Your Interview
A Guide for Applicants 2022/ 23 The college of choice
www.nescot.ac.uk
Hello, Welcome to Admissions at Nescot
As you know, we’ve arranged a group information session for you. The purpose of this is to help you get all the information you need about the course, to meet the people who will be teaching you and studying with you, and to find out more about studying at Nescot. We want to make sure that you’re applying to study a course that fits your interests and talents, and will help prepare you for the career you want to do.
Can you attend the interview?
We’ve offered you a group session on a specific time and date. If you can’t come on that date you can usually choose another that suits you better. Please log in to the application portal to let us know whether you can attend your session. If you have any questions, just give us a call on 020 8394 3038.
What will happen at the interview?
On the day, you’ll need to come to reception and check in. You’ll then be taken to your subject area where you’ll meet the staff. This is your opportunity to get more information about the course and life at Nescot. We’ll be expecting you to ask questions, so take some time to think about what you’d like to know. For example: • How is studying at Nescot different to being at school? • What’s the balance of practical and classroom-based work? • How much homework will I get? • What can I do after the course?
The tutors will want to know more about you, and why you’re applying to the course. This will help them decide which course and which level would suit you best. You might like to think about: • Your career plans, and how this course will help you reach your goals; • Why you want to study this course; and • How you like to learn – for example, whether you learn better by doing something yourself. If you wish to take up your place, please accept it within 3 weeks of your offer.
Things to bring
