Έλληνες, Ιταλοί, Γάλλοι και επισκέπτες από κάθε γωνιά του κόσμου έρχονται στην Πάτμο να ζήσουν το μυστικισμό του νησιού αλλά και να απολαύσουν υπηρεσίες υψηλών προδιαγραφών.

ΠΑΣΧΑΛΙΝΉ ΠΕΡΙΟΔΟΣ

Ή Τελετή του Νιπτήρα: Τη Μεγάλη Πέμπτη στην Πλατεία του Δημαρχείου, ο Ηγούμενος της Μονής πλένει τα πόδια 12 μοναχών, οι οποίοι κάθονται σε μία εξέδρα, όπως οι μαθητές του Ιησού στο Μυστικό Δείπνο. Greeks, Italians, French and people from all over the world visit Patmos every year, in order to experience the mysticism of the island and luxuriate in its services.

EASTER PERIOD

The Ceremony of the Washing: On Maundy Thursday in the town hall square, the abbot of the Monastery of Saint John washes the feet of 12 monks who seat on a board, representing Jesus who also washed his disciples’ feet during the Last Supper.

Τη Μεγάλη Παρασκευή οι επισκέπτες ανηφορίζουν στη Μονή του Αγίου Ιωάννη για να συμμετάσχουν στη τελετή της ιερής κατάνυξης. Το βράδυ, οι επιτάφιοι από τις εκκλησίες του νησιού θα ακολουθήσουν την πένθιμη πορεία τους, συνοδευόμενοι από τον κλήρο και τους πιστούς, μέσα από τα καλντερίμια του νησιού, για να συναντηθούν στις μεγάλες πλατείες της Χώρας και της Σκάλας. Το βράδυ του Μεγάλου Σαββάτου, η Μονή ανοίγει τις πύλες της για να μας υποδεχθεί για τη λειτουργία της Ανάστασης. Όταν ακουστεί το «Χριστός Ανέστη», τα βεγγαλικά θα φωτίσουν τον ουρανό και οι πιστοί θα κατηφορίσουν προς τις ταβέρνες του νησιού προς αναζήτηση τοπικών πασχαλινών εδεσμάτων.

Enactment of the Deposition from the

cross: On the Good Friday visitors and locals go uphill to the Monastery of Saint John in order to participate to the ceremony of holly devoutness. The same night, flower decorated epitaphs of all the churches of the island meet in the wide squares of Chora and Skala. Clerics perfume the road as Orthodox believers holding lighted Candles walk on the cobbled roads, officiating to the procession of the bier of Christ. The Night of the Holy Saturday: The monastery welcomes us all for the liturgy of the Resurrection. When the “Christ has risen” is heard, fireworks light up the sky and the Orthodox believers celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. After the Service, they go to traditional taverns to taste the delicious traditional local Easter dishes.

Ή Ακολουθία της Αγάπης θα κλείσει με τον πιο μεγαλειώδη συγκινησιακά τρόπο το τελετουργικό που ύμνησε τα Πάθη του Ιησού και την Ανάστασή του. The Service of Love: The ritual that praised the Passions of Christ and the Resurrection will be completed in the most emotionally majestic way.

Το απόγευμα της Κυριακής του Πάσχα

στη Μονή του Αγίου Ιωάννη η λειτουργία είναι αφιερωμένη στη δεύτερη Ανάσταση, μετά το πέρας της οποίας ο Ηγούμενος μοιράζει κόκκινα αυγά στους παρευρισκομένους. The afternoon of Easter Sunday: In the monastery of Saint John, the service is dedicated to the second Resurrection. At the end, the abbot distributes red eggs to everyone.

7 Ιουλίου: Έορτασμός της Αγίας Κυριακής

Το εκκλησάκι ανήκει στο συγκρότημα του “Patmos Paradise” στον Κάμπο. Γιορτάζει με τέλεση λειτουργίας συγκεντρώνοντας πιστούς από όλο το νησί.

27 Ιουλίου: Έορτασμός της Έκκλησίας

του Αγίου Παντελεήμονα Η εκκλησία είναι χτισμένη στο απέναντι νησάκι Χιλιομόδι, όπου μπορείτε να πάτε με βάρκα.

SUMMER PERIOD

7th of July: The celebration Day of Saint

Kiriaki The chapel is included in the holiday complex of “Patmos Paradise” in Kampos and celebrates with a great liturgy, gathering believers from all over the island.

27th of July: The Feast Celebration Day

of Saint Panteleimonas church. It is built on the small island of Chiliomodi. You can reach it only by boat.

ΠΑΝΉΓΥΡΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΑΥΓΟΥΣΤΟΥ

14 Αυγούστου: Βeach party στο Άγριο λιβάδι μέχρι το πρωί. 15 Αυγούστου: Εορτή της Κοίμησης της Θεοτόκου. Tip: Στο εξωκλήσι της Παναγίας του Γερανού, 11χλμ. από τη Σκάλα πραγματοποιείται μεγάλο πανηγύρι με νησιωτικό γλέντι που στήνουν τα όργανα, με φαγητό και χορό μέχρι πρωίας. 15 Αυγούστου: Βeach party στον Κάμπο μέχρι το πρωί. 23 Αυγούστου: Εορτάζει η Εκκλησία της Παναγίας του Χάρου στους Λειψούς.

AUGUST FEASTS

On the 14th of August a beach party takes place at Agriolivadi until dawn. 15th of August: The Assumption (of the Virgin). Tip: In the Chapel of the Virgin of Geranos, 11km from Skala, a unique local feast with live music, food and folk dances takes place until dawn. On the 15th of August a beach party takes place at Kampos until dawn. On the 23th of August is the Celebration of the Virgin of Charos in the island of Lipsi.

Αρχές Σεπτεμβρίου: Το Φεστιβάλ Θρησκευτικής Μουσικής,

το οποίο διοργανώνεται στο νησί πάνω από 10 χρόνια. Διαρκεί μία εβδομάδα. Είσοδος ελεύθερη.

Early September:

The Festival of Religious Music is being held in the island for over 10 years, lasts a week and has free entrance.

Φεστιβάλ Έλληνικών Παραδοσιακών

Χορών: Διοργανώνεται συνήθως στο αμφιθέατρο της Αποκάλυψης. Συγκροτήματα παραδοσιακών χορών από όλη την Ελλάδα συνθέτουν ένα εορταστικό σκηνικό με δωρεάν κρασί, γλέντι και χορό μέχρι πρωίας. 24 Σεπτεμβρίου: Εορτάζει η Αγία Θέκλα η Οσιαπόστολος και πανηγυρίζει το ομώνυμο εκκλησάκι στο νησάκι που βρίσκεται απέναντι από τον κόλπο του Αγριολίβαδου. 26 Σεπτεμβρίου: Εορτάζει το Ιερό Σπήλαιο της Αποκάλυψης και το Μοναστήρι του Άγιου Ιωάννη Θεολόγου. The Festival of Greek Folk Dances is usually set at the amphitheatre of the Apocalypse. Groups of folk dances from all over Greece compose a festive atmosphere with free wine and dance until dawn. On the 24th of September the celebration of Saint Thekla takes place at the homonymous church on the island, located across the bay of Agriolivadi. 26th of September: The Feast Day celebration of the Holy Cave of the Apocalypse and the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian.
