, stamina, and mental clarity. When our body’s energy is out of tune, everything from physical performance to recovery from stress suffers.
Introducing BioCharger® NG at Imagine Float
Imagine Float is thrilled to introduce the BioCharger® NG, a revolutionary device that brings nature’s healing powers indoors. It’s the only system designed to replicate and amplify Earth’s natural energies using a combination of voltage, pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), light, frequencies, and harmonics—all in a noninvasive, fifteen-minute session.
Understanding the Four Types of Energies
• Voltage: Essential for cellular health, adequate voltage in our cells enhances nutrient uptake, detoxification, and new cell generation.
• PEMF: Enhanced grounding energy that reduces pain and inflammation and improves overall bodily functions like circulation and immunity without direct contact.
• Light: Not ordinary light, but therapeutic light generated from elemental gases, improving sleep, mood, skin health, and nutrient intake.
• Frequencies and Harmonics: These energies restore cellular balance, promoting recovery, reducing stiffness, and enhancing mobility.
Transforming Wellness: Alexandra’s Breakthrough with the BioCharger® NG
“Felt so good the night of doing the BioCharger® NG with you. I went back last night to do it, so that’s two days in a row, and my concussion symptoms have decreased. My headaches, fatigue, and dizziness have lessened, and I feel the best I’ve felt in a while. I am doing the sauna tonight, and I’m going to do it again. Really think there’s something here!” —Alexandra N.
Experiencing the BioCharger® NG
Using the BioCharger® NG is a subtle experience, often producing sensations like tingling or warmth in areas of inflammation. Setting intentions for sessions can enhance feelings of rejuvenation and improve sleep quality. Much like faith, the benefits are sometimes intangible but deeply felt, requiring an open mind to new forms of healing.
A New Staple in Our Memberships
Including the BioCharger® NG in ALL membership options at Imagine Float is part of our commitment to providing the greatest value with the most innovative and beneficial wellness services. By offering access to this modern form of energy medicine, we provide our members with a proactive approach to health, emphasizing that our bodies have the innate capability to heal themselves when given the right stimuli.
As we navigate a world increasingly isolated from natural energies, the BioCharger® NG offers an essential solution, reconnecting us with the vital forces that sustain and rejuvenate us. At Imagine Float, we are always looking to enhance our services, ensuring that every visit improves your quality of life, energizes your body, and elevates your spirit. Experience this modern energy medicine at Imagine Float and discover how to enhance your cellular function and overall well-being.

Can Increasing the Energy in Your Brain Really Help You Heal?
By Dr. Lori Calabrese, MD
Decades
“When you’re in the fastingmimicking state that ketogenic therapy creates, your body is doing its own repair and clearing out damaged cells…. It uses the energy you get from ketones to replace them with new ones, which can have profound healing potential.”
—Dr. Lori Calabrese, MD
of research reveal that when you have an energy deficit in the brain, dysfunction and damage result. A newly published study from Stanford University demonstrates that even severe psychiatric disorders are tied to brain energy deficits. But you can turn your brain energy around on a dime by switching to superior, alternative energy sources—and that newfound energy can be sustaining. Get ready to power up.
Fuel: Glucose vs. Ketones
You know how it happens… We go along living our lives and aren’t aware of the drama going on every day in the cells of our brains—a war between two forms of energy vying to dominate. Remember the Little Engine That Could? Think of the steam engine that pulls that train. Should the stoker shovel wood and coal, or maybe bamboo or daffodils, into the fire to keep the train going?
Or what if he chose bread? Or cookies? (Sounds silly, I know, but stay with me…)
All of hese will burn, but which will create the greatest power for the steam engine to pull the train?
Just as the fuel he chooses to run the train matters, so does the fuel you choose to run your brain. Your brain uses an enormous amount of energy. And the way you stoke the fire that runs your brain—and your entire body—is by eating one type of food or another.
When you stoke your fire with high-carb and ultra-processed foods—like bread, starchy vegetables, pizza, and sweets—it burns fast, then the power drops to nothing after that initial burst. When that happens, the cells in your body and brain find themselves in trouble.
