welcome... ...to the start of a new era for your ‘new’ New Theatre Royal! It has been an incredible journey for us and I am delighted to be welcoming you all back into our lovely heritage building with its fabulous new extension. Gone are the portacabins in the wasteland as we re-emerge with a new spacious Stagehouse; the Minghella Studio as our creative space; the elegant Phipps Café and Matcham Bar and an exciting new partnership with University of Portsmouth. A very big thank you to all our funders and supporters who believed in us and helped us fund this extraordinary transformation. We have just reached the finishing line, so please bear with us as we continue to snag and adjust. We are thrilled to be launching our first season and know that it will only get better and better as we get to know our new building. This Season we bring you a West End classic The Mousetrap on its 60th anniversary tour, razor-sharp Les Enfants Terribles (who brought The Trench), favourites Show of Hands and Oddsocks, a fun new Christmas show The Santa Trap, and invite you to explore, experiment, learn and play in our brand new Minghella Studio. This is just the beginning...
