dreamcatcher

just follow this simple guide to get started and then be as free and creative as you like...

1

Tie one end of the string in a knot and working clockwise, stretch the string to a spot a few inches along the hoop and loop it round.

2

Stretch the string a few inches to the right and loop it around the hoop again. Continue making loops that are evenly spaced apart until you reach the beginning.

To continue weaving the web take the end of the string and weave it under the loop created between the first and second looped peaks. Make a "hitch" by using the thread to make a loop over the loose string.

3

Continue weaving the thread in this manner until you have made a hitch at the thread between every knot.

HOW TO in just three simple knots!

Crown Knot

1.

Dividing the cords into four, lay each cord over the top of the next, working clockwise, until you reach the first cord again. Loop the first cord using your thumb as a guide, and pull the previous cord through. Tighten by pulling all cords at the same time.

2.

Alternating Overhand Knot

This technique is often used for bags and hammocks. It resembles netting and is the perfect knot to use before attaching your cord to your doily, to create more of a base for your plant pot. The left-hand cord is tied around the right-hand cord. The first and third rows are the same. The first and last cords float in the second row.

3.

Half Hitch

A single or double loop is made around one/two knot-bearing cords. A series of half hitches will have a spiral or corkscerw appearance.