However, when you stoke your fire with nutrient-dense whole foods and healthy fats that provide ketones for your cells to use, your cells thrive. Memory cells remember better. Emotion cells function with more balanced emotion. Cells that have been firing randomly and sparking anger, rage, fear, or panic—or paranoia, migraines, or even seizures—stabilize, and you can feel calm. Life can get easy.
Long story short: Cells that run on ketones get what they need to function at their best.
Mitochondria Are the Key to Pretty Much Everything
Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell, and they create every single ounce of energy we have. That energy is called ATP. And we have hundreds to thousands of mitochondria in each brain cell. Think about that for a second. Every time you make one good choice for them, the energy they produce is amplified thousands of times within and across millions of the cells in your brain and throughout your body.
Here’s the thing: Mitochondria run on either glucose or ketones. Those are the two fuel sources that stoke them. Glucose comes from sugars, carbs, and protein breakdown. Ketones come from fats and body fat breakdown—and your body produces them naturally from healthy fats you eat (and from your own body fat) when you keep sugars and carbs very low.
The brain prefers to use ketones for energy. That’s because mitochondria that run on ketones produce considerably more energy (much more ATP) than mitochondria that run on glucose.
Period. Molecule for molecule. This is why ketones are more efficient than glucose as fuel for your cells.
Ketones produce more energy than glucose does for each brain cell and throughout your body. Multiply that by thousands or millions. And your brain energy gets better and better over days, weeks, and months. So, for the best possible energy, the deepest kind of energy healing, and the most robust brain health, we want to shift our bodies, our brains, and our mitochondria from using glucose for fuel to ketones.
Bottom line: Mitochondria create all the energy in your brain and throughout your body and are the absolute biological key to energy healing.
Enter an Ancient Healing Tool: Fasting
Fasting is a tool that’s been used for thousands of years to induce healing.
Fasting puts a cell under good stress and taps into the body’s innate ability to heal and repair itself, incorporating processes that remove old and defective parts of the cell and stimulating cellular repair and regeneration. These processes also clean out, remove, and repair defective mitochondria so they can be replaced.
Fasting ignites healing.
A diet that mimics fasting, such as a wellformulated, nutritional ketogenic diet, has the same effect as fasting. In psychiatry, we call it a fasting-mimicking diet. It changes your metabolism and dramatically reduces inflammation. How? Mitochondria, again, and a number of cascades related to their actions can turn inflammation on and off, so shifting your mitochondrial fuel can turn off unnecessary inflammatory processes—and prevent them from getting started in the first place.
When you’re in the fasting-mimicking state that ketogenic therapy creates, your body is doing its own repair and clearing out damaged cells. (We call that autophagy, and for mitochondria, mitophagy). It uses the energy you get from ketones to replace them with new ones, which can have profound healing potential.
Ketones you make, not buy. We harness your own body’s potential to do this. Every body has this potential, no matter how old, how bad, or how off it feels.
There are certain cells we would all like cleared out, including cancer cells, cells involved in autoimmune disorders, damaged cells that line blood vessels, cells, and byproducts that affect mood, cognition, well-being, and so on.
And get this: Extensive research on the brain in psychiatry and neurology, along with basic science, has helped to identify clear metabolic dysfunction in brain cells and cells throughout the body. That metabolic dysfunction is related to
“Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell, and they create every single ounce of energy we have. That energy is called ATP. And we have hundreds to thousands of mitochondria in each brain cell. Think about that for a second. Every time you make one good choice for them, the energy they produce is amplified thousands of times.”
—Dr. Lori Calabrese, MD
insulin resistance, inflammation, oxidative stress, and changes in neurotransmitter systems and networks. Even changes in the gut microbiome are communicated to the brain, which can dramatically improve brain energy.
It may be surprising to realize that these metabolic issues are present in people with major depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and even ADHD. And the great news is that ketogenic metabolic—or, more simply said, a therapeutic, personalized ketogenic diet—can improve or silence all of them!
