Rogers Jewelry Co was founded in 1937 by Harry Marks and Dr. Robert Moon. Since then, our family has grown to its 4th generation with six family members working in the stores.
Our seven superstores have four times the square footage of a typical mall store, which allows them to carry a much larger selection of jewelry, as well as Custom Design Centers, Private Viewing Rooms, and local jewelers to make repairs on-site.

Tells a Story AND THE 4 CS ARE ONLY PART OF THAT STORY
The 4Cs (Carat, Color, Clarity, Cut) are the four traits that are used when determining a diamond’s rarity.
CARAT WEIGHT
CLARITY
Carat weight tells you what a diamond weighs when put on a scale. It says nothing about the size of a diamond or any other factors that can lead to beauty.
Clarity describes whether a diamond has a portion that is not fully crystalized (inclusion) and under what power magnification that portion is noticeable. This ranges from immediately noticeable (I3) to unable to be seen under 10x power magnification (Flawless).
COLOR
CUT
Color refers to how many shades away from perfectly white a diamond is. It doesn’t tell you which color this is (unless it is in the fancy range) and is usually based on yellow, brown or grey. Some colors, such as red or blue, can add to the rarity of the diamond. Colors range alphabetically from D to Z, then progress to higher end colors.
Cut refers to two parts of the diamond. The first is the shape (round, princess, pear, oval, marquise, cushion, asscher, etc). The second is how well the diamond is cut, which includes how symmetrical the diamond is and how well it is polished.
While all of these qualities describe a diamond in terms of rarity, they do not tell the whole story. For that, you have to see a diamond for yourself. A diamond, just like a snowflake, is truly unique and when you find the one that catches your eye, you’ll know it. Because the most valuable diamond… is the one you are in love with.

Did you know that 14 karat white gold and 14 karat yellow gold have the same amount of gold? 14 karat means that 14 parts out of 24 parts are gold. This also means that 24 karat gold is pure gold. Why make gold with only 10, 14, or 18 parts gold (10kt, 14kt or 18kt)? There are two reasons: The first is that gold itself is a very soft metal and needs to be alloyed (mixed)

with other metals to make it stronger and harder. The second is that gold is expensive and we want everyone to have a little gold in their life, so we dilute it down to allow people to afford this precious, elegant metal.

Are all 14 karats the same? No, 14kt means that 14 out of 24 parts are gold but what about the other 10 parts? Does it matter? Yes. If you are allergic to nickel and they put nickel in your ring to strengthen it, it can cause a rash. If they mix it with other materials like platinum or palladium, which are also rare metals, not only will the price go up, but the durability will as well, causing the piece of jewelry to be hypoallergenic and last a lot longer. OUR PROCESS STEP 1: SKETCH • Our designer will help you create a completely unique piece of jewelry, or even help you fine tune a design that’s not quite what you want • After we have the idea for your custom piece, the first step is to sketch it out on paper so you can see what your piece of jewelry will look like • When designing your piece, we will always help you stay within your budget
STEP 2: COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN (CAD) • We have our own CAD designer who travels to all of our stores; they will make a CAD of your piece right in front of you that allows you to see your creation from every angle to make sure that it’s perfect • We also have our own wax mills, 3D printers and wax carvers so you can try on the jewelry and make sure you’re happy with the size and fit
STEP 3: CREATE YOUR UNIQUE MASTERPIECE • Our designers take the CAD and turn your dream into reality • Once the design is finished, our jewelers cast the precious metal and hand-set all of the stones into your unique design, and your finished piece is ready for pick-up

SOFTER GEMSTONES
It may be hard to keep track of but, just like everything you use everyday, your jewelry needs freshening up. Just remember that when you get your oil changed you need to stop by the jewelry store and get your jewelry cleaned and checked. We recommend getting your jewelry cleaned and checked at least every 6 months. We always offer this service for free!
For the softer gemstones like Pearls and opals, remember the rule “Last on, First off,” meaning if you’re going to an event, put them on last, after your makeup and hairspray (these can cause discoloration or damage to these gemstones). And take them first when you get home.
INSURANCE
Be sure to have your jewelry insured through a homeowners policy or renters insurance. There is nothing worse than damaging or losing a beautiful piece of jewelry and not being able to replace it.
CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY AT HOME
When cleaning your jewelry at home, stick to lukewarm water, mild dish soap, and an extremely soft brush to brush away dirt and grime. (As a reminder for the softer stones like pearls, emeralds, and opals, use a soft cloth with no treatments as they can discolor or otherwise harm the stone).
WHEN TRAVELING Avoid chlorine or salt-water damage by removing all jewelry before going in a hot tub, swimming pool, or ocean. Remove all jewelry before applying sunscreen and tanning oil, which can get caught in crevices and coat your jewelry, dulling the look of your gemstones or diamonds.

Store all jewelry in a clean, dry place. If you’re staying in a hotel, make sure to keep your jewelry in a safe when you’re not wearing it. Keep your jewelry in a fabric-lined jewelry case with compartments to prevent pieces from getting scratched or tangled. If you’re traveling with an engagement ring, a pricey watch or another priceless piece of jewelry, make sure to insure it in case it gets lost, stolen or damaged.

HOW SHOULD A RING
Fit?
Rings should fit snugly on your ring finger but should not be uncomfortably tight. You want to have to pull a bit to get a ring off, but you don’t want it to be so tight that it’s irritating or painful to wear. Note that you definitely don’t want your ring to be loose enough that it can come off on its own, or when your hands shrink when putting them into cold water such as washing them or going swimming in a pool or the ocean. That’s a sign that your ring size is too large.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RESIZE A RING?
Typically, it takes one to two weeks to have a ring resized, but the exact timeframe will depend on your jeweler’s schedule and how simple or complex your resize will be.
HOW MUCH DOES RING RESIZING COST? There’s no set cost for getting an engagement ring or wedding band resized, since the price of a resize usually depends on how complex the work is. If a ring has a simple design and only needs a minor adjustment, resizing it may cost less than $50. In more complicated cases, resizing a ring could cost several hundred dollars.
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO MEASURE RING SIZE?
The best way to figure out your ring size is to have a professional jeweler take your size using a metal ring sizer. This will provide the most accurate results. While many websites suggest finding your ring size by measuring your finger size with string or a paper print out, we would advise against these methods. String can stretch when pulled taut and paper ring sizers can be printed at the wrong scale. While these ring sizing methods can give you an idea of your approximate ring size, they leave a lot of room for user error, so we generally advise against them when ordering a nonsizeable ring.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY RING CAN’T BE RESIZED?
If your engagement ring cannot be resized, you have a couple of options. If your ring is too loose, you could wear a tighter ring on the outside of your engagement ring to help it stay in place. If your ring is too tight or it’s too loose but you don’t want to wear a second ring to keep it in place, you may need to talk to a jeweler about having the ring remade (we can do that).
HOW DOES RING RESIZING WORK?
To make a ring smaller, a jeweler will cut out a small piece of the ring’s band, then solder the ring back together seamlessly. To make a ring larger, a jeweler will typically make a cut at the bottom of the ring’s band, then add a small, precisely sized piece of metal.
