NIGHT&DAY MAGAZINE (N&D Mag) is a monthly free magazine of about 132-164 pages that in just five years has become a reference for tourists and citizens of Ibiza and Formentera. Its wide content offers a variety of news and reviews of places where to go at night and day, with a touch of entertainment based on music.

N&D Mag consists of two sections: the first for information (map, useful numbers and the best venues recommended by the staff) while the other includes a series of photographic services, interviews with important people, such as DJs and VIPs, and reviews on places showing the most authentic faces. Matinée Group ¡Brindemos todos juntos en Amnesia!

La historia de la isla es rica, empezando por los cartagineses hace casi tres mil años, millones de personas han recalado en este territorio mágico.

Y aunque la antigüedad nos habla de batallas imposibles y diosas de la fertilidad, la historia contemporánea de la isla no se queda corta.

Es legendaria la relación simbiótica que se estableció en los 70 con el movimiento hippie, en los 80 con los primeros sintetizadores (ese Balearic House fresco en la memoria) y el boom del Chill Out. En los 90, el Progressive House articuló el corredor electrónico global: las salas al aire libre fueron el escenario de excepción donde el sonido alineaba el uno con el todo y se podía bailar hasta agotarse uno y recargar pilas con el mismo movimiento.

Matinée Group, esa entidad conocida en el mundo entero, pero que nadie sabe muy bien de dónde sale o en manos de quién está, es una de las piezas clave en el desarrollo reciente de la isla. Este verano celebramos quince años de trabajo, innovación y genio, pero, sobre todo, de fiesta: mucha fiesta.

Matinée Group Para entender este fenómeno tenemos que trasladarnos a Barcelona. La ciudad lleva dos décadas, más o menos desde sus Olimpiadas, creciendo como la capital cosmopolita por excelencia. The island’s history is rich – from the times of Cartago almost 3000 years ago, millions of individuals have walked this magical land. While Antiquity offers endless stories of impossible battles and fertility goddesses, the island’s contemporary history doesn’t fall short.

It is the stuff of legend: the symbiotic relationship the hippies established with the island during the 70s, the arrival of the 80s synths (the original Balearic House is still fresh in our memories) and the flabbergasting Chill Out boom. During the 90s, Progressive House articulated the global surge of electronic music – it all felt perfect and we could dance to the point of exhaustion and recharge with the same movements.

Firmo las telas no con mis nombres, porque eso identificaría una dimensión espacio-temporal, sino a través de un logotipo impersonal (//), formado por dos líneas paralelas que aparecen entre paréntesis: la unión del yin y el yang, el número once y símbolo de las realidades paralelas.

I interpret colour vibrations. In other words, I’m a painter.

I don’t sign my paintings with my name, because that would identify a dimension in time and space, but with an impersonal logo (//), formed by two parallel lines inside brackets: the union of yin and yang, the number eleven and the symbol of parallel realities.

El arte de la nueva conciencia, pintar para despertarme y despertar, ampliar la conciencia a través de otras realidades paralelas, esto es lo que yo llamo Connection(//)Art, el arte de la conexión. A través de prácticas de meditación chamánicas y de la búsqueda sin fin del Ser verdadero, mi estado de conciencia se expande, lo que me permite canalizar niveles de energía cada vez más finos, que se materializan en el lienzo e influyen directamente en el espectador. El observador de una pintura vibra con la misma intensidad que la de la imagen que observa.

The art of the new consciousness, painting to awaken and arouse myself, expanding consciousness through other parallel realities: this is what I call Connection(//)Art, the art of connection. Through the shamanic practices of meditation and the endless search for the true being, my state of consciousness expands, allowing me to channel increasingly finer levels of energy that then materialize on the canvas and have a direct influence on the viewer.

The observer of a painting vibrates with the same intensity as the picture you see.

I paint to free myself, and then release myself: we’re all on a journey to be complete.

