On behalf of the NAWBO-Indianapolis Board of Directors and our chapter membership, I’m delighted to welcome you to Trailblazers 2021, our 16th Annual Trailblazers Awards. NAWBO-Indianapolis is the premier women’s organization in Indiana and a leader in the 60 chapters across the nation. 16th Annual Trailblazers Luncheon Trailblazers began in 2005 as NAWBO-Indianapolis sought to have successful women business leaders in the community share their stories with other woman entrepreneurs. From that first panel of inspiring women to the ones here today, Trailblazers has annually sparked conversations about how to grasp opportunities, overcome challenges, build successful careers and businesses, balance work and family and give back to community.

Each panelist’s willingness to open her heart and share her journey has had a lasting impact on other women. Their vision and determination are inspiring, and the trails they have blazed continue to move women forward everywhere. 2021 Trailblazers Moderator: Dolly Serrant

Indy Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council Director Dolly M. Serrant is a Latina born and raised in Puerto Rico. She is currently serving as the Indy Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council Director and BOI Business Coach. Part of her responsibilities is providing overall strategic vision and operational implementation for the maintenance and the expansion of programs to support Hispanic businesses in Central Indiana. Previously, she worked as the Director for the Indiana Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs and has an Advertising and Public Relations background. Her academic preparation includes a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Advertising and two master’s degrees; one in Communications, specializing in Public Relations; the other in Business Administration focused on International Business and Strategic Leadership. Such degrees were completed at the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Navarra, Spain. Dolly also has multiple Continuing Education Units (CEUs), including a thesis and an international investigation project regarding the practice of virtual public relations. Her commitment and passion for helping others got her involved with some of Indy’s non-profit associations to benefit entrepreneurs and students. Dolly is co-moderator of the Entrepreneurship segment of the Indiana Latino Expo Show Program with Telemundo Indy. In addition to supporting local businesses and non-profits, Dolly serves on several boards, committees, and taskforces & volunteer efforts such as:

Providing Scholarship and Education for Women Entrepreneurs The Indianapolis chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners formed the NAWBO-Indy Foundation in 2012. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that seeks to foster and provide education that improves the capabilities of women entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs. In addition, our mission is to provide scholarship funding for women entrepreneurs and to educate the public regarding entrepreneurship and related educational opportunities available to women. NAWBO-Indianapolis aims to strengthen the wealth creating capacity of women business owners and to promote economic development within the entrepreneurial community so that we can build a legacy of success for the next generation of women entrepreneurs.

Jane Beaman General Manager, PickUp Business at Cummins, Inc. As General Manager of the PickUp Business, Jane is responsible for ensuring that Cummins continues to deliver on our brand promise of dependability. Jane’s leadership is vital to strengthening our partner relationships and creating business opportunities across the globe. Jane started her career with Cummins in 2004 as a RapidServe Engineer, gaining valuable frontline experience with our customers and products. Over the years, Jane has held various commercial positions in Warranty, Quality, Pricing, VPI Marketing, Account Management and General Management. Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Computer Information Systems from IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is Six Sigma Green Belt and Sponsor Certified. Jane has also completed Cummins prestigious Global Leadership Development Program and was a 2018 recipient of IBJ’s Forty under 40 award. Jane is passionate about mentoring and coaching and mentors a circle of 5-10 Cummins employees at any given time. She also serves as Executive Sponsor to North Carolina Agriculture and Technical College. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and best friend, Danny and her son, Daniel (14) and daughter, Ava (12). In her spare time, she likes to read and spend time with her family.

Jill Hall President, Repro Graphix

In December 1985, while engaged to be married, Jill and her husband first established Repro Graphix in Evansville, Indiana. Three years later, they expanded into Indianapolis and currently operate three locations in the Hoosier state. Over five years ago, on their 30th anniversary, their daughter Caroline joined the team in a leadership role. They are thrilled with the innovation and growth she’s bringing to the business and community, and are excited to continue woman leadership within the company! Repro Graphix’ core business has always been print and distribution of construction documents. They have offered printed graphics from day one, but over the years they have grown substantially as they offer a wide range of environmental and display graphics creations – their Instagram page (@ReproGraphix) is the best place to visit for visuals and inspiration to get your wheels turning regarding how you can creatively display your own brand! Through Repro Graphix, the Hall’s regularly support over two dozen industry organizations and have served on numerous boards and committees for many. Jill has served on the boards of St. Mary’s Child Center, Indiana Subcontractors Association (ISA), The YMCA and is a Past President for both NAWBO Indy and the NAWBO Foundation Board. Jill and her husband co-chaired Key to the Cure for the St. Vincent Foundation, the Night of Miracles for St. Mary’s Child Center and served on the committee for the YMCA’s Revolution Ball. Jill is especially proud of the involvement and contributions her company

makes by supporting over 50 not-for-profit, charitable groups in the community. It has always been their philosophy to support and give back to local businesses and organizations; they feel blessed that their company has allowed them to perpetuate this involvement. Repro Graphix has become a leader in their industry and Jill contributes that to not only a lot of hard work, but to the tenured and talented staff that represents the Repro team. Jill’s main focus is the day-to-day management of the team, as well as business development. Building strong client relationships and delivering complete customer satisfaction has always been the number one goal!

