It all began when I found an old key at the back of the kitchen cupboard. It is an old piece of furniture that I brought to my flat when my auntie Rita persuaded my parents to sell our grandmother’s semi-detached house few years ago. Before she did this she had called up each member of the family to go there and choose something to keep in granny’s memory.

Last week I needed to move it in order to check an electricity socket and the key fell down near my foot, I pick it up but I’d never seen it before. Later I was searching on an image site when I found out that key was from an iron safe and some memories about one at the house came to my mind.

So I checked the house address on a map site. It had become a dentist’s office. So I pretended to be a patient, made an appointment and went there to explain the real situation and she showed me the safe near the reception. I opened it and there inside was the stolen Jules Rimet trophy.
