THE KEY TO LIFE LTG INTRODUCTION Hello Key Clubbers! My name is Ami Shah and it is my honor to serve as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 3 of the New Jersey District! I am excited to work with each and every one of you so we can make the 2010-2011 best service year ever! Currently, I am a sophomore at Eastern Regional High School. I am in my school’s orchestra, Student Council, and Science Club. I also enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my friends and family. As for Key Club, I was a general member my freshman year. Sophomore

year, I was a Class Director and was soon appointed to Vice President. For the 2010-2011 Service Year, I have many ideas and plan to implement communication in all of them to make our division prosper more than it ever has. Please feel free to contact me in any way! District Convention Recap By: Harsh Swaminarayan, LTG Division 15 The 64th Annual District Convention, held at the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, PA from April 16 to April 18 attracted close to 700 Key Clubbers across the New Jersey District. The convention featured a speech from Kiwanis International President Paul Palazzolo, words from New Jersey Circle K Governor Robert Acerra and New Jersey Kiwanis Governor Mark Esposito. Campaigning officially began on Friday night and the candidates for executive office spent their time at caucuses, swaying the crowd with moving speeches. Saturday Morning marked the beginning of the appreciation session of the convention, workshops were also held on Saturday morning ranging from “How to run for a Position”, held by Immediate Past District Secretary Namir Shah & Immediate Past LTG of Division 2, Amanda Parks, to a “Belly dancing” workshop held by the Immediate Past LTG of Division 15, Sally Awad. Saturday Afternoon included meeting the candidates for executive office and

international endorsement, preceded by the House of Delegates. After the House had convened, the new executive officers had been elected. Saturday evening included the Recognition Session of the Convention, followed by a “Board Auction” and dance. Sunday evening included a CSH Walk and the Farewell Session. In an emotional weekend, the New Jersey District Board of the 2009-2010 Service Year was also retired. At the end of the day, 21 new Lieutenant Governors and 4 executive officers had been installed. Congratulations and good luck to all those who served on the board, you all truly did do an amazing job. The new executive board was announced Saturday morning, the new Editor is Nicole Darrah, the treasurer for his second year in a row is Devan Corona, the secretary is Kevin Sun and last but certainly not least, the new Governor of the New Jersey District is Rachel Orbach. .

Officer Training Conferences – all officers must be trained by their Lieutenant Governor of their Division. Once clubs have had their elections and the club rosters have been completed, I will personally come to visit your club and train the club’s officers.
