Water Street Studios offers special art camp
Children have a fantastic opportunity with the Spring Break Art Camp March 30–April 2, 9am–12pm each day at Water Street Studios. This four-day camp gives kids the opportunity to create 2D and 3D art, using their favorite themes/characters from pop culture and famous historical art styles. This is a program for

Rover Rescue dog show helps animals find loving homes
Be a part of a wonderful opportunity to help homeless loving animals find a family with The Rover Rescue Pet Dog Show at Aurora Turners Club on April 25 from 10am–2pm. This show includes not only adoptable dogs looking for forever homes, but also a judging competition with over 20 fun categories, including fastest eater, most kisses in 15 seconds, and best mixed breed. All entries must be pre-registered by April 23. Entry fee is $10 per dog, which includes four categories. For each additional category, entries are $1 before April 23, and $3 after. A delicious tasting and night out with The Batavia United Way
Come out for deliciousness with the Batavia United Way 4th Annual Soup Tasting Open House on March 12 at Bar Evolution and The Tea Tree in Batavia
from 6–9pm. Guests receive a 3 oz. sample of each of the 10 soups that are being presented from various presenting restaurants. Along with sides of bread and crackers to go with the tasting will be varying beverages available at an additional charge. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going back to the Batavia community. Have an exciting chance to see live bald eagles up close at the Majestic Eagles event presented by Peck Farm Park and the Northern Raptor Rehab and Education Center on March 21 from 11am–12pm at Sunset Community Center in Geneva. Creek Bend Nature Center has a story time for children and families
For a fun family morning out, bring the kids to Creek Bend Nature Center’s Story Time on March 18 from 10:30–11am. This is a fun time for children and their parents to enjoy stories, finger plays, songs and more. St. Charles Public Library staff read books at this program series for children up to age five. Enjoy the interactive exhibits inside the nature center and stroll the grounds at LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve. The Story Time series happens each month. Registration is not required. Gain new insight from a special showing of No Small Matter, a documentary film, at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre on March 4 at 6pm. The film offers a look into how children are being raised, how young children learn, and the need for high-quality, play based preschool programs and more. Discover the sweet secret of how to turn tree sap into syrup while also enjoying samples in the Maple Café. Learn how to tap a maple tree, as well as drilling to set a tap. Included in this event will be a hike to learn how to distinguish maples from other species of hardwood trees. Wear green for Mental Health Awareness
Come out and support at NAMI KDK’s “Wearing of the Green for Health Awareness” dinner on March 12 at Riverside Receptions and Conference Center at 5:30pm. The evening features a delicious dinner, silent auction, cash bar along with an award presentation and live
auction. Attendees can show their support for mental health awareness by wearing green. Experience weird science at Fermilab
Have a wild experience in the lab with Fermilab’s Wonders of Science program on April 19 at 1pm in the Ramsey Auditorium. This event features a fast-paced series of demonstrations of chemical and physical phenomenon. This fun and interactive program is recommended to families with children ages 7–12. Spend this winter planning for spring with the Kane County Master Gardeners’ “Think Spring” class at the University of Illinois Extension office in St. Charles on March 19.
