Every year the Rio Grande Valley Builders Association (RGVBA) gives away a free entry into the Parade to one lucky builder who enters the Parade during the Parade Kick-Off Meeting. The winner of the free entry was Classic Homes (Frank & Joaquin Gonzalez). Additional prizes included a second prize of a 25% discount on the entry fee that was won by Villa Homes (David Villanueva, Emigdio Villanueva Jr. & Emigdio Villanueva III). A third prize of a dinner and a movie, donated by Sierra Title Company, was won by Divine Custom Homes (Olga Trevino). RGVBA LESTER MILES – ASSOCIATE OF THE YEAR AWARD The Lester Miles Associate of the Year Award is presented to an Associate member, individual, or business that has been a major supporter of the RGVBA and the industry throughout the year. The Associate of the Year Award was renamed The Lester Miles Associate of the Year Award in 1997 as a tribute to Lester Miles after his death in 1996. Lester Miles was a respected Associate member who embodied all the attributes of a loyal, dedicated individual who generously and unselfishly gave of his time and his talents to those that needed his help.
