Prayer bid for UK launched
A sIngER who was confined to a wheelchair walked for the first time in 22 years at a Christian healing meeting last month.

Delia Knox, a popular gospel singer, had been paralysed since a car accident on Christmas Day 1987. But a YouTube video filmed during a church service at Mobile Convention Centre in Alabama shows British preacher Nathan Morris praying for Delia before helping her out of her wheelchair. More than 10,000 youngsters in Britain pledged to read through the whole Bible over the next year at a Christian event. The young people kicked off the marathon in September after signing up to the challenge at the Soul Survivor youth conference over the summer. The launch coincided with the start of the new academic year when many young people returned to school or university. Christian youth worker Jon Jolly said: “While there are many other Bible reading plans and various notes available, it’s great that such a large youth organisation are encouraging young people to read the Bible together.” Some 30,000 young people went to Soul Surv ivor’s four sum mer events, mak ing it a record h igh turnout. event founder Mike Pilavach i shared his excitement at what God was doing through the movement. “We have heard some amazing stories of what God has been doing. “I met an re teacher who brought 80 pupils from her school for an re field trip to see what Christians believe. Now many of those teenagers are Christians themselves! “We are thankful to God for all he had done; this has been another year of his grace.”

Celebration for the Nations coordinator Gail Dixon said the team behind the non-stop prayer campaign were excited.
