Natural Woman Magazine was on the scene March 21st & 22nd at the Miss Jessie’s Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo in Baltimore, Maryland. This was an awesome event that attracted thousands of Natural hair consumers and families. With over 70 vendors, Live entertainment act, a Project Natural Run Way Hair Show, A Holistic Relationships panel and to top it all off a guest appearance and book reading by Miko Branch the CEO of Miss Jessie’s. Natural Woman was on the scene with all of the ins and outs so get your fingers ready and turn the page..

The 13th annual Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo was held at the 5th regimen armory. This is was the kick off of the Evolution of a Natural Revolution 2015 citywide expo tour. The Baltimore Natural Hair care expo is one of the largest Natural Hair events in the state of Maryland. With a focus on Beauty and fashion from a cultural perspective the Natural Hair Care Expo serves as a vital tool in the Natural Hair Movement not only does the show celebrate the new found love for our natural hair it serves as an educational platform for teaching proper natural hair care, health and wellness, and cooperative economics.

Malaika Tamu Cooper Malaika-Tamu Cooper is the owner and operator of Dredz N Heads Natural Hair Care Center located in Baltimore Maryland. Malaika is the founder of the Baltimore Natural Hair Care Holistic Beauty and Wearable Art tradeshow and expose as well as Baltimore Happy Nappy day event coordinator. She states “it has always been my ministry to educate people about their natural hair, its beauty, significance, and bring them back to their natural states; mind, body and soul”. Ultimately, empowering people to become entrepreneurs. Her passion is giving opportunities to our young black woman who may not fit into Corporate America and equip them with lifelong skills. Enabling them to be independent and self-sufficient. She continues to touch the lives of many not only in the industry but personally as well. Remembering home … where it all began. If it is Gods’ will it is Malaika’s way! The Holistic Relationships
Discussion Panel
The Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo teamed up with Inside Body Holisitc Life Therapies for the first Inside Body Health Pavilion. Inside Body is a Holistic practice creaed by Lead Holisitic Therapist Dr. Consir Thot. This years pavilion focused on Holisitic Relationships and our health. Dr. Consir’s Holistic Relationships workshops and panel discussions were created to bring healthy dialogue among individuals on the current state of Black relationships. The Holistic workshops and discussion
panels help the audience find a holistic approach when dealing with situations by understanding the male and female perspectives when building relationships. Moderated by Dr. Consir this traveling workshop panel that is currently touring with the Natural Hair Care Expo Evolution Tour. The panel discussions are audience interactive with a panel of Holistic relationship experts.

Meet Miko Branch The CEO of Miss Jessie’s Natural Hair Care company made a special appearance at the Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo. Miko shared a few pages from her upcoming book “Miss Jessie’s: Creating a Successful Business from Scratch---Naturally”. This was the kick off to Miko’s book tour. Her book is set to release April 15th. Miko received lots of love at the expo especially sister love from all of the women in the natural hair care community and beyond to help fill the loss of her late sister and business partner Titi Branch.
