Regional Training Conference

On May 23 the Spring Northern Jersey Regional Training Conference took place at Morris Knolls High School. It was an exciting and informative day for all! Between presentations and workshops every attendee exited the doors of Morris Knolls High School with such an amazing amount of knowledge and advice with which to enhance, improve, and initiate their service years. With the amazing workshops everyone was sure to return home with a huge amount of tips and information with which to improve your own Key Club. While there were more than a hundred attendees at Spring North RTCs, not many of them were from our division, Division 16. Well no need to worry! Since there are More RTCs in the Spring you’ll still have a chance to attend! And don’t forget, attendance at the spring RTC’s is Mandatory for all club officers.

Here are the dates and locations for the upcoming RTCs. I’ll see you there! September 19th at (South) Central Regional High School Spetember 25th at (Central) Millburn Senior High School September 26th at (North) J.P. Stevens High School

Message from the Editor

Dear Club President, Hello! My name is Nicole Darrah, and I am your District Editor for the 20102011 service year! As Editor, it is my main task to publish three issues of our Key Club District’s official publication, The Jersey Key. Within the Key, there are articles written by District Board members, K-Family members, as well as any Key Clubber! I asked the District Board of Trustees to write articles about certain things pertaining to their job. I’d like to extend this to New Jersey’s finest: all Key Club members! The first issue of The Jersey Key is sent out in the beginning of September. If you wish to write an article about anything going on in your club, please feel free to send it to me by the article deadline, July 19th. As I was looking through past Jersey Key’s, I noticed a previous Editor added an “Outstanding Member” section. They chose one Key Clubber out of the entire District and put a spotlight on them! I hope to do this, but change it up a bit by also adding an “Outstanding Advisor” section. These awards to be published in the first issue of the Key this fall, must need a nomination. Any advisor or student can nominate someone for the “Outstanding Member” or “Outstanding Advisor” award. Nominations go as follows: Outstanding Member/Advisor Name: Club: Grade: Offices held/hold, if any: Give one word to describe this outstanding leader: In one sentence, what makes this leader stand out above all other Key Club leaders? In another sentence, why is this leader an outstanding member or advisor? Your name: Please send all nominations to my email address, editor@njkeyclub.org. Also, all photography, artwork, or written work, are due on the same day articles are due: July 19th! I’d love to hear from you! Yours in Caring and Service, Nicole Darrah, District Editor

Club Monthly Report Forms & End of the Year Surveys

CMRF’s

End of the year surveys End of the year surveys are quick surveys about your past service year. They are painless and you only have to fill one out a year. It is very important that you fill out this survey though, because it allows us to improve the district and your club individually. An end of the year survey is not only attached in this e-mail, but is also attached to the back of this newsletter. Simply fill it out and mail it or e-mail it to Rachel Orbach, the District Governor.

First of all, what are club monthly report forms? Well, Club Monthly Report Forms, or CMRF’s, are due by the 10th of each month. They are a quick and painless way to make sure that your club is active so that the district is able to focus on problem clubs while still giving you the help and resources you need. How do I fill out CMRF’s? It is the responsibility of your club secretary to fill out the CMRF’s. Simply have your club secretary go to http://njkeyclub.org/resources/cmr f , fill out the form, and then send it to Kevin Sun, the District Secretary at secretarysun@gmail.com, your Lieutenant Governor. Me! at Jaredltgdivision16@gmail.com, our Zone administrator, Stephen Gandley atstephen.gandley@verizon.net, and you club's Advisor. It only takes a few minutes and it can help all of us work together to build a stronger, more united Division 16.