Re ² -Encontro significa: re-encontrar a sí mismo a través del re-encuentro con la Madre Tierra (Pachamama). Esta serie se inspira en la visión Inka del cosmos: el hombre que vino de las estrellas es una parte creativa holística del universo.

La exposición Connection(//)Art se podrá visitar hasta finales de septiembre en diferentes restaurantes y cafeterías de la isla. En cada sitio está presente una o varias obras: el arte de la conexión entre distintas ciudades de Ibiza, un viaje hacia el Ser entero.

Re ² - ‘Encontro’ means re-finding yourself through the reencounter with Mother Earth (Pachamama). This series is inspired by the Inca vision of the cosmos: the men who came from the stars are the representation of a creative and holistic view of the universe.

The exhibition Connection(//)Art can be visited until late September in various restaurants and cafes on the island.

In each place there are one or more works: the art of connection between different towns in Ibiza, a journey to the entire being.

Stop: parada técnica –––– de quince días That’s fate... Technical stop for 15 days Let’s flow, deja que fluya... Momento de reflexión.

Andaba yo estos días ajetreada ya con todo el lío que supone estar en mitad de temporada: el artículo, las clases, las actividades y con otros proyectos y más «tengo que»… cuando la vida me detiene. Lesión en el tendón de Aquiles. Parada técnica de quince días. ¡Y todo cambia!

Momento de reflexión y toma de conciencia. Así que también cambié la temática del artículo y decidí hablar este mes sobre cómo podemos aprender de estos casos. Todo accidente o enfermedad llega en un determinado momento de tu vida para decirte que hay algo en tu camino que estaba cogiendo la dirección equivocada, o simplemente para anunciarte un deseo interno que, a través del sufrimiento de tu físico, te va ayudar a la comprensión y toma de conciencia de tu voz interior. Muchas veces aparece porque no tomamos conciencia de nuestra esencia. Somos una especie de malabaristas intentando buscar el equilibrio entre las necesidades, los deseos y las cuestiones de casa y el trabajo... y al final caemos. Una caída nos enseña a hablar con nosotros mismos. Quiénes somos, a dónde vamos, qué dirección queremos tomar... Cualquier enfermedad es un lenguaje interior y nos ayuda a comprendernos.

Toma conciencia cada mañana para conectar con esa voz interior, respira, estírate y date al menos cinco minutos sólo para existir. Contempla la vida en su realidad y no te exijas demasiado, sé benévolo contigo mismo y trátate con amor. ¡Feliz agosto, amigos! Os aconsejo una bebida refrescante para estas tardes de verano: sandía o melón licuados con lima y menta, o mi favorita: ¡horchata de chufa!

I’d been really busy of late with all the midseason chaos: the article, the classes, events, and more projects... when life stopped me in my tracks.

An Achilles tendon accident. A technical stop for 15 days.

And everything changes!

A moment of reflection and awareness. I also changed the theme of the article and this month I decided to talk about how we can learn from situations like this.

All accidents or illness arrive at a time in your life to tell you that there is something in your way, you were going in the wrong direction, or simply to say that an inner desire – through the physical pain – will help you understand and listen to your inner voice.

This is because we often don’t realize what our essence is. We’re like a juggler, trying to find a balance between the needs, desires and issues at home and work...

And finally we fall. A fall teaches us to speak to ourselves.

Who we are, where we’re going, what direction we want to take.

Every disease is an inner language and helps us to understand ourselves.

Make sure you connect with that inner voice every morning, breathe, stretch and give yourself at least 5 minutes just to exist.

Contemplate your life in the world you live in and do not push yourself too much, be kind to yourself and treat yourself with love.

La actriz y nueva revelación del cine inglés, Mia Lacostena, me recibe en su casa de Londres, donde reside actualmente. Mia es 50 % producto nacional, 50 % producto British, una súpermezcla que está cosechando muchos éxitos en el cine internacional.

