November was a month of craziness! Leading up to Fall Rally, CAMS Key Club spent countless hours preparing our spirit gear and cheers by attending our division’s Spirit Day and making our own decorations and outfits. Fall Rally South was an inspiring moment for all of us. We were able to see how united Key Clubbers are under one cause – serving the community and saving lives.
It also gave us the opportunity to scream and lose our voices while meeting people from all over the district. However, November was not just about Fall Rally. We volunteered at the Be the Match Run/Walk where we passed out water and snacks. Over Thanksgiving Break, we were able to travel to Irvine and volunteer at Operation Christmas Child where we prepared gifts and presents for children in third world countries. The following day, we served food to the homeless at The Beacon House in San Pedro. The Trick or Treat for UNICEF boxes from October also proved to be a success. After counting the donations, we were able to raise over $1,000.00 for Project EliMiNaTe. November was a great month for CAMS Key Club, and we are excited to see how we progress in the last month of 2015!

The month of November was a month full of spirit, passion, and enthusiasm! At the beginning of the month, members volunteered at the Heroes of Hope Race in Dockweiler Beach alongside El Segundo’s Key Club. Members were in charge of a water station and passed out water to those who ran and walked. Early on in the month, members also attended the Division Spirit Day, where Pirate Penguins gathered to By Christian Cisneros practice the beautiful cheers of Division 19 North for Fall Rally South while learning about why Fall Rally South is held in the first place. Da Vinci also had one of its members volunteer for clean-up at the Los Angeles Brain Tumor Walk. After our final meeting before Fall Rally South, members stayed behind to practice cheers, create signs, and build up the passion, spirit, and excitement for Saturday’s event! A total of 30 Da Vinci Key Club members made it to Fall Rally South, which is an increase of over double compared to last year’s attendance. Members had an amazing and memorable time participating in spirit battles, cheering at the top if their lungs, meeting new people, and getting on rides. At our Key Club meeting, we had members who went talk about their overall experience. Members who didn’t think they were going to have a fun time ended up having fun, which really warmed our hearts. Overall, November was a great month, and we are very excited for the month of December! DIVISION 19N NEWSLETTER | JANUARY 2016 | PAGE 13

November was a month full of fun and special activities that El Segundo Key Club was happy to be a part of.
By Hannah C. Levy
To begin the month, our high school drama class held their fall production and gave us the opportunity to run the concessions stand as a fundraiser for Project Eliminate and PTP, and we raised $100 from 3 intermissions.
Then, in preparation for Fall Rally South, our attendees attend the Spirit Prep Day, ensured the learned the cheers and how to cheer them with passion, and helped the division reach the second round of the spirit session at Fall Rally. After the Spirit Prep Day, some of our members volunteered at the Heroes of Hope Race distributing t-shirts, bibs and medals.

“How do you feel?” The month of November awakened our spirit penguins inside of us.. We had our annual Fall Rally Session; celebrating all the funds we raised, as high school students, for the Pediatric Trauma Program.

Gardena Key Club brought twenty four of our members to Six Flags Magic Mountain, and needless to say, it was a wonderful and fun experience (a ride of our lives, literally). Although during this busy time, we had volunteer events at the Nakaoka Center.
During the Veterans’ Day event, we assisted with decorations all colors of blue, red, and white. It was fun setting up flag decorations, bows, ribbons, and various garlands. Circle K was also there and we helped prepared the chairs for the guests. This beautiful event was to thank the veterans for all of their hard work and services. Another event was called the Tree Lighting Ceremony collaborated with CAMS Key Club. It was really crowded with over one hundred attendees. This event certainly brought the holiday spirit to our community as the place was filled with snow, christmas decorations, arts and crafts, pictures with Santa Claus, and an ice skating rink. Our club mostly worked at the arts and crafts area where we helped supervised the children who colored their own christmas pictures, decorated their own christmas tree, and created their own friendly popsicle sticks with various designs including a snowflake, a snowman, and a christmas tree. For the month of December, finals is approaching, but we are expecting to volunteer and helping out as much as we can before winter break.

