Phew, What A Scorchio! With no significant rainfall recorded in June or July, Ibiza and Formentera are facing the possibility of one of the driest and hottest summers ever. Temperatures of over 30 degrees were reached this week and, add to that the humidity of the island, it was only the respite of the sea breezes from the north east that helped keep us a little cooler in the sweltering heat. The weather experts predict no rain until the end of August at the earliest and temperatures remaining high. Our thanks in advance to anybody who wishes to point out that scorchio does not exist in the Spanish language,
