02 | LETTER FROM THE LTG

WHAT’S WADDLING DIVISION 19 NORTH!

First and foremost, thank you to every one of you for making my very last Fall Rally South unbelievable. I loved every single moment that I got to share with all of you. Being on stage with the other Lieutenant Governors hearing our cheers was literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I was nearly brought to tears by everyone’s enthusiasm for Division 19 North, so thank you Pirate Penguins for that. Congratulations to Division 13 South Ninjas for their continued success, but I am absolutely positive that 19 North will come back even stronger next term! Additionally, all of you should be proud of what you were able to accomplish this term, and at Fall Rally South. Region 8 made history by being the only divisions to move on to the next round for our session, all thanks to you. I would now like to thank the individuals that attended our annual Region 3 x Region 8 Candidate Training Conference at the Anaheim Public Library! I am super excited to witness these attendees continue their Key Club journey and possibly see them on-stage at our Region 8 Conclave in December! Pursuing a demanding role like Lieutenant Governor takes confidence, courage, and determination, so thank you to all of you for demonstrating that to me. The R3 and R8 Lieutenant Governors loved everyone’s desire to learn about the role of LTG, and we all look forward to seeing you guys continue your pursuit for more leadership! And to conclude, here are our new updates to our term-wide goals! As per the Division Monthly Report Form submitted on November 10th, 2019, Division 19 North has earned 3,987 service hours and raised more than $1,380, not including the funds raised from spirit gear yet either! This is all thanks to Division 19 North’s continued dedication to serving your homes, schools, and communities! Thank you to those that also attended our Division Fundraiser at 7Leaves after our Spirit Sessions at La Carretera Park! For now, that’s everything! I hope to see all of you again at our Region 8 November Thanksgiving Division Council Meeting/Social!

WADDLING FOR SERVICE,

ANDREW YANG

As a club overall, we are beyond proud of our accomplishments throughout the month of September. On Saturday, September 7th three members from our club joined our Kiwanis in putting up posters throughout the city for their annual fair, which is ultimately one of their biggest fundraisers for their club. We got to talk with them about our plans for the school year and receive feedback, ultimately bettering the relationship we have. Our annual club rush was on Friday, September 13th, and within the span of three hours we got 180 students interested in Key Club! Additionally, three members from our club were able to attend the September Division Council Meeting that Sunday, September 15th where we got to pie our DLT in support of the Pediatric Trauma Program. Our first meeting of the school year was the next day on Monday, September 16th during lunch where we had an astounding 150 students in attendance! We held a thorough Key Club 101 session and talked about our Key Club moments with the new members, and this has gotten students even more interested as we have had a retention rate of about 90 students for the rest of our weekly meetings in September. That Saturday September 21st two officers from our club along with the rest of Division 19 North volunteered at our Kiwanis’ annual Fair on Richmond Street in El Segundo, we primarily aided vendors setting up, cleaning the area, directing participants, and taking down the event. Finally on Saturday, September 27th five members attended the Los Angeles Ukulele Festival along with the rest of the division, they brought back positive experiences that have brought excitement for future events amongst our members. We are beyond proud of our accomplishments throughout the month, and look forward to an amazing school year!

Greetings! For the month of October, HMSA Key Club had a successful month. First, we have to mention AIDS Walk, which many of our members attended and walked throughout downtown LA. Secondly, we had the Kicken’™ Cancer event, which we had a few members attend. We had the Dana Soccer Event, where members hung out with kids with special needs and have fun with them. Next, we had the Hawthorne BBQ, where we helped serve food to many people from the city. Lastly, we had the Hawthorne Halloween carnival, where members helped to run booths and games for the children of Hawthorne. This was good in terms of events and with Fall Rally nearby, we also helped recap cheers for members attending it. We hope to have many more events for the month of November and to have fun doing so.

HAWTHORNE

President | Eduardo Barajas

For the month of October Hawthorne Did relatively well. We first attended Our own school’s campus beautification event the 9th where we would stay after school to pick up trash to help keep the school clean and tidy. On Saturday the 12th we helped out at a Subaru Loves Pets Dog and Cat adoption. We helped make name tags for peoples pest upon request, walk and play with the dogs and cats all in an effort to find them a forever home. Next we held an ice skating fundraiser at the Toyota Sports Center from 7:30pm -9:45 pm on the 12th. The event was a success and we sold tickets for 12$ presale and 15$ at the door and raised over 150$ to go towards Fall Rally South and more. Hawthorne attended the division’s monthly Division Council Meeting where our club was honored to receive an award for our advisor, Rick Carver who was named Advisor of the Month. Our club also received the 2nd place award in our divisions point system The Hawthorne Memorial Center is where our next event on the 17th was where the annual Hawthorne Community Barbecue was held. After School we helped pass out the plates of food and waste management. After helping with the waste we helped with the cleanup of the tables and called it a day. Nextup we assisted at the AYSO annual soccer festival on the 19th alongside other clubs in our division and even clubs like Knights and Diaconians. There we helped move goal posts, set up tents, pass out shirts, and more. There we also helped run some of the booths and make sure the members of the community could enjoy their time there then helped clean it all up once the event concluded. We then alongside our division attended the annual Aids Walk in Los Angeles on the 20th. We walked as a group in support of Aids patients and to raise awareness so that a cure may be found soon hopefully. Next we were in attendance at our school’s Fun Run and Health Fair on the 26th. There we helped with the setup of the booths and then helped with water distribution for the attendees. After the event was over we helped clean up and leave the place nice and tidy. We also attended a second Subaru loves Dogs Cat and Dog adoption on the 26th alongside other clubs in 19 North where we essentially did the same as what we assisted with on the 12th except this time we got two dogs successfully adopted and even were able to reunite a lost dog with their owner. The Final event we helped at in the month of October was the Hawthorne Memorial Halloween Spooktacular on the 30th. There we helped run the booths for the little kids like ring toss and more while giving the kids candy after every visit. We then helped put away all the games and props to be used again next year. We also had many of our members who plan on attending Fall Rally South attend division spirit days to get the cheers for the sessions right. We attended the october 4th,11th, and 26th spirit day session so that we may reclaim the spirit stick alongside our penguin brothers and sisters.
