The only management conference attended by our managers from around the world. The strategy for the upcoming year and other important topics are presented, especially through active networking.
CLEVER TOGETHER THE SLOGAN IS A COMBINATION OF THE VW GROUP’S TOGETHER STRATEGY AND ŠKODA’S “SIMPLY CLEVER“ BRAND CLAIM.

The ŠKODA TALK App was the main guide for the MMK conference. Paper notes and printed agendas have become a thing of the past.
The participants were able to publish their photos and also comment and like other posts. As a result, we received instant feedback about their interests.
WE SHOT A TUTORIAL VIDEO TO MAKE THE APP USER-FRIENDLY FOR THE PARTICIPANTS.
The agenda was updated according to the pre-selected programme by the participants. Presentations were uploaded immediately after the speakers had finished their speech.
An interactive map guided the participants to the exact spot where they needed to be according to a pre-selected programme. Our participants enjoyed the MMK Game, and they gained points for using the app. The top 3 point scorers were awarded on stage.
We used an online satisfaction survey for the first time via the ŠKODA TALK app. WE USED THE MAIN CLAIM OF THE CONFERENCE, “CLEVER TOGETHER”, WHEREVER WE COULD. THE SLOGAN WAS THE KEY FOR THE SKODA TALK APP AND EVEN FOR THE WI-FI PASSWORD.

3 exciting workshops on future topics concerning mobility, which participants could choose themselves in advance

Results – 45 ideas, of which nine selected presentations found their way to the main min stage and had to be introduced in a 2-minute “slam presentation”
The Board was really enthusiastic about all the teams’ creativity and commitment
15 groups were formed to work on
Challenge – each draft had to fit onto a standard flip chart
After the slam presentation, the five best ideas were awarded; each team received €25,000 to make its startup come to fruition

17 stands offered the opportunity to learn more about the previous day’s workshop topics Futuristic market-like space for innovation, ideas and future projects offered, e.g.: Virtual reality, electric vehicles test rides, ŠKODA Digital Ecosystem, Microsoft Hololens and much more Gamification: Participants collected stickers by visiting the Marketplace stalls and received small awards if they collected eight stickers

ŠKODA IN THE GROUP: FINDING ANSWERS TOGETHER Frank Witter FRANK WITTER, CHAIRMAN OF THE ŠKODA AUTO SUPERVISORY BOARD, HAD REASON TO BE HAPPY: “THERE ARE MUCH MORE DIFFICULT ROLES THAN BEING CHAIRMAN OF THE SUPERVISORY BOARD OF THIS FANTASTIC BRAND AND TEAM.“
He went on to acknowledge that everyone has done “an extraordinary job over the past year”. However, Witter also made it quite clear that major efforts are still needed to overcome the challenges ahead. These include efficiently managing research spending, meeting the tightened CO2 regulations, developing new mobility business models and working on the profitability of electric vehicles. “This dramatically increases the pressure on cost and earnings for each brand in the Group – ŠKODA included”, Witter said. For him, however, this is no reason to “bury our heads in the sand” because, he adds, “we have possibilities, and we will use them”. If the topics mentioned above are addressed proactively, and volumes are bundled intelligently, especially regarding the transition phase from the combustion engine to electromobility, “we will continue to be on the winning side”. Witter also addressed the brand’s role in the Group: “We need a strong contribution from the ŠKODA team” in response to competition from France and the Far East, as well as in its future role as lead holder of the A0 platform. He noted that Strategy 2025 is an excellent foundation for this. “I believe the brand has all the
prerequisites to be successful in the future, and it is not a bad thing not to have all the answers yet. It would only be bad if we didn’t fight for them.”
KOVO MB Trade Union
A QUESTION OF BALANCE Miloš Kovář It is a good tradition at the MMK for a union representative to take the stage. This year, Miloš Kovář took on this role and reports: “The cooperation between ŠKODA and the KOVO Trade Union is working.” The foundation for this success is having dialogues on an equal footing because “without the possibility to represent one’s opinion, the right decisions cannot be made”. In this regard, he refers to the situation in production: The trade union understands that ways have to be found to meet increased demand. However, employees’ needs should be taken into account. “We have to create conditions under which the employees are not overloaded”, Kovář emphasises. Improved ergonomics, for example, is a step in the right direction. However, further measures need to be taken, such as introducing new flexible forms of working. After all, only healthy and motivated employees can secure ŠKODA’s future. To summarise, Kovář adds this year’s motto:

Newspapers specifically created for this event, issued on the second day of the conference. It contained a summary of what had happened the previous day and informed the participants about the upcoming programme. The name MMK Mobil came up in connection with ŠKODA Mobil – the monthly internal newspaper for all ŠKODA employees. The MMK Mobil already made use of the new design language of the internal newspaper, which would only be fully introduced in ŠKODA Mobil in September 2017.
