Charging your Honda hybrid car at home is a convenient and cost-effective way to ensure that you always have enough power for your daily commute and adventures. While public charging points can provide fast charging speeds, having the ability to charge at home gives you the flexibility to top up your battery overnight or whenever it's most convenient for you.
To speed up the charging process at home, you can consider upgrading your charging point. Most installers offer a range of charge point speeds, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs. For example, if you currently have a 3.7kW charging point, you could upgrade to a 7kW or higher. However, it's important to check your vehicle's innate charging time, as some models have their charge rates artificially set to prolong battery life.
On average, the cost of installing a home EV charger range from £400 to £1,000, including the cost of the charger itself and the installation fees. However, it's important to note that this is just a general estimate, and the actual cost may be higher or lower based on your specific circumstances.
Honda's commitment to electrifying its range of vehicles is evident in the exceptional hybrid cars they offer. With Honda's range of hybrid cars and the convenience of home charging, you can embrace a greener future without compromising on performance or style. Experience the innovation and excitement of Honda's hybrid technology and join the movement towards a more sustainable automotive industry.
MAZDA
As the automotive industry continues its shift towards sustainable mobility, Mazda Motor Corporation has taken a significant leap forward with the mass production of the European model of the MAZDA MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV.
As the automotive industry continues its shift towards sustainable mobility, Mazda Motor Corporation has taken a significant leap forward with the mass production of the European model of the MAZDA MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV. This marks Mazda's first mass-production rotary engine vehicle in 11 years, since the discontinuation of the Mazda RX-8 in 2012. With a focus on achieving carbon neutrality, Mazda's multi-solution approach is evident in the MX-30's unique plug-in hybrid design and environmentally-conscious materials.
The MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV is a trailblazing plug-in hybrid model that combines an 85 km battery electric driving range with a rotary engine that generates additional power to extend the driving distance. Mazda's dedication to reducing environmental impact is evident in the entire driving range being motor-powered. Introduced in 2020, the MX-30 is Mazda's first mass-production battery electric vehicle, expanding their product lineup to include both mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
Mazda's commitment to sustainability goes beyond the MX-30's powertrain. The design process of the MX-30 incorporated environmentally-conscious materials, such as cork and fabrics made from recycled materials, to create a comfortable interior that showcases their natural appeal. By adopting these materials, Mazda aims to reduce their environmental footprint throughout the production process and contribute to a greener future.
Mazda's dedication to sustainability extends to their production process for the MX-30. Through a series of initiatives, Mazda has successfully reduced energy use and CO2 emissions, further minimizing their environmental impact.
The MX-30's distinctive multi-tone paint design is
achieved through energy-saving initiatives in the painting process. Mazda has introduced a spray gun that precisely sprays areas where colours need to be applied separately, reducing paint loss. This precise control of the spray paint gun nozzle's distance from the body surface significantly reduces energy use compared to the multi-tone paint process on an ordinary line. Additionally, newly developed paints that harden at a lower temperature have been adopted, further reducing energy consumption. These efforts have resulted in a remarkable reduction in CO2 emissions, approximately 34% to 37% on an annual basis.
Mazda's Hiroshima Plant has implemented a solar power system that went operational in July 2021. With an output of 1.1 MW, this system not only charges the MX-30 EV models produced at the plant but also powers the newly-mass produced e-SKYACTIV R-EV for shipment. Furthermore, the solar power system supplies electricity used throughout the entire plant, making a significant contribution to the adoption of renewable energy.
Mazda's efforts towards reducing their environmental impact in the MX-30 production process are part of a broader commitment to achieving carbon neutrality. By 2050, Mazda aims to make their entire supply chain carbon neutral, contributing to a future where coexistence with the planet is harmonious.
With the mass production of the MAZDA MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV, Mazda has taken a significant step towards carbon neutrality. This plug-in hybrid model, combined with Mazda's dedication to incorporating sustainable materials and reducing environmental impact in the production process, showcases their commitment to a greener future. As Mazda continues its journey towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, their efforts serve as an inspiration for the automotive industry and a testament to their vision of coexistence with our beautiful plane

