ACCELERATED DEGREE PROGRAM 3+1
A Powerful Educational Experience Get a head start on your accounting career by applying for the Distinguished Accounting Scholar Accelerated Degree (3+1) Program sponsored by Deloitte. Students obtain both their Bachelor of Business Administration and their Master of Business Administration degrees in four years rather than the usual five. This program is geared towards incoming students who have completed some college level courses during high school careers.
The 3+1 program offers: • • • •
Earn your BBA/MBA in four years Advisement and career guidance from faculty advisor Firsthand experience in top-tier internships at one or more of Western New York’s most successful accounting firms CPA planning and strategy course to prepare to sit for CPA exam
Students will also work closely with Niagara’s awardwinning career services department to prepare them for leadership roles in their careers and to develop the effective communication skills necessary to network at professional events for a successful professional career. They will also receive assistance in resume development and interview skills to prepare them to succeed in their professional career.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Through NU’s awardwinning Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, students offer free tax assistance to those in need providing an invaluable learning experience while also supporting the community.

Members of the Beta Alpha Psi international accounting honor society travel across the world to network and gain a broader understanding of financial systems.
All NU accounting faculty are licensed professionals, certified public accountants, and/or doctorally trained. There is even a faculty member who is a certified fraud examiner.

ACCELERATED DEGREE PROGRAM 3+1 NU’s Holzschuh College of Business Administration offers comprehensive exam prep class (with nationally recognized exam prep software) to help you prepare to stand out as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Students can also pursue the CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certifications.

The college’s annual Meet the Accounting and Business Professionals event is excellent for making connections and sharing resumes with more than 50 private, nonprofit, and government employers. “Niagara truly understands the diverse career field of accounting. I took electives on data analytics, which led me to a career in fraud detection and deterrence.”
