FINAL MAJOR PROJECT ( YEAR 3 )
DESIGN INSPIRATION The proposed collection is inspired by the idea of self-identity and unveiling the different layers of personality. It focuses on understanding psychological disorders such as schizophrenia, epilepsy, and dementia with relation to a normal brain. The key source of inspiration is derived from scientific brain scans of people suffering from the listed disorders juxtaposed with artworks by Susan Aldworth, that have interpreted these disorders from an artistic prospective.

RIVER ISLAND PROJECT ( YEAR 2 ) The 2nd year Industry collaboration project was with River Island. Two iconic figures of Andy Warhol’s ‘factory’ in the 1960’s; Nico and Edie Sedgwick have inspired this mini collection. The silhouette of the ready to wear collection was inspired by the juxtaposition of there opposite yet distinct styles. The print inspiration has been derived by the artworks of Alan Aldridge.

LDNY PROJECT ( YEAR 2 )
As a part of my second year industry project, I did a project for the LDNY Foundation. The collection is an amalgamation of the structured and fluid silhouettes with a focus on intricate traditional Indian embroidery and beadwork techniques, brought together to create a modern and unique style. I was the overall womenswear winner of the completion form London College of Fashion. The collection was showcased in a fashion show at the United Nations in New York and in London. The collection is due to be retailed at Liberty in July 2015.
DESIGN INSPIRATION The collection has been inspired by the vibrant cities of New York and London in the 1920’s. The focus being the flamboyant New York flapper lifestyle depicted by Fitzgerald in his book ‘The Great Gatsby’ juxtaposed with the tailored London look of the Famous 20’s character ‘Sherlock Homes’. The layered fringe like dresses and the geometric embellishments combined with structured silhouettes derived from the manufacturing patterns of a classic tailored suit from London’s Savile Row, served a key inspirations. The layered use of silk chiffon and embroidered structured fabrics together attempt to capture the two distinctive looks of the 1920’s.