Mia es misterio, sensualidad, elegancia, sus facciones nada comunes han enamorado a los directores. Tiene ese tipo de personalidad que parece que nada vaya con ella, pero está siempre metida en todo. Mia – Pronto, quiero venir este verano, pero tengo rodajes importantes, quizás en septiembre.

En búsqueda del Balearic beat In search of the Balearic beat A estas alturas del verano ya nos podemos hacer una idea de los clubs que serán los ganadores del 2013.

Cada año la competición es más dura y, si me pongo en el lugar de un turista que viene una semana de vacaciones a Ibiza, creo que hay tener una muy buena planificación para disfrutar de la isla sea de día o de noche. O traer una cartera bien llena de dinero.

El boom de propuestas para salir hace que la gente ya no sepa muy bien dónde ir. La cantidad nunca ha sido sinónimo de calidad. En estos tiempos de crisis, las discotecas y los beach clubs llevan a cabo una intensa guerra para llevarse el mayor número de clientes. Así pues es normal que algunos hagan pleno total y otros se queden totalmente vacíos.

Los DJ de ahora son verdaderos pop stars igual que las top models fueron como estrellas de cine en los 90. El verdadero nightclubbing queda un poco oculto detrás de los «conciertos». Nunca he visto un abanico tan grande de ofertas pre party, party, after party en mi vida.

Pero ¿hay suficientes visitantes en la isla para todos ellos? Lo dudo. Ibiza está pasando por un momento de transición y todos contenemos la respiración ante lo que pasará en el futuro. La principal particularidad que hizo famosa nuestra querida Ibiza es su naturalidad y la simpatía de sus habitantes.

Tal vez no haya que olvidar esto: ir a lo esencial es la mejor forma de pasar unas relajantes vacaciones.

Hace unos días, Vladimir Putin promulgó una ley vergonzosa que castiga la propaganda homosexual en presencia de menores de edad. De acuerdo con esta ley homófoba, quien la transgreda se enfrenta a una multa de hasta 5000 rublos. Mucho más elevada es la multa para los que ocupan un cargo público: en este caso es de hasta 50 mil rublos e ¡incluso llega hasta 1 millón de rublos para un magistrado! Sin embargo, ¿a qué se arriesgan los turistas en Rusia? La multa en este caso no es sólo de naturaleza económica (100.000 rublos), sino que llega a una pena de prisión de hasta 15 días, o incluso la expulsión del país. Invitamos a todos los turistas homosexuales a protestar evitando ir a Rusia mientras se mantenga en vigor esta ley tan vergonzosa que viola los derechos humanos. Desde Ibiza, donde la ley española prevé el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo, por el momento, con asombro y escándalo esto es todo.

En 2001 empecé a pinchar por afición y profesionalmente a partir de 2006.

Tu club favorito en el mundo.

Mi país favorito es, sin duda, España. También me encanta Italia y Ámsterdam, y soy un gran admirador de Sudamérica en general. Mis discotecas preferidas son Space Ibiza, El Row en Barcelona, ​​Footwork en Toronto, Amnesia Ibiza, Woodstock 69 en Ámsterdam y Weekend en Berlín.

My favourite country is definitely Spain. I also really love Italy and Amsterdam and I’m a big fan of South America in general.

Your best gig so far.

I couldn’t choose one but I’d say any time I play in Ibiza.

Plans for this summer?

After my gigs at Amnesia and Space in July, this month I’m playing at El Row Privilege and also twice at Sands with Nicole Moudaber and Dubfire. I will stay in Ibiza for four weeks and I hope to be able to have some time for myself even though I have gigs all over the world.

Los propietarios han puesto a disposición de sus clientes las tarjetas FIDELITY y VIP, ¡por lo que la ventaja está garantizada!

Lo único que no hay que olvidar cuando vayais al Café Le Vele es el bañador: tenemos la playa a pocos pasos de distancia ¡y sería una pena no aprovecharla!

