3rd Year Competition Project Partner: Andy Merida Fall 2016
The program includes two rooms for the performance art, a staff office, a meeting room, restrooms, and an art storage. The main concept of this project is to contrast the architecture from the rest of the neighborhood by stopping the rhythm of the building bays with a monumental mass and focus more on challenging the traditional brick construction and its materiality.

The architectural concept for this project is to create module units that can be shifted to create moments of entry and hangout spaces along with giving the students a tunnellike experience while walking through the canopy.

The program includes an apartment building, an underground cafe, and a tango studio. The main concept for this project is to distinct the ground, which is a social space, from the floating mass, which is a private space.

The density of the wood members follows the levels of privacy of the interior space of the apartments.
The form of the concrete shell follows the intention of bringing light to the entrance at the corner and sloping the roof down to reveal the mural behind it.

The program houses four people total, two in each cabin, with a viewing deck in the middle. The focus of my architecture is on the expression of the projection of the slope. The roof and the arched columns follow the curvature of the landscape.

Residence at the Canyon