So when you hear metabolic, don’t just think metabolism. Think mitochondria. Think ATP. Think real energy. Think healing.
We can walk that walk with you.
Nutritional Ketosis Can Fix Cells in Crisis
The beauty of ketogenic metabolic therapy is that it’s actually a holistic and deeply biologic strategy. Since ketones produce so much more ATP energy in mitochondria than glucose ever can, with this approach, your cells can have abundant energy. Hundred-milers use it, and they never “hit the wall”—seriously!
Your entire body is run by a steam engine— your brain. Not only your emotions and behavior but your organs, your muscles, everything. When the brain’s energy needs are met with abundance, you’re on fire (very cool), but you’re not firing off (in fact, you’re super cool). Your whole body benefits.
You, your brain, your mind, and your very self shine.
Food as Medicine
Ketogenic metabolic therapy uses food as medicine to support a fundamental metabolic shift from glucose to ketone bodies as the primary fuel source. By helping your body enter therapeutic nutritional ketosis, you can ignite the healing processes your mind and body need.
We show you how. Our approach is specifically designed to amplify your brain energy and decrease random firing that’s not needed. It includes a dietary therapy high in healthy whole foods
and healthy fat, the right amount of protein for you, and low in carbohydrates. A diet like this can become a lifestyle you can take with you wherever you go, and it can include fish such as salmon and trout, scallops and shrimp, chicken, marbled beef, and lamb. And high health fat foods like avocados, sour cream, eggs, cheese, olive and coconut oils, butter, cream, and a wide variety of green leafy vegetables and others of all colors. Abundance galore—in the proper ratios.
We focus on can instead of can’t. We focus on the fact that fat is not a four-letter word when it’s on your plate.

The Art Behind Intuitive Design
By Kelly McCarthy
Iama storyteller of souls, an intuitive who has the ability to see within the living as well as those who have passed. Whether human or animal, I share the messages I receive by tapping into the medicine of my ancestors, Mother Earth, and the animal kingdom, bringing clarity, consciousness, or, at times, even closure for my clients. My intuitive art is the ripple that derives from this gift.
Art Is Subjective
Growing up, I never fit into the traditional art class. My teachers were often frustrated with my inability to follow their instructions as I simply didn’t see art as they did. I was told what to draw and how to draw it, never quite embodying the happiness I knew art created within me when I created what I saw in my mind’s eye. I had what instructors called raw talent but was told it would never amount to anything if I didn’t have a disciplined practice of understanding and creating from the foundation of art history and following the techniques developed by someone else. To me, art is subjective and should be experienced by each individual as they saw it, not as they were told to see it. And so I put down my pens, watercolors, and brushes and went down a different path, only creating art for me when I felt called to it.
Digital Art Opened Doors, Eyes, and Minds
Decades later, digital art appeared. I didn’t jump on the bandwagon for years in fear of my lack of knowledge concerning technology—but when I finally did, it opened my world to creating the masterpieces I could only see in my mind’s eye. The ability to create without the limitation of not being able to draw what I saw was pure magic. Without thought or a plan, I began to play with elements, textures, and photos, layering them over and over and creating stories within my art for people to
explore, much like an Oracle card does for those who pull them for clarity and insight. It all began with the idea to create my Animal Wisdom candle line. Each candle includes a downloadable digital Oracle card representing the animal with a message from my ancestors received in meditation. From there, I created a greeting card line using my designs and made them into my business cards. The more people saw them, the more interest I received in my artwork and the unique process of how it’s made, ultimately leading me to offer my services as an intuitive graphic artist.
How Does Intuitive Design Work?
My process is quite simple. I go into any new project with no expectations of what I think someone wants. By bypassing conscious control, I can access a deeper level of creativity and insight as they share pieces of their stories with me in a relaxed conversation through video chat. During our call, I tap into their subconscious mind, where hidden thoughts, dreams, and memories reside, weaving a design in my third eye, assisted by my guides. From there, I begin the process of staying in the present moment, often entering a meditative state, which helps me recreate what I see, hear, and feel from the session, staying in alignment with my client’s needs.