Evelyn Magley CEO, The Basketball League

The Basketball League (TBL). America’s newest men’s professional basketball league debuted in January of 2019 in 10 cities across the country with Evelyn Magley as CEO. Magley at 61 made history by becoming the first woman and African American to own a professional men’s sports league in the U.S. Upon hearing of her being the first, Magley replied: “Well, it’s taken long enough.” Now in its 3rd year, TBL has 29+ cities for the 2021 Season, with 45+ markets to open 2022. A Music Educator and Music Therapist, Evelyn has a passion for positively impacting the lives of young people. As a graduate from the University of Kansas she co-founded “Children with Purpose,” an inner-city ministry focused on mentoring children through the gospel, academic services, hot meals, and music. “Believing that creating a “safe place” for children to learn and advance in their academia , social skills and spirituality brings a positive impact to any community,” said Magley. Evelyn became the first African American to teach at Bradenton Christian School, the largest private Christian School in Manatee county in Bradenton, FL. Breaking the color barrier as a teacher in a school located in the south, founded in 1960 after Brown v. Board of Education to “educate its own” was an enlightening experience. “I was given an opportunity to “change the status quo” for the children attending that school.” Over the next 13 years she worked relentlessly to bring thousands of students of different ethnicities together to minister together through music to youth at over 95 local congregations and synagogues locally. “With the help of God I was able to not only teach music but use music as a tool to break down the racial divide.” The youth and community responded and a $3.7 million Fine Arts Building was constructed to house and educate students in a music program that grew to an 89% participation rate under her tutelage. 20 | N A W B O - I N D I A N A P O L I S

Evelyn is the former Director of Community Engagement at the Brampton A’s of the National Basketball League (NBL) of Canada. As a liaison she scaled the forward facing programming of the NBL, professional basketball teams, and nonprofit organizations within the community at large. It was there that she saw how a professional basketball organization can become an asset to the community. The Canadian culture in Brampton, Ontario was all inclusive with a willingness to serve their community by working together with corporations, not-for-profit organizations and professional sports leagues irrespective of race or ethnicity. I was enlightened while in Canada that we still have a lot to learn in the United States concerning diversity and I’m hopeful that TBL can be an impetus that brings communities together both locally, nationally and internationally through a simple game called Basketball.” Evelyn sets the direction of TBL and its day to day operations. The Basketball League (TBL) is dedicated to delivering a World Class Professional Basketball experience to our community, our fans, and business partners: •P rovide communities with a professional basketball team that gives an affordable/quality family entertainment experience. •P rovide players with educational opportunities to learn from nationally acclaimed life skills classes for financial literacy, health and wellness, nutrition, preventative medicine and sports biomechanics. •O ffer support and encouragement to local communities through engagement in school and group appearances, youth camps, clinics and non-profit organizations. •A fford basketball players the opportunity to make a living playing the game they love, in America. •P rocure local individuals or groups an opportunity to own a professional sports business. A relatively low cost barrier to entry, a proven game plan to success, with a return on their investment while positively impacting their region. Evelyn is the mother of 4 college graduates who attended school on full athletic and academic scholarships. She has been married for 40 years to David Magley, President of TBL. They are grandparents of 7 grandchildren.

Natalie Roberts Vice President of Employer Engagement, Vital Incite

Natalie Roberts spent 25 years in C-suite management with Monarch Beverage Company as an action-oriented leader. During her tenure at Monarch, her responsibilities ranged from Finance, Human Capital, Marketing, Risk Management, Customer Service to Government and Public Affairs. In 2021 she changed careers and now serves as the Vice President of Employer Engagement for Vital Incite, a Population Health Strategy and Solutions organization. In her new role, she can follow her passion for helping high-performing, peoplefirst organizations make strategic decisions that eliminate medical waste, reduce medical spending, and improve the health outcomes of their members. She serves as a Board of Trustee for Franklin College, on the Board of Directors for the 500 Festival Foundation, and the Executive Board of Directors for Raffles Insurance. The Indy Star recognized her as “Women Who Inspire” and by the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” to watch. She completed the Hoosier Fellow program through the Tobias Center for Leadership and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin College and her MBA from the University of Indianapolis. She has two beautiful children, a son and a daughter, and has been married to her middle school sweetheart for 23 years.
