This exuberantly cynical play combines the comedy of wedding nerves, club toilets and young love with bitter truth. Willy Russell portrays a young, engaged couple, unwittingly rolling up at the same seedy Liverpool venue for their stag and hen nights. Mayhem ensues for both parties. We are left wondering whether the bride to be will choose to endure the expectations of her peers and the confines of her social class or escape the speeding current of dayafter-day dissatisfaction.
