So&So’s Inspiration - Sixties Patterns
The majority of cupcake related businesses out there have very feminine aesthetics with pastels colours, flowers and lots of nicey niceyness. The idea for our cupcake business to take inspiration from bold colourful patterns is exciting and interesting. Also fit for purpose when at Music Festivals when you truly have to stand out from the colourful eccentric crowd to stand out.
The concept could be stretched further than just colours and patterns. My partner and I also are considering taking inspiration from famous sixties icons such as John Lennon and Twiggy. We have played with the idea of naming smoothies and refreshments after the stars of the era. For example a classic smoothie could be named John Lennon. (A classic smoothie would be banana, strawberry, natural yoghurt and porridge oats).

So&So’s - Sustainable Packaging
Many Music Festivals are very environmentally concerned and the generation of as little waste as possible is of high importance. Considering this we would like our packaging to be as recyclable/bio-degradable or as re-usable as possible. We do not want this to limit our visual appearance though so we are considering going more down the re-usable route.

So&So’s - Festival Research
Here are some images of pre-existing ventures which have a similar concept to ours - travelling refreshments. We have both decided that this is the kind of aesthetic which we need to avoid, in order to stand out from the crowd. If the design is less feminine it should also hopefully draw in a larger target audience.