Hemos sido amigos durante años, pero empezamos oficialmente este proyecto a principios de 2012. Desde entonces ha sido un torbellino pinchando en todo el mundo, incluyendo algunos de nuestros clubes favoritos, Fabric London, Panorama Bar Berlin y, por supuesto, DC10 Ibiza. De hecho, estamos muy emocionados por el segundo showcase de Apollonia, que durará toda la noche en DC10, el 24 de agosto. ¡Así que podemos decir que las cosas pintan bien para Apollonia! ¿Vuestra primera vez en Ibiza? ¿Y vuestra relación con la isla?

Dan: ¡El after en Space en el año 2000! No mucho tiempo después de que nos enteramos de un after donde había mucha música undergound y buenas «vibras»... fue cuando descubrimos DC10 por primera vez. Conseguí mi primer concierto allí gracias mi recopilatorio Batofar, y me convertí en uno de los residentes de DC10 al año siguiente.

Apollonia se convirtió en un evento anual.

Ahora tenemos la villa Apollonia durante la toda temporada, para poder trabajar y hacer fiesta juntos.

Shonky: Hablando de Apollonia, la primera vez que tocamos oficialmente en Ibiza fue en la apertura de DC10 en 2012. ¿Hay alguna regla entre vosotros cuando estás pinchando?

No hay reglas, pero el concepto es un vinilo cada uno, back-to-backto-back. Nuestro objetivo es sonar como un artista, no como tres personas... durante el set tenemos que estar completamente en sinergia entre nosotros... ¡Venid al DC10 el 24 de agosto si queréis entenderlo de verdad! ¿Quién pone la primera pista? ¿Y la última?

Por lo general, siempre es Dan que pone la primera pista. Y para la última, quién sabe... eso lo dejamos al azar.

What’s Apollonia?

Apollonia is the name of our record label and also our back-to-backto-back DJ outfit. We’ve been friends for years but started up this official group project at the beginning of 2012. Since then it’s been a whirlwind playing all over the world, including some of our favourite clubs; Fabric London, Panorama Bar Berlin, and of course DC10 Ibiza. In fact we are super excited for the second Apollonia ‘all night long’ showcase coming up at DC10 on 24th August. So we can say things are looking good for Apollonia!

your relationship with the island?

Dan: The Space after-party in 2000!

Not long after we heard about an after-party where there was lots of underground music and cool vibes… This was when we first discovered DC10! I got my first booking there thanks to the Batofar compilation I did, and became a DC10 resident the year after.

Dyed: Shonky and I discovered Ibiza a year or so after Dan and it quickly became an annual affair.

We now have the Apollonia Villa for the full season so we can work and party together.

Shonky: Talking about Apollonia, our first time playing officially in Ibiza was the DC10 opening 2012!

Are there any rules between you guys when you’re playing?

No rules, but the concept is one vinyl each, back-to-back-to-back.

We aim to sound like one artist, not three individuals… Throughout the set we should be completely in synergy with each other… Come down to DC10 on 24th August if you want to really understand!

Who’s going to play the first and last tracks?

Usually it’s Dan who plays the first track. And for the last track, who knows… We leave that one to chance!

Can Caus Subiendo desde Ibiza hacia Santa Gertrudis, en el km 3,5 (1 km antes de Santa Gertrudis) nos encontramos con el Restaurante Can Caus, un referente en la cocina ibicenca con unas espléndidas terrazas ajardinadas idóneas para los calurosos días o noches de verano.

También se pueden degustar platos típicos de la gastronomía de la isla como arroces típicos, softit pages, carnes de cordero y cabrito de nuestras granjas, además de impresionantes carnes de buey y ternera hechas a la brasa con carbón vegetal, sin olvidarnos del conejo, pollo, chorizos y lechón al horno.

Todo ello acompañado de alguna ensalada de productos frescos de la huerta ibicenca o de las deliciosas patatas fritas payesas.

Para los que no les guste la carne siempre tienen a su disposición algún plato de pescado y verduras.

A la hora del postre también nos encontramos una selección de productos de elaboración propia, como los yogures de cabra y oveja servidos con miel y nueces, requesón con hierbabuena, greixonera, flan, tarta de queso y flaó.

