Join us in the pool to pick out the perfect pumpkin to decorate for fall! Once you have you have swum around and picked your pumpkin, supplies will be provided in one of our party rooms to decorate with. Children 7 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A COMMUNITY LUNCH AND LEARN SERIES

These “Bite-sized Learning” opportunities are provided free of charge to allow local businesses and organizations an opportunity to present educational, health-focused information for Das Rec members and guests. These take place on the third Friday of each month. See our Facebook Page for complete schedule. Please feel free to bring your lunch!

DROP N’ SHOP

Need time to shop? Drop your child off for a fun-filled time at Das Rec. Your child will enjoy a variety of activities including crafts, games, sports and more while you tackle your shopping list! Please bring a snack, water bottle, and wear appropriate gym clothes.

Parents/Caregivers who arrive late after 1pm for pick up will be charged a fee of $1.00 per minute they are late. Fees are due at the time of pick up. Notices of being late are appreciated, but fees still apply. If parent or emergency contacts cannot be contacted for 30 minutes, PD may be called.

BABYSITTING CERTIFICATION CLASS

Start your own babysitting service the right way with a certification from our trained American Red Cross Instructor. This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely give care for children and infants. Participants will develop leadership skills, and learn basic child care, first aid, and CPR. Please bring a sack lunch. Ages 11-15 | November 22 | December 28 | 9am-3pm | $100 Das Rec Party Room Bring your favorite Nerf gun, and we will supply elite-style ammo for this great competition. MOTHER/SON PAR-TEE

Mothers and sons enjoy an evening of mini-golf on the greens at our annual mother and son event! Take on the course with a goofy twist at each hole or play it your way. Please dress appropriately for this outdoor event. Pizza and refreshments will be served! Each participant must be registered; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

FAMILY FUN CAMPOUT

Pack your tents and light your lanterns for our annual Family Fun Campout! Activities will include a tent decorating contest, hayride, hot dog & s’more cookout, and family activities. Tent setup beings at 3pm. *Rain-Out date is October 22nd.

LANDA PARK TOUR & HIKE

Join Spass Walking Tours of New Braunfels to explore the history and beauty of Landa Park and experience a two mile walk during this interpretative tour. Discover man-made and natural treasures and hear stories about the people that made Landa Park a significant part of our community. This tour meets in the parking lot of the Rec Center at 164 Landa Park Drive. Most of the tour will be on the sidewalk and is stroller friendly.

HISTORIC CEMETERY TOUR

Join Spass Walking Tours for a guided, interactive walking tour through two historic New Braunfels’ cemeteries that includes an exercise in using and dowsing rods to find unmarked graves from 1846! Hear the stories of our founders along with their struggles and triumphs in building a new life for themselves and their descendants. This tour meets at Comal Cemetery on Peace Avenue and then moves to New Braunfels Cemetery. Call 830-221-4370 to register.

Bloodwood Bloodwoodmasquerade murder

AN INTERACTIVE MURDER MYSTERY

Bloodworth falls is an isolated town plagued with scandals. The townsfolk bicker in the streets, and many believe the local government is corrupt. Nevertheless, the mayor is hosting a masquerade ball in the old Bloodwood Castle. The tickets to the event have sold out in record time. The townspeople are curious to find out why the mayor would put in effort into doing something positive in this gloom. Anticipation for the event hangs thickly in the air, and many are already hunting for the perfect mask. You are worried what will happen on this night when toxic people come together. You are alarmed, as you didn’t purchase your ticket - it was placed in your mailbox in an unmarked envelope. Somebody wants you there, but you don’t know why. This is where your story begins.

Established in 1868, the Comal Cemetery is the burial ground for some of New Braunfels’ founders and notable citizens. Hear the stories of these illustrious souls told by actors as living history portrayals.
