¿¿ A Malaysian Chinese, Mr Tham is the founder of Parkson Department Store chain in Vietnam. He has been holding the position of CEO and General Director of Parkson Vietnam from the year 2005 until Dec 2014. Besides Vietnam, he was also overseeing the expansion and operations of Parkson Myanmar and Parkson Cambodia.
¿¿ Mr Jeremy, a graduate from Canada in B.Arts in Management and Economics, has at least 30 years of working in senior positions in the FMCG business industry for many multinational companies.
¿¿ Mr Tham joined Parkson Corporation in the year 1987 and has held other positions in the company such as Merchandising Manager and General Manager of the Store Development and Property Division. ¿¿ Prior to Parkson, Mr Tham had previously worked for Emporium & Supermarket Holdings Group, as well as Japanese’s Kimisawa Supermarket chain in Malaysia. ¿¿ During his career in the retail industry, Mr Tham has participated in numerous Supermarket & Departmental Store Management courses in Japan, and the Retail Management Course at Cornell University in New York , USA, which has equipped him with the vast knowledge and exposure in the retail industry.
¿¿ Mr Jeremy has also founded and single handedly spearheaded the consumer division in Malaysia for East Asiatic Company (Denmark). ¿¿ In Effem Foods Inc, Mr Jeremy was the Regional Manager in ASEAN, building main brands of confectionary, pet food and human food, appointing and managing distributors in the region. ¿¿ Mr. Jeremy was the General Manager for Oetker International (Asia) Pte Ltd and used to be the Managing Director for CSM Trading Sdn Bhd (A subsidiary of CSM Bhd).