The first week of November was preparation for fall rally and pumping up the club for a day of spirit battles and eye opening to the vastness of key club. Come fall rally 29 members from Hawthorne arrived and I'm confident we left with cherished memories. Members who went to the November DCM came back delighted and excited to have received the district sweaters. By Nico Fernandez
The next week we had off with no event planned. This week returning from break we participated in a Historical Society Santa Toy and Book event.
In which we helped set up the stage where Santa posed for pictures and we decorated. We also aided in cleaning trash and setting up trash cans. Members also helped with setting up lights for the lighting ceremony. The tree lighting ceremony was beautiful and members had fun spending time with kids in front of the Hawthorne public library where the event was hosted. We also aided with distribution of small food items in the form of goody bags and small toys for the children of Hawthorne. Children had smiles on their faces and food to eat which made for an all around event. To make it even better it was our Kiwanis advisor Rick who dressed up as Santa Clause. We are currently in the process of setting up an ice skating fundraiser for December and hosting a small farewell party for the members before winter break. We are trying to get a popcorn machine my VP has and set up a couple winter goody bags for the members. Especially because it's the crucial time after fall rally when we usually lose members.

The month of November was a stirring month for the club. We concluded Trick-orTreat for UNICEF this month and it was very successful in raising money for Eliminate.
By Ricardo Almazan
Key Club Week gave us a good opportunity to hype members and nonmembers in our school. We pinned people, wrote thank you notes to teachers, and sold donuts to fund raise for PTP.
As the week progressed, the club held a canned food drive for our school. Our members needed to arrive to school earlier than usual to collect cans from students who were donating. It was really successful drive; the club was able to collect about 1000 cans of food. We are all really content with the turnout the event produced. As we approached Fall Rally South, the the club’s Fall Rally Committee worked as hard as ever to make posters and spirit gear (like capes) to help fund raise for the club. Fall Rally South altogether was an amazing experience; we hope to carry on the hype for the members of club. We have many things planned for the month of December and we hope the club is as excited as we are. DIVISION 19N NEWSLETTER | JANUARY 2016 | PAGE 21

November was a blast for our members! Our deadline for Trick or Treat for UNICEF ended during this month and we raised a collective total of $762.45, a record amount for Lawndale Key Club! By Vivian Nguyen
In addition to this, we volunteered at First LEGO League Robotics competition, where we queued middle school teams to their proper competitions slots. Our members were also hard at work practicing the cheers during the Fall Rally Spirit Prep Day and seventeen people enjoyed cheering and riding rollercoasters at Fall Rally South! For December and January, our board is focusing on more service projects and further membership retention! DIVISION 19N NEWSLETTER | JANUARY 2016 | PAGE 22

Ikena Maduno
CAMS Key Club is SUPER proud to say that Ikenna Maduno is Member of the Month! He has grown so much throughout this year. He is always very enthusiastic when he serves and is a very spirited Pirate Penguin. At Fall Rally, he waddled around and shared his friendliness with those around him. He definitely made the most of out the experience. Additionally, he fundraised so much for ELIMINATE when it came to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! But that’s not all! He goes beyond club events and bonds with the rest of Division 19 North. Even after Fall Rally, his attendance (including those at DCMs) has been superb. He encourages his fellow penguins to join in on the fun! Ikenna is a shining star spreading his joy with his BEE-autiful smile and vivacity! DIVISION 19 NEWSLETTER | JANUARY 2016 | PAGE 27

Catherine Roman
The member of the month for the month of November is Catherine Roman. We as a board were more than happy to award Catherine because she was a brand new member that had just signed up for Key Club this year and now with Dedication she has been to multiple events meetings both in our school club and divisional. She has attended multiple service events, Division Council Meetings and she even came to cheer her heart out at Fall Rally. We would like to walk beside Catherine on her journey with Key Club to see far her dedication will take her.
