Bonaccorso Ledger Key Leader Do you have a desire to improve your leadership? Do you want to want to make new friends with similar interests as you? What if I told you that both of these will happen in the same weekend? This isn’t a lie; I’m talking about Key Leader Weekend! Key Leader is run by Kiwanis International with the mission of providing a “life-changing experience that inspires young people to achieve their personal best through service leadership.” The weekend is designed to kick-start a lifelong process of personal leadership growth and development. The program focuses on leadership in three communities: the local community, the state/national community, and the global community. It is a highly esteemed program in New Jersey and its greatness is directly related to the high remarks of our District on the national level. This year, Key Leader will be held Friday, December 10th through Sunday, December 12th at Camp Lebanon in Lebanon New Jersey. It is open to student’s grades 9-12 from any town. There are no restrictions on the number of attendees from any school, nor do you have to be a Key Clubber to attend. Registration is $175 for all Key Club members, which includes a $25 grant from the Kiwanis International Foundation, and $200 for any non-member. Register by October 15th to ensure your spot in the program. Speak to your Lieutenant Governor about how to sign up or if you have any questions – they’re more than ready to help! See you there!

In this issue! Key Leader

I-Con Recap.

International Convention proved to be an experience like know other. The New Jersey District Board spent a whole week traveling to various locations that were all unique in their own right. The first location was Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio. The rides in the park proved to be an unforgettable experience. Later in the week we traveled to Memphis for the international convention. Key Clubbers from all over the world were in attendance. Special Quest speakers also were vital to the ambience. Moreover, Reliant K put on an amazing performance. Elections were intense to say the least. Candidates from all over the world competed for the coveted spots that Key Club international has to offer. All in all the experience proved to be once in a lifetime for me. I learned so much in workshops and also had a great time!
