Design Boards
SUMMARY
The following boards will collate and unify my physical and digital presence, and will set a standard for my visual identity and tone of voice.
FOR REGULAR USE
1.5X NAME HEIGHT
LOGOTYPE AT L E A S T 3 X L E N G T H O F N A M E
Nicky Hope The logotype, which is a mininamlist representation of a search bar, is inherently linked to my practice as a user interface designer. It will be the most commonly used element of my visual identity, and is suitable for use almost anywhere.
LOGOMARK FOR SPECIAL USE
The logomark, which represents my interests in exploration (pine tree), the future (rocket), and progression (upwards facing arrow), is only to be used in scenarios where a logo mark is beneficial. This could include a website, letterhead, invoice or business card (though the use of a business card would carry with it an inherent irony). Permitted only in white, black and grey.
TONE-OFVOICE
Depending on the space available and context given, the following personal profiles can be used: Nicky Hope Visual Designer from Northumberland Nicky Hope Designer from Northumberland Nicky Hope Visual Designer When possible, mentioning an interest in technology, emerging transport, space, and making a more exciting future can help to establish a coherent personal purpose and mission. Mentioning origins in Northumberland gives context to a love of exploration, and widens knowledge of the county’s existence.
HERO IMAGERY
A consistent presentation standard helps to establish a stronger and more identifiable portfolio. Large-scale, dramatic imagery should be employed and interface designs should be shown in the context they would be accessed. Mockups should utilise the most recent or upcoming consumer devices to materialise an understanding of current technology.
WEBSITE
A minimal but considered website design that puts all emphasis on the work, allowing it to be used as a primary portfolio and base of online operations.
