I’m truly honored to serve as the future House Captain of Geomun. Having been a part of Geomun for the past four years, I have learned and matured in various ways. I feel it's now time to give back to the house that has made me. I appreciate this great opportunity, and I will do my best to lead Geomun in even better ways. Thank you.
It’s an honour to step into the role of House Captain, and I’m genuinely excited for what lies ahead. Geomun has been a huge part of my life over the past four years, and it’s shaped me in countless ways. Now, I’m ready to give back with everything I’ve got.
We’ve got a fantastic team this year, and I hope every one of you finds your place in it. Let’s support each other, challenge each other, and make this a year we’ll always remember.
GEOMUN New House Captains
No. 2
As we approach the end of another busy term, it's all change at the top for the House Leadership groups. The Year 11 House leaders are now coming to the end of their 12 months of leadership duty and are preparing to hand over to the 'next generation'. Applications, interviews, speeches and votes have now all been completed and I'm pleased to say that we have assembled a new leadership committee full of talent, passion and raw ability. This week we will finalise the exact nature of their individual roles and will then be ready to start the Summer term with a bang!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing House Leaders for all of their hard work this year, and wish them all the very best for their upcoming exams.

of Term Message
Youngjae (Collin) Seo - “It was such an honour to serve as 2024-2025 Geomun’s House Captain. To me House Captain position was a starting point and at the same time a period mark. It marked the beginning of my journey as a leader, where I learned the true meaning of teamwork, resilience, and dedication. At the same time, it serves as a period mark, finishing my life in Geomun. Everything was possible because of the support from entire Geomun house including all students and members of staff. Though I would no longer be in the House area every morning, I would still be the closest point of support. My time as House Captain has come to an end, but the lessons I’ve learned and the bonds we’ve formed will stay with me forever. Thank you, Geomun House, for an incredible journey—one that I will always cherish. Keep striving, keep believing, and most importantly, keep the spirit alive!
Jungseo Park - It has truly been an honour to serve as 2024–2025 Geomun’s House Captain. This position, Geomun House Captain position has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time here, not only because I was able to serve and represent all of you, but also because I’ve learned so much from each and every one of you in this process. Your spirit, your kindness, and your unwavering support have constantly inspired me to be better—not just as a captain, but as a person. Thank you for trusting me, for cheering each other on, and for showing what it means to be part of a house that feels like home. No matter where we go next, I’ll always carry Geomun’s energy and memories with me. Being your captain wasn’t just a role. It was a privilege I’ll never forget. Thank you for making this journey unforgettable. I’m so proud of what we’ve built together and even prouder to have been a part of it.

This term, Geomun competed in a number of events ranging from sports such as football to academic trivia quizzes. All of these events had one thing in common:it allowed students to work together to grow together as a team. All Geomuners put in 100% effort into each competition every Friday, supporting each other like family. This dedication resulted in many triumphs, including those in the house trivia and the house quiz. New students were encouraged to give their best effort while competing. This experience helped them build confidence and encourage growth.
By participating in these house competitions, students in Geomun were able to develop resilience, critical thinking, and communication skills. Furthermore, they were able to enjoy the events themselves. These house events also contributed to students' academic and physical development. Overall, Geomun was able to develop characteristics in this term.

This term the Year 8s experienced various house activities that allowed us to have stronger connections amongst ourselves and within Geomun. House competition activities helped the Year 7s and 8s to know each other better through planning and participating in the competition. Especially for swimming, despite last-minute team adjustments and fewer participants, we performed well with strong support from the house. Football brought wins, losses, and unexpected moments, but the experience helped bond us, consoling each other, laughing over silly mistakes, or celebrating successes. Overall, the house competitions in this term really raised the Year 8s’ Geomun spirit and a sense of community. Additionally, the digital detox activities boosted bonds amongst the tutor group as everyone was engaged in the activities, like basketball and UNO games, instead of using their laptops. We look forward to participating in future house events in Term 3!
GEOMUN Experiences from the Geomuners - Yr8s
G9A engaged in a fun and interactive activity every week called Pictionary. This game brings everyone together as they challenge their creativity and quick thinking through drawing and guessing. Each week, one student gets chosen to draw a random word. The one who guesses it gets to draw next. Through this year’s Year 9 activity, we have developed our creativity, and quick thinking, making our tutor time both entertaining and valuable.
G9B has tutor presentation every week that everyone gets to participate in. In this, two people pair up and give a presentation in an area they are interested in, sharing their knowledge and passion. Moreover, this year’s Year 9 activity taught us the importance of communication and critical thinking. Taking part in activities like maze-solving encouraged us to think quickly and adapt to new situations. These exercises required us to analyse problems from alternative perspectives, communicate clearly with our peers, and make quick reasonable decisions. Such skills are critical, not only in our academics but also in the real world where problemsolving and collaboration are vital. By developing these abilities, we can be more prepared for future challenges that require adaptability, and teamwork.

This term, Year 10 students have worked together with energy and enthusiasm to balance their academics with extracurricular activities and sports. Throughout various house competitions such as house games, basketball, and house swimming, students have been crucial in assisting each other and to develop confidence. The tutor group activities like riddle relay, gonggi and gartic phone we developed teamwork and motivation outside of competition. These events have strengthened their relationships and made school life more enjoyable and meaningful.
GEOMUN Experiences from the Geomuners - Yr10s
Accompanied by mock exams and house competitions, this term has been a demanding one for our Year 11 students. Yet, they have persevered with enthusiasm, demonstrating resilience despite their busy schedules. In particular, the House Leadership team has shown exceptional dedication, leading their houses with passion and commitment, inspired by past victories. Not to mention, the Year 11 boys along with the Year 10 boys managed to secure first place in the most recent House swimming competition. Through this experience, they have exemplified an outstanding teamwork spirit as cooperation and perseverance came together in pursuit of success. As another season of IGCSE exams approaches, we extend our best wishes to all Year 11 students for their upcoming assessments and hope their final year at Geomun is their most memorable and remarkable yet!
