GAP ASSISTANT PROGRAMME 2021 NORTH LONDON COLLEGIATE SCHOOL JEJU NLCS Jeju is looking for adventurous, energetic, ambitious young people to join our team of committed and innovative staff. As a Gap Assistant, you will gain experience of working in an educational setting, work with inspiring young people and be immersed in a boarding environment at a prestigious international school. Successful applicants will have an interest in education and actively seek challenging opportunities to develop their leadership, academic and interpersonal skills.


Introduction to NLCS Jeju North London Collegiate School Jeju is a large, thriving co-educational Day and Boarding school for students aged 4-18. We provide a highquality British Independent School education in an international setting. The school is set in one of Asias most beautiful and spectacular locations. Jeju Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site 130 km off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, is often described as one of Asias best kept secrets. With its temperate climate, stunning natural scenery, array of rare and endangered wildlife and picturesque beaches, it is a fascinating and breathtaking environment in which to live.

The Nature of the Gap Programme Living in a rent-free, en-suite studio flat within a Boarding Home on the school campus, you will support the boarding staff in the pastoral care of a group of boarders. We have a wide range of opportunities for Gap Assistants, including in Sport, Art, Music, Drama and Dance as well as EAL and other academic departments. The Gap Assistant Programme runs from the beginning of August 2021 until the end of June 2022.


Job Description You will have free time every weekday morning and most of your commitments during the school day are voluntary, but you will work in the afternoons and evenings and at weekends. You also have one full day off per week. Specific responsibilities may vary depending on each individuals skills and interests, but will include: Boarding Duties and Prep Time House Competitions and Trips Co-curricular & Bryant Support Departmental Time

Monthly salary of 1,140,000 KRW. Free accommodation. National Health Insurance. Free meals - three per day during term time only. Flights to Jeju at the beginning of the programme and back to your country of residence at the end. • Use of school facilities (including music studios, art studios, swimming pool, and sports facilities) when they are not occupied by students. • Training and development opportunities usually only available to teaching staff.