En la carta de vinos, muy variada, hay una selección de vinos de la tierra, de Ibiza, además de clásicos y nuevas apuestas de otras denominaciones de origen como Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Somontano, Priorato, Toro...

Después de la comida o cena recomendamos probar las hierbas ibicencas que elaboran ellos mismos de manera artesanal «Flors d´Eivissa», o algún Gin Tonic con las más de treinta ginebras y varias tónicas que disponen en su carta.

Uno de los DJ top de La Troya es Boy George one of the top DJs at La Troya El miércoles por la noche, en Amnesia Ibiza, el espectáculo de culto es La Troya, un espectáculo en el que música, coreografía y transgresión hacen que la noche sea inolvidable. Para la temporada 2013 uno de los DJ top de La Troya es Boy George. La historia de Boy George es larga y empieza en los 80, cuando era el niño prodigio del pop británico, primero con los Culture Club, y luego como solista, cuando cantó éxitos inolvidables como «Do you really want to hurt me». En los últimos años, tras una transformación camaleónica, Boy George se ha consolidado mundialmente como disc jockey. N&D Magazine y Ibizabynight lo han encontrado en el estudio de Radio Amnesia. La estrella pop del pasado ha dado paso a una persona muy afable, que aún mantiene su aspecto extravagante y colorido, y, después de una actuación en (casi) perfecto italiano, ha querido hablar sobre su relación con la isla de Ibiza: «Muchas personas afirman que Ibiza ha cambiado para peor. No estoy de acuerdo. Vine aquí por primera vez en 1986 y creo que el ambiente ha mejorado considerablemente, la gente es más amable, todo es más relajado».

On Wednesday night in Ibiza, at Amnesia, the cult show is La Troya: a show where music, choreography, and transgression make the night unforgettable.

In 2013, one of the top DJs at La Troya is Boy George.

The story of Boy George is long and starts in the eighties, when as a Brit pop child protégé, first with Culture Club, and then as a soloist, sang unforgettable hits like ‘Do you really want to hurt me.’

In recent years, following a chameleon-like transformation, Boy George has established himself worldwide as a DJ. N&D Magazine and Ibizabynight met him at the Radio Amnesia studio.

The pop star of the past has given way to a very affable person, who always keeps his flamboyant and colourful look, and, after a performance in (almost) perfect Italian, he wanted to talk about his relationship with Ibiza: ‘Many people claim that Ibiza has changed for the worse. I don’t agree.

I came here for the first time in 1986, and I think the atmosphere has significantly improved, people are more friendly, everything is more relaxed. ’ The conversation has inevitably moved on to his role at La Troya: ‘The club (Amnesia) is absolutely fantastic and La Troya is a great concept, where many colourful people like me work – it’s something great and beautiful.

I’m happy to be here and to have met you!’

Empecé a pinchar cuando tenía 22, aunque a producir música a los 16. ¿Recuerdas la primera vez que pinchaste en Ibiza?

Claro, fue con Tiefschwarz en Space cuando me invitaron a tocar con ellos en su residencia.

I was born in Southern Germany

but I now live in Berlin and have been here for the past 11 years.

I am a resident at Steve Lawler´s Viva Warriors at Sankeys. Ibiza really is one of the best places to DJ. When and how did you start Djing?

I started DJing at the age of 22, although I actually started producing music at the age of 16.

Do you remember the first time you played in Ibiza?

Yes I do, it was with Tiefschwarz at Space when they invited me to play alongside them at their residency.

16a EDICIÓN DE LOS PREMIOS DJ AWARDS MIÉRCOLES 25 DE SEPTIEMBRE 2013 PACHA IBIZA DJ Awards regresan el próximo martes 25 de septiembre en Pacha Ibiza. Con esta edición, ya son 16 años celebrando esta ceremonia que desde su creación en 1998, se ha mantenido fiel honrando el talento de los Dj´s.

