André Rieu, the ‘Waltz King of Europe’ will again perform an indoor “Christmas in my Hometown” Concert at the Maastricht Exhibition and Conference Centre (MECC) in his hometown of Maastricht in the Netherlands, this December. Join us for a memorable 4-day break that in addition to the unforgettable night with André includes a visit to the Maastricht Christmas Market on the famous Vrijhof Square with it’s ice rink, ferris wheel and many beautiful stalls providing festive cheer, a warm welcome and wintry fun. In addition on Day Three, we have included a visit to the world famous Aachen Christmas Market which is set around its cathedral and town hall. During the indoor “Christmas in my Hometown” concert at the MECC, which will be transformed into a magnificent ‘Winter Palace’ with chandeliers, Christmas trees, ice skaters, brass band and a Christmas market, you will hear music from across André’s repertoire, including delightful melodies from opera, musicals, film and the world of classical music, plus a few catchy waltzes and lots of Christmas carols! Maastricht at Christmastime The centre of Maastricht is compact and therefore easy to explore on foot. Large areas are pedestrianised and most places to visit are within walking distance. The St Servaas Bridge links the old centre, including the Vrijthof Square, with the trendy Wyck district. You can cross back over the river via the modern suspension bridge, the ‘Hoeg Brogk’. With an amazing variety of sights, sounds and flavours spread along a compact network of attractive streets on both sides of the river, you’ll never feel lost.

The historic city centre is a fantastic place for endless shopping. Travel Insurance Peace of Mind Travel insurance can play an essential part in ensuring you are able to enjoy every moment of your time on holiday, without worrying what might happen should bad luck befall you. Hence, we suggest that everyone travelling abroad with Newmarket has travel insurance. This must be either the Newmarket Travel Insurance policy underwritten by AWP P&C SA and administered in the UK by Allianz Global Assistance, or an alternative travel insurance policy. The Newmarket travel insurance policy is only available to UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man residents and English law will apply.
The Cover – Main Features; Limits/Excesses applicable The policy provides cover for: • Overseas Emergency Medical and Associated Expenses – up to £5 million (less £70 excess) where applicable • Personal Accident – up to £15,000 • Cancellation or Curtailment Charges – up to the cost of the holiday (less maximum excess of £70) • Abandonment of the holiday – up to the cost of the holiday (less £70 excess) • Personal Possessions – up to £1,000 in total (less £70 excess) including up to £500 for valuables • Delayed Personal Possessions – up to £75 • Personal Money – up to £250 (less £70 excess) • Loss of Passport – up to £250 • Missed Departure – up to £800 • Personal Liability – up to £1 million • Legal Expenses – up to £10,000

Flight timings At the time of printing, the exact outbound and inbound departure times have not been confirmed. Those shown are our best estimate based on current information. Final timings will be confirmed to you with your Final Travel Documents approximately ten days prior to departure and you may rest assured that every endeavour will be made to secure timings close to those indicated on pages 6 & 9. Occasionally the timings will differ from those indicated, although rarely will they do so dramatically. An Airport Development charge has been introduced at some UK Airports, including Durham Tees Valley and Norwich. You will be required to pay a charge per passenger over 16 years old prior to checking in for your flight. The amount varies from airport to airport, but is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Excess Waiver Insurance
Significant Health Exclusions; Health Declaration The policy does not cover any claim arising from a medical condition for which, at the time of taking out the policy, an insured person:
If an excess applies, you can avoid this being deducted from a successful claim by taking out optional Excess Waiver Insurance in addition to the policy.
• Is being prescribed regular medication; or • Has received treatment for or had a consultation with a doctor or hospital specialist in the past 12 months; or • Is being referred to, treated by or under the care of a doctor or a hospital specialist; or • Is awaiting treatment or the results of any tests or investigations; or • Has been diagnosed with or treated for cancer in the last 5 years unless the condition(s) has (have) been declared, and accepted in writing. Please call the confidential medical line on 0330 123 3702 if you need to declare a medical condition, if you develop a medical condition after the policy was issued, if your existing medical condition changes after the policy was issued or if you are unsure whether a medical condition needs to be declared or not. This helpline will be able to tell you whether or not cover can be provided for your medical condition(s). You do not have to declare minor ailments e.g. hay fever, colds/flu, ear infections, dental treatment if you have had no further problems since or if you have been advised by your doctor that it is safe to travel.
The cost of the policy is £19 (2-4 days) for EUROPEAN BREAKS. The cost of Excess Waiver Insurance is £10.00 for each person aged 2 or over at the date of travel. All premiums are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax at the current rate. You must pay all applicable premiums at the time of booking and cover starts from the moment we receive these monies.

The Premium
The cost of our travel insurance policy is slightly higher for customers aged 70-79, and for those over 80. Please see online or call us for exact prices.
Cancellation Rights If your cover does not meet your requirements, please return the documentation within 14 days of receipt and your premium will be refunded in full unless you have travelled made a claim or intend to make a claim.
Making a complaint The policy contains a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Government advice is to be adequately covered According to a poll gathered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office 24% of travellers are still going abroad without suitable travel insurance, risking thousands of pounds of expenses, 48% of people don’t realise that without travel insurance they’d be liable to pay for their own medical bills abroad.
