EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Strategy

Our goal is to actively involve employees in internal communication content, internal media, corporate culture and the activities inside ŠKODA AUTO.

Your voice matters!

During the year, we publish surveys and challenges and create events for employees, including roadshows, a music festival and conferences, among others. We use the output to create articles in our internal media or special supplements of the internal newspaper.

ŠKODA CARS SCORED IN THE ECONOMY RUN CONTEST

PETR HRDLIČKA, CSC., CHIEF DESIGNER OF ŠKODA FAVORIT, WON AN AWARD CHAIRMAN OF THE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC PRESENTED THE CHIEF DESIGNER OF THE FAVORIT, ING. PETR HRDLIČKA, CSC. THE MERIT AWARD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FAVORIT. The ceremony took place at the Aviation Museum of Metoděj Vlach in Mladá Boleslav in the presence of the representatives of ŠKODA AUTO and KOVO MB Trade Unions, the delegation of the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the representatives of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the municipality of Mladá Boleslav.

PREDECESSOR OF THE FELICIA CONVERTIBLE CELEBRATES ITS 60TH BIRTHDAY EXACTLY 60 YEARS AGO, IN SEPTEMBER 1957, THE ŠKODA 450 MADE ITS FIRST APPEARANCE AT THE INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING FAIR (MSV) IN BRNO.

At the ECONOMY RUN – a traditional contest for the lowest fuel consumption – which we have been supporting as the partner for many years, the winning crew in the CITIGO 1.0 MPI achieved the average fuel consumption of just 3.2 l/100 km. The winning crew in the Diesel category completed the track in the OCTAVIA III 1.6 TDI with the average fuel consumption of 3.1 l/100 km. The category in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) was won by the CITIGO 1.0 MPI CNG CNG with the average fuel consumption of 2.2 kg/100 km.

DO YOU KNOW THAT... THE NUMBER OF SUBMITTED PROPOSALS IN KVASINY INCREASED BY 46 PERCENT, THAT IS 1500 IN TOTAL OVER 2016?

The elegant roadster had a retractable roof and was distinguished by its attractive, sporty design. The model was leaving the production line in Kvasiny and was meant especially for the demanding world markets like Germany, Great Britain and the USA. In 1959, the Czech car manufacturer brought out an exceptionally thriving successor – ŠKODA FELICIA convertible.

Thanks to the ‚Improving Kvasiny‘ campaign, we are expecting a further increase of the number of proposals also in the last quarter of 2017. One of the main prizes of the motivation campaign is a KODIAQ. The campaign will include the proposals with quantifiable contributions as well as the proposals with unquantifiable contributions, which are rewarded with a minimum of 100 points per proposal.

On 25 September 2017, Andrej Danko, Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, together with Jan Hamáček, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, visited the ŠKODA Museum.

We challenged our employees to send us their children’s creations on the topic “What does ŠKODA AUTO mean to you?” The 30 best entries were given the opportunity to participate in a children’s day at ŠKODA. EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Roadshows Internal communication event for all employees. We organise roadshows around the same time as a new car’s world premiere so that our employees can get to know it immediately

Our 1st SUV model is called KODIAQ, so we created a kodiak bear mascot to promote it

Igloo tents fit our aims and support the visibility of the roadshow in our plants

Contest quiz on tablets

For 5 days at 6 locations, all our employees get the chance to discover the beauty of our latest models

The bear mascot was incredibly popular among our employees. They love him! For this reason, he also made (and will make) an appearance at other events: among others, MMK Management Conference Party, Azubi Student Car event, Recruitment at Universities and the Christmas Party.


EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Roadshows II

During roadshows, we use elements that activate our employees (polls, competitions, quizzes). Photo walls and “Printka” are especially popular. Employees take pictures and use a special #hashtag to print their photos or share them on social networks and through the internal communication channels.

This video series, prepared by the Internal Communications team, features innovative news and exciting machines or devices involved in car production. The emphasis is on employees working in production – the machines are introduced by individuals who actually work with them. Presentation of the series through internal media and on social networks: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram.

We conduct a new survey on current topics every week on the Employee Portal; we also include light topics focused on the habits of our employees over the holidays. SURVEYS ARE VERY POPULAR, AS EVIDENCED BY THE LARGE NUMBER OF VOTERS IN EACH POLL – THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF VOTERS IN THE YEAR 2017 WAS

3,560 PER POLL. We continue to work with the results of these surveys. Employees can rate the articles on the Employee Portal – we gain their immediate feedback.
