What better way to celebrate a special occasion than to give a loved one a personally created wooden pen turned on a lathe. We will turn a series of three pens including a slim line and an inlaid model. Experience the basics of faceplate turning with a smaller, cherry dish. You will use woodworking equipment and discuss tool setup and purchasing. No previous experience is required.

A duck model is a great starting point to explore carving “in the round”. Using a band saw and some basic chisels and files, you will learn the technique of 3-D carving though understanding wood grain direction and the cutting action of tools. Attention will also be given to grinding and honing carving tools. Depending on individual progress, there may be time to create a second duck or a simple sign using the CNC router.

Find out everything you need to know about chalk paints and waxes for wood furniture. You will be able to try your hand at application techniques such as dry brushing, washes, layering and distressing. Complete your piece using soft and dark waxes. For the second class, bring a small piece of furniture to re-chic.

Diploma Exam Prep We've got you COVERED! Ease the stress of your diploma exams and get the support you need to conquer them once and for all. You will review the major curriculum topics for that subject and discover strategies for successful exam writing. Small class sizes offer more personalized support. Office Hours Our office hours are: • Monday through Thursday 8:30 am - 7:30 pm • Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm • Closed between 1 - 4:30 pm the first Wednesday of every month for a staff meeting

Age Requirements Most classes are designed for adult learners over the age of 16. Children as young as 12 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. In certain circumstances, younger children are admitted to a course (subject to administrative approval).

Payment All fees are due at the time of registration with the exception of specified instructor manuals. Registration is confirmed when payment is processed. You will receive confirmation of registration by e-mail or mail.