Each piece we co-create together is a journey with the individual’s soul, often leading them to more mindfulness in their daily life, clarity to what they genuinely want, expansion of their conscious awareness to who they want to become, and in many cases, even healing of old wounds they didn’t even know still existed. My intuitive art is not merely about the art itself; it’s about the deep, energetic connection we share during our time together that expands their awareness of themselves, creating a freedom of expression and a profound journey of self-discovery and healing.
“To me, art is subjective and should be experienced by each individual as they saw it, not as they were told to see it.”

—Agnes Daddona
Unveiling the Blocks to Abundance
Many of us carry hidden emotional baggage— limiting beliefs, past hurts, and self-doubt—that act as weeds, choking the fertile ground of our potential. Healing is the first step toward clearing these obstacles. By acknowledging these blocks, we can begin to understand their root causes.
Planting Seeds of Awareness
Once we’ve loosened the soil and cleared the weeds, it’s time to plant the seeds of our desires. Mindfulness is a powerful tool for this step. Through practices like meditation, journaling, and self-reflection, we cultivate present-moment awareness. This allows us to tune into our inner guidance, identify what truly nourishes us, and release the need to control outcomes.
Cultivating Rich Soil
Just as a gardener uses diverse tools to enrich the soil, we can turn to a variety of spiritual practices to nurture our inner landscape. Here are some powerful tools that I can guide you through:
• Intuitive Readings: With my honed intuition, I can shed light on your unique energetic blueprint, revealing hidden talents and soul potential and illuminating the path toward a beautiful future.
These practices are not quick fixes; they are part of a holistic approach toward self-discovery and transformation. I act as a skilled guide, walking alongside you as you cultivate a fertile inner ground where abundance can flourish.
The Power of Manifestation: Tending Your Garden
With clear intention, a healed emotional landscape, and the fertile soil of spiritual practices, it’s time to nurture your desires. Manifestation isn’t about forcing the universe to bend to your will; it’s about aligning yourself with the natural flow of abundance. By setting clear intentions, taking inspired action, and fostering an attitude of gratitude, you co-create abundance with the universe.
Living a Life Overflowing with Abundance
Abundance isn’t just about financial security; it’s a multi-faceted tapestry woven from vibrant threads of health, joy, fulfilling relationships, and a deep sense of purpose. It’s living a life aligned with your authentic self, where you feel empowered to contribute your unique gifts to the world. Let me be the bridge—a skilled guide who can help you embark on this transformative journey.
Through a combination of healing modalities, mindfulness practices, and spiritual exploration, I can empower you to:
•Uncover and Release Blocks: identify and release limiting beliefs and emotional baggage holding you back.
•Embrace Mindfulness: Develop presentmoment awareness to guide your decisions and connect with your inner wisdom.
•Activate Your Intuition: Learn to trust your inner knowing and navigate life’s path with greater clarity.
•Cultivate Gratitude: Develop an attitude of gratitude that attracts even more abundance into your life.
This path toward abundance isn’t always linear. There will be times when shadows resurface and moments when doubt whispers in your ear. However, with a commitment to growth and support, you can learn to navigate these challenges with grace.
Remember, abundance isn’t a destination; it’s a journey of continuous growth and self-discovery.
As you cultivate fertile soil within, you become a magnet for abundance in all its forms. Are you ready to blossom where you’re planted?
As you embark on your journey to cultivate abundance, I would like to extend you a helping hand, to guide and support you every step of the way. Through my readings, healing sessions, workshops, and meditations, I offer transformative tools and guidance to help you unlock your potential and manifest abundance in all areas of your life.
Whether you seek to break free from limiting beliefs, cultivate a mindset of gratitude, or align with your deepest desires, my services are designed to empower you to live a life of joy, fulfillment, and abundance. Together, let us embark on this journey toward abundance, where you can awaken to the infinite possibilities within you and create the life you truly desire. Let us make abundance not just a destination but a way of life—a way of being rooted in gratitude, joy, and love.
