NORTON WAY WE ARE WLTP READY!
W
e have a vast range of WLTP stock ready to offer in September with many of our franchises. If you would like more information or to book a test drive please speak to Fiona, Belinda, Ellie or Joe on 01462 730630 or corporateteam1@nortonway.com
What is WLTP? WLTP stands for Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure and is the new laboratory test used to measure fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from passenger cars, as well as their pollutant emissions. The conditions are defined by EU law and replace the old NEDC test (New European Driving Cycle). This test was designed in the 1980s, and due to evolutions in technology and driving conditions, it became outdated.
The EU therefore developed a new test, the WLTP which uses real-driving data, gathered from around the world, which represents everyday driving profiles.
When will the WLTP Changes Take Place? Stage 1 – from September 2017. WLTP will officially apply to new types of cars from September 2017, these are vehicle models introduced on the market for the first time. Stage 2 – from September 2018. WLTP will apply to all new car registrations from September 2018. Stage 3 – EU measures for end-ofseries cars allow for a limited number of unsold vehicles in stock that were approved under the old NEDC test to be sold the following year, that is until September 2019.
