Finding purpose through work is difficult to do, but over the years, I have gained experience and understanding of what skills are necessary to lead a purposeful life. Leading a purposeful life begins with kindness. Kindness to others is a gateway to empathy because when one treats others with kindness, one can begin to understand that everyone leads life with different perspectives. With this understanding, someone, like myself, can not only bring directness in conversation through knowledge, but also open-minded ideas about different kinds of people to design work. Empathetic knowledge can easily guide the way to obsessive work. When one truly understand what the purpose is behind a project, one can spend more time making little, but important decisions. Having respect towards one’s own work is an important aspect of finding purpose to design. Respect comes from being confidence in decision making skills, therefore having a higher understanding of one’s own work.