Finalmente, se confirma la tan esperada lista de categorías y nominados para este año 2013.

Después de un largo y controvertido debate en el que han participado varios expertos de la música electrónica, los cuales han aportado infinidad de sugerencias, antes de poder llegar a estas nominaciones.

Los DJ Awards, en esta ocasión, presentan 9 categorías distintas dónde el público podrá votar a sus Dj’s favoritos, para que de esta manera puedan ser galardonados con la prestigiosa Kryptonita.

Las votaciones ya están abiertas en www.djawards. com y se cerrarán a finales de agosto. También hay un apartado de 11 premios especiales, en los que un jurado especializado decidirá quiénes son los elegidos y se presentarán durante la ceremonia.

No podemos esperar que la crítica y el público coincidan con todos; las preferencias siempre son muy subjetivas.

Y no podemos olvidar que esto es siempre una celebración y no una competición.

Soy CEO de Quadra Medical.

Quadra Medical ha sido la primera empresa en el mundo en lanzar un nuevo concepto de belleza: Fast Beauty, cosméticos de nueva generación para proteger y rejuvenecer la piel con la marca That’so (www.thatso.it). ¿Conoces Ibiza y Formentera?

Conozco bien Ibiza y Formentera y vengo desde hace al menos ocho años. Estas islas son únicas en su esencia, naturales, jóvenes e internacionales. Muchas veces me inspiro en ellas para nuevos productos. ¿Qué consejo darías a nuestros lectores?

El futuro de nuestra generación es el cuidado de la piel. Ralentizar el envejecimiento a través de la utilización de cosméticos de nueva generación y proteger la piel de los agentes externos y de la exposición a los rayos UV se convertirá en un plus importante. ¿Dónde se pueden encontrar vuestros productos?

Hoy en día es importante informar a los jóvenes sobre las nuevas tendencias, especialmente cuando afectan a la salud de nuestro cuerpo, y estoy feliz de que vuestra revista apoye estas filosofías.

I’m the CEO of Quadra Medical.

Are you familiar with Ibiza and Formentera? I’m familiar with Ibiza and Formentera. I’ve been coming here for at least 8 years.

These islands are unique in their essence, and are natural, young and international. I often find inspiration for new products.

What advice would you give to our readers?

The future of our generation is skin care. Slowing skin aging through the use of new generation cosmetics and protecting skin from external agents and to exposure to UV rays will become a major plus.

Where can they find your products?

For the first time the products will reach our customers thanks to a promotion on the beaches of Ibiza, and we’ll be launching a new campaign to protect skin and allow you to sunbathe at the same time + TAN - UV, the first tanning lotion without UV that tans the skin 100% naturally, no stains and without that typical orange colour of self-tanning.

So can we forget about tanning lamps?

Today it is important to inform young people about new trends especially when they affect our body’s health, and I’m happy that your magazine supports this philosophy.

Este mes os voy a presentar a Djebali, un nuevo DJ con mucho talento y productor que se graduó primero como ingeniero de sonido en la escuela Infamous SAE y forma parte de Lola Ed Crew.

Nombre. Mehdi Djebali.

Edad. 29. ¿De dónde eres?

Nací y crecí en París, pero soy mitad francés por mi madre y mitad tunecino por mi padre.

Relación con Ibiza.

Era el nuevo chico de Ibiza cuando llegué aquí por primera vez en 2011, Dan Ghenacia y su mujer Sofía me invitaron a venir para mi cumpleaños. ¡Desde entonces no puedo imaginarme un verano sin venir aquí! ¿Cuándo empezaste a producir y a pinchar?

Empecé a pinchar hace más de diez años y desde 2008 he estado produciendo. Empecé publicando en el sello de Jay Haze Tuning Spork, luego en Freak n’Chic (sello de Dan Ghenacia) y unos cuantos más... Desde 2011 tengo mi propio sello llamado ( djebali ), donde sólo publico mis producciones y sólo en vinilo, no en digital. Ahora estamos en la séptima publicación y todo va muy bien, ya que toda la serie está agotada. ¿Qué hardware/software utilizas para producir?

