Introduction Welcome back to school! With the start of the school year comes the ignition of your Key club’s spirit and enthusiasm! My name is Jared Greene and I’m your lieutenant governor for the 2010 – 2011 service year. I am very excited for the upcoming school year and you should be too because this year is shaping up to be the best service year division 16 has had in years! We will be working together and exchanging ideas so that, while still having complete freedom to do the projects that your club and your members are interested in, we’ll also have the unique opportunities and advantages that come about when having more people helping, thinking, and talking to one another. Throughout this special edition of “Jared’s Journal” you will learn about many methods which will keep our division close and our service year great!
As Lieutenant Governor I have a few responsibilities, the most important of which is helping your club with whatever you need. Some of my other responsibilities include helping to organize and run the New Jersey District of Key Club International, getting people excited and passionate about service, and of course participating in service myself. Please use me as a resource for the upcoming year, I’ll be able to help you with almost anything you need and will work tirelessly to see that your club, and our division succeed this year.
A “division” is a collection of Key Clubs in the area.
Be proud, you are a part of division 16, one of the best divisions around! Division 16 consists of the Key clubs of, Hasbrouck High school, Memorial High school, Tenafly High school, North Bergen High school, Fort Lee High school, ECLC of Ho Ho Kus, and Secaucus High school. This year you’ll get to learn a little more about our division, but if you have any questions just give me a call.
Rosters
Included in this mailing is a blank roster. Please fill out the roster as completely as possible and send it to me within a week of when you received the mailing. If you would prefer you can also e-mail me the information at Jaredltgdivision16@gmail.com.
Rosters are vital because they allow me to keep your club and your officers in the loop. Whether it’s a trip to Six Fags or a huge divisional fundraiser, you wouldn't want to miss it due to a simple lack of communication!
Communication Staying in touch is the best tool we have in our arsenal. It will ensure not only a better service year of fundraising and community service but also a year filled with fun. By staying in touch and connected our division can work together, become friends, and share ideas. Luckily communication is not only effective, but it is easy too! You can call me, shoot me an e-mail, or even send me a text. Talk to me if you’re ever having trouble with your club, want some advice on a service project, or you want your club, officer, or event to be featured in my next newsletter!
Club Visits One fun way to keep in touch and stay connected is through club visits. If your Key Club is having a meeting or event coming up let me know and I’ll try to come. Just contact me and let me know when and where. Visits are the best form of communication that we can have together because rather than virtual interaction I get to see you in person and observe all the great things your club is up to. I can also bring with me resources, help you with various ceremonies, and make your lives altogether easier. I can also speak to your clubs about exciting new things happening with Key Club in general.
