Official Newsletter of Joseph Bonaccorso

Bonaccorso Ledger Greetings Dear Kiwanis Family and Advisors, Hello my name is Joseph Bonaccorso and I will be serving as the District 13 Lieutenant Governor for 2010-2011 service year. I am very excited to be working along side all of you! It is a great honor and privilege to serve the New Jersey District of Key Club International as a Lieutenant Governor. I want to start of by promising my full commitment to my duties as a Lieutenant Governor. Key Club is my utmost priority and I will be a perfectionist when it comes to doing my work for Key Club. To all the advisors, club officers and fellow members of the state board I want to stress the point that I want this year to be fun and effective at the same time. In order for this goal to be fulfilled communication and friendship needs to be established. My email is jbonaccorso2@aol.com, my cell phone number is 848-219-2319, and I can also, be found on Facebook. I’m totally committed to my duty as LTG, so you can contact me at anytime. I would love to hear all your questions, comments, and concerns. I’m also, open to criticism. If you want me to change how I am doing something feel free to tell me. To the club advisors and club officers one thing I ask of you is for you all to think of me as coach not as a boss. I want to coach each club officer to their utmost potential while having fun. In addition, I would appreciate it if the club advisors could send me updated rosters for the new service year. Rosters are vital because periodically I will be contacting club officers with dates of inter divisional events, meetings, and training programs. Moreover, I plan on attending club meetings for each club in the division, so please contact me with the dates of your meetings. With all that being said let’s make this the best service year that the New Jersey District has ever seen! Your Friend in caring and service, Joseph Bonaccorso

Time to Pack Your Bags….I-Con is around the Corner! The summer is right around the corner! And with the summer comes Key Club’s annual International Convention, this time in the historic Memphis, Tennessee! This year, Key Club International has put together an amazing Convention, and the District is planning yet another tour to go along with it! ICON is a one week convention that drew over 1500 Key Club members , advisors, and administrators last year. During your time in Memphis, you’ll have the opportunity to meet new people, share Key Club Experiences, and leave with a new best friend. You’ll also get a taste of the various caucuses, workshops, elections, and delegations that make Key Club successful and make you a better Key Clubber. The New Jersey District will travel to Memphis by bus, leaving New Jersey on the morning of July 4th, and returning on the evening of July 12th. On the road to ICON, we will stop at many points of interest, including Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, Graceland, and the Civil Rights Museum. At ICON, the festivities begin with a private concert by Ohio poprock superstars Relient K, and continue with appearances by such celebrities as Clay Aiken and Josh Hutcherson! It will truly be a week to remember. Anyone interested in division 13 attending, please contact me ASAP for more information (including a primer and registration form), as the first payment is due by May 15th. If money is an issue, feel free to ask your Kiwanis Club to help you out with the costs. They would be glad to help!

D-Con Recap District Convention was a huge success this year! I have to give a special shout out to the State Board of the 2009-2010 service years. They did a stellar job of preparing all of the events that comprised the wonderful convention in King of Prussia Pennsylvania. This year’s attendance surpassed the attendance of last year’s convention. With that being said a special thank you to all of the key clubbers that were able to attend. The convention had informative workshops that taught the key clubbers excellent techniques on how to adequately hold office positions or just how to be a better member in general. All of the LTG’s from the past service year did an excellent job of organizing the workshops. The convention wasn’t all work though. There were two dances. One dance required formal attire and the other was a casual dance. Both dances proved to be big hits because the attendees had a great time letting loose on the dance floor. Also, at District Convention there was a talent show. During this talent show key clubbers expressed their talents to their peers. A lot of talent performers came out of the wood work to put on a great show. In addition, the food that was served was excellent and a wide variety of cuisine was available. On Sunday morning a special event was held in the parking lot. A benefit walk for Children’s Specialized Hospital took place. This walk raised a large sum of money for a great cause and key clubbers had a lot of fun giving back to those in need. The proceeds of the walk were given to a Children’s Specialized Representative later in the day. To end the District Convention a special ceremony was held on Sunday. During the ceremony the State Board of the 2009-2010 service years were retired and this years State Board was sworn in. All in all the District Convention turned out to be a huge success for the New Jersey District of Key Club international.