Utilizo una gran variedad de hardware: 2 antiguos MPC de Akai son el centro de mi estudio y controlan todos mis otros sintetizadores (Roland SH101, SH09, Juno 60, waldorf Q rack y otros expansores). También tengo otros hardwares de efectos como algunos viejos reverberadores y

Djebali compresores Drawmer de Lexicon, y varias unidades secretas de múltiples efectos.

Como software, tengo Protools, ya que es el que he usado desde que estudiaba para ingeniero de sonido en 2004. ¿Tu primera actuación en Ibiza?

Pinché por primera vez en Ibiza en verano de 2010 para el cumpleaños de Soundorom, en Circoloco. Desde entonces he tocado varias veces para DC10 y voy a estar en Circoloco de nuevo el 12 de agosto y el 2 de septiembre. También toqué varias veces para Sankeys y Underground.

Háblanos de tus proyectos personales.

Tengo mi fiesta en París, en el Club Social llamado Ideal Juice.

Ya he hecho cuatro ediciones con grandes artistas como The Martinez Brothers, Christian Burkhardt, dOP, Premiesku, etc. y la próxima será el 17 de agosto ¡con Kenny Larkin y Molly! Voy a empezar la temporada el 2 de octubre y ya tengo confirmados algunos súper artistas.

Por lo que se refiere a la producción, voy a seguir publicando en mi sello y empezaré un nuevo proyecto publicando a artistas jóvenes.

Pero de momento me centro en pasarlo bien en Ibiza, estaré toda la temporada aquí con mis amigos de Apollonia: Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom y Shonky. ¿Qué opinas sobre la revista N&D? ¡Me encantaría leer más de un número por mes!

This month I’m going to introduce you to Djebali, a talented new DJ/producer who graduated 1st from the Infamous SAE Audio Engineer School and then from the Lola Ed Crew.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Paris, but I’m half French from my mum, and half Tunisian from my father.

Relationship with Ibiza.

I am a new kid in Ibiza as I came here for the first time in 2011, it was Dan Ghenacia and his wife Sofia who offered me my first trip here for my birthday. Since then I can’t imagine a summer without coming here ;-) When did you start producing/DJing?

I first started DJing more than 10 years ago now, and since 2008 I’ve been into producing. I started by releasing on Jay Haze’s label Tuning Spork, then on Freak ‘n’ Chic (Dan Ghenacia’s label) and a few others... Since 2011 I’ve been running my own label called (Djebali), as it’s only my productions and releasing only on vinyl, no digital. We are now on the 7th release and all is going great as all the series is sold out.

What hardware/software do you use?

I produce with a lot of hardware: 2 old Akai MPC’s that are the centre of my studio and control all my others synths (Roland SH101, SH-09, Juno 60, Waldorf Q Rack, and other expanders).

Also hardware effects like some old Lexicon reverb and Drawmer Compressors, and several multieffect and secret units.

For software, I choose Pro Tools as it’s the one I’ve used since doing my Audio Engineer Program in 2004.

Your 1st gig in Ibiza?

I first played in Ibiza in summer 2010 for Dyed Soundorom’s birthday at Circoloco. Since then I’ve played several times for DC10 – I will be at Circoloco again on the 12th of August and the 2nd of September.

I’ve also played several times for Sankeys and Underground.

What’s your own project?

I run my own party in Paris, at Social Club called Ideal Juice I’ve already had 4 editions with great artists like The Martinez Brothers, Christian Burkhardt, dOP, Premiesku… – the 5th coming on the 17th of August with Kenny Larkin and Molly! I will start the 2nd season in October and already have some super artists confirmed!!

On the production front, I’ll continue releasing on my label and start a new project, releasing music from young artists…

But for now, I’m focusing on having fun in Ibiza, spending all season here with my friends from Apollonia – Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky.
