FOOD INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP Future-Proofing the Food Industry Niagara’s Food Industry Leadership program is an interdisciplinary program that enables students to gain core knowledge about the vast and diverse food industry while they pursue their chosen academic field. This program is designed so students gain valuable experience and knowledge about a fundamentally important industry. The food industry is critical to the welfare of society; engaged business leaders are vital to help develop creative and forward-looking solutions to current and emerging challenges.

Industry-Focused Curriculum This program is designed so that as students pursue their degree in any business discipline, they complete business electives in key topics such as the global food industry, supply chain logistics in the food industry, omni-channel marketing, and transportation systems, to name a few. Our curriculum is guided and informed by an advisory board of top leaders in the food and consumer packaged goods industry. Students will select courses in the following areas: • Three courses in Food & Consumer Packaged Goods • One course in Supply Chain & Logistics • Two courses in Business & Leadership

You can integrate the Food Industry Leadership program into your discipline of choice. The program is designed to allow students gain deeper knowledge about the food industry within the context of their chosen field.

The food industry is multifaceted and the employment opportunities are extensive. This program provides students with the opportunity to study the discipline of their choice while becoming familiar with an industry that really does make a difference.

The faculty are recognized experts in the field of food logistics, global food systems, and food value chain management. Courses are also taught by professionals in the field who have access to the top industry executives assuring that our classes are current and relevant.

FOOD INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP Students have the opportunity to present at competitions hosted by the Clorox Corporation and the National Grocers Association and participate in a mentoring program with food and logistics practitioners. These experiences lead to internships and employment with national and regional firms such as Rich Products, Lactalis American Group, Rosina Foods, FIFCO, and many others. “The Western and Central New York region has some of the most innovative and globally recognized food manufacturers, retailers, and processors in all of North America. The opportunity to help support the industry’s human capital needs with bright, intuitive future leaders is the mission that the Food Industry Center of Excellence has established with Niagara University in creating this program.
