Hello 2016! So much in store for the North Shore! Another year has come and gone and 2015 was very busy with many milestones and events that enriched the City of Kamloops. From January to December, there was so much to see, do and celebrate! In commemoration of the millionth animal that would be adopted in 2015, the BCSPCA launched their Million Acts of Kindness Campaign. It was a wonderful way to kick off the New Year and celebrate such a worthwhile organization. The 2015 Special Olympics BC Winter Games took place February 19 to 21. More than 600 athletes and 200 Volunteer staff came from all over the province. Many events were hosted on the North Shore at McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre. Earth Hour took place on March 28 and the City of Kamloops celebrated with a free double feature and donations for the Kamloops Food Bank were collected. McDonald Park was a most happening place throughout the summer months; yogi’s young and old enjoyed a weekly stretch in the sunshine with the help of Kamloops Hot Yoga. The North Shore Business Improvement Association hosted

Overlander’s Day on August 15. McDonald Park was overrun with live entertainment; the McDonald Park Outdoor Pool was free all day for kids. Guests of all ages enjoyed great weather, fun attractions and delicious food through the “Taste of North Shore” initiative.
