Students pursuing our Accounting program are receiving a full-packaged degree for foundational accounting and advanced curriculum to pursue Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure or Charter Global Management Accounting (CGMA) designation.
Already have your undergrad in Accounting?
For those who are looking to sit for the CPA exam, you will take advanced level curriculum including a prep course for the CPA exam as part of our 33-credit-hour MBA program.
Looking to switch careers?
CPA your way is a program designed for students who completed their undergraduate studies in a field other than accounting and now seek to change careers or accelerate your career to new heights. This is a two-year, 69-credit-hour graduate program that meets New York state’s 150-hour education requirement for CPA licensing as follows: • 33 accounting credit hours • At least one auditing course • 36 general business credit hours • At least one taxation course Anyone with a bachelor’s degree is eligible to enroll, but those with a business background may require less than 69 credit hours of work. The program can be completed in as little as 24 months full time.
Want to pursue a managerial accounting career?
Along with your previous business professional experience, a CGMA designation will give you the competitive advantage to accelerate your professional career while adding value by supporting and driving optimal decisions in all functional areas of business. Students taking these courses have the opportunity to complete the CGMA professional exams while completing their course work at NU.
