Most classes are designed for adult learners over the age of 16. Children as young as 12 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. In certain circumstances, younger children are admitted to a course (subject to administrative approval).

We do our very best to make sure all of our courses run for your enjoyment; however, sometimes we will cancel a class due to unexpected events or low enrollment. In this case, we make every effort to accommodate you in another class. If there is no other class which is satisfactory to you, you will receive a full refund.

Cooking In the Spotlight Bobby McKinnon, Red Seal Chef

Chef Bobby’s passion for culinary arts was sparked as a young teen when he worked in a busy restaurant kitchen. After graduating from the NAIT Culinary Arts program, Bobby brought his creativity, energy and expertise to restaurants and catering, quickly becoming a corporate Executive Chef, where he expanded his knowledge not only about cuisines but about enhancing the overall experience for guests. He is currently a personal chef, has his own consulting business, is a corporate chef for a local hospitality group in Edmonton, and mentors young people entering the profession. He has showcased his expertise and knowledge with Continuing Education since 2017.

Earn a certificate in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and be able to provide the help needed to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Like physical first aid, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment can be found or until the crisis is resolved. MHFA is an evidence-based program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Topics covered include: substance related disorders, mood related disorders, anxiety and trauma related disorders and psychotic disorders.