When it arrives later this year, the new PEUGEOT 208 will deliver:
PEUGEOT has updated the 208 and E-208 with a new design, new powertrains and technologies across both fully electric and petrol variants. The 208 was the best-selling car in Europe in 2022, with the new updates ensuring it will remain a favourite with buyers. Orders for the new 208 and E-208 will open in October 2023.
• More Allure with an irresistible sporty look featuring a new, more modern, PEUGEOT light signature.
• More Emotion with an enhanced digital PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® that boosts driving pleasure.
• More Excellence with electrification in its DNA and a new E-208, offering a range of 248 miles (under approval), new HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 engines and the latest generation of PEUGEOT infotainment systems.
The new PEUGEOT front light signature, which was first displayed on the 9X8 Hypercar, the new 508 and 508 SW, and more recently on the new 2008, is now present on the new 208 and E-208 as well. A distinguishing feature of this trademark
is the three long, vertical light claws, which are incorporated into the gloss black inserts on the bumper. The 208 now appears to be wider thanks to their relocation to the outside edge of the vehicle.
All new 208 versions have a completely redesigned front end that ushers the car into a new age of Peugeot design with the brand's new logo at its centrepiece. A changing body-color pattern on the grille has been extended into the bumper. The grille and body are now one piece rather than being divided into separate parts.
The new 208 horizontally arranges the brand's iconic rear light signature, which consists of three distinct red claws. They are made up of three stylish lines of LEDs that intersect the black strip across the boot lid, giving the car a dominating back view and giving the impression that it is wider. Reversing lights and indicators are also LEDs on GT models.
A standout feature of the new 208 is the new alloy wheel designs inspired by the new 408. The new designs include 16-inch ‘NOMA’ diamond-cut two-tone wheels for ALLURE trim and 17-inch ‘YANAKA’ diamond-cut two-tone wheels with inserts for GT. All alloy wheels feature a new four-spoke centre cap, prominently featuring the PEUGEOT shield which also neatly conceals the wheel bolts.
Excellence: Electrification taken to the next level
New E-208 models come with PEUGEOT’s new 115kW (156bhp) electric motor and 51kWh battery capable of up to 248 miles between charges (WLTP certification under approval).
A 7.4kW single-phase charger is supplied as standard on all E-208 models, while a three-phase 11kW charger is available as an option. A 20-80% charge is estimated to take less than 25 minutes when using a 100kW rapid charger, extending to 4hrs and 40 minutes when using a 7.4kW charger.
New hybrid powertrains: For the first time, the PEUGEOT 208 is offered with two new 48V hybrid powertrains that pair the most recent PureTech 100 bhp and 136 bhp petrol engines with an electric motor housed in the e-DSC6 dual-clutch, six-speed automatic transmission. This technology provides more torque at low revs and up to 15% less fuel usage thanks to a battery that recharges while you're driving. The new 208 HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 can operate in 100% zeroemission electric mode for more than 50% of the time while travelling in urban areas.

The characteristic double slats in the Skoda grille's bigger, more vertical design form a U-shape at the bottom. The vehicle's width is highlighted in the front apron by a painted area below the grille and an air intake, which are joined vby a robust silver diffuser that offers underbody protection. The rear diffuser is made up of a broad upper piece in black and a tough lower section in silver. MG is introducing a new rangetopping version of the MG4 with more power, improved handling and sportier styling.
The brand has revived the XPower name, which was created by MG Rover, in 2001, for its motorsport subsidiary.
The MG4 XPower is currently available for order and is priced starting at £36,495. It has a dual motor powertrain that produces 435PS and up to 600Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds thanks to it.

“We expect it will appeal to customers looking for a pure performance offering which is the antithesis of the traditionally ‘loud’ high performance hatchback. The XPower also retains the generous technology and equipment levels, as well as practical hatchback features, of the awardwinning MG4 range.”
Wednesday, 12th July was a special day for some very lucky people. 17 new owners of the Limited Edition CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP John McGuinness 100th Start Replica attended the Honda Racing Centre in Louth to pick up their new bike – from the man himself.
The limited-edition JMG 100th start Fireblade SP, which was unveiled at Motorcycle Live last year, was almost immediately sold out. Each new owner then received their very own JMG 100th start Fireblade SP, complete with a brand-new JMG signature buried away, following a tour of Honda's racing headquarters, some photo opportunities, and the opportunity to speak with a true TT icon. A tour of the spectacular Honda Racing facilities was also included in the day.
McGuinness has a long history with Honda at the TT with 80 starts out of a total 108. His first lap in the 130mph plus bracket was in 2007, with his best ever lap of 132.7mph recorded in 2015. During the 2023 TT his fastest lap was 131.183mph, during the last lap of the Senior. And one detail to note; out of a total 1433.74 miles covered over the 2023 event, 430 were at full throttle… still super-fast, after all these years.
John McGuinness MBE really enjoyed his day out in Louth:
“I’ve come away buzzing. The bike looks mega but what means even more to me are the people I’ve met today. Like I said from the start the Fireblade has meant a lot to me and the TT over the last 30 years. But what I’ve been reminded
about is that the TT is more than racing bikes. It’s the fans that come from all over, that make it the unique event it is. What a great feeling, to shake hands with the new owners of my 100th start Fireblade SP, hand over the keys and see something so special – to me, and them – roll out the race shop door. Awesome!”
Nicholas Taylor (number 2/30)
It’s been a day I’ve been looking forward to for some time. I own a few Fireblades and when this was launched at Motorcycle Live last year, I jumped straight in and paid my deposit hoping that I might be one of the lucky few to be picked. When I was told in December/January time that I’d be receiving number 2, I was absolutely delighted. I’m a big fan of John and enjoyed watching him at the TT and for him to be here whilst picking up this special Fireblade has simply made the day fantastic!
Rob Haywood (number 23/30)
Quite simply, I’m a massive Honda fan and had pretty much most of the Fireblades since 1992. I’m also a big TT fan, marshalled there for many years and have watched John since his first TT in 1996. As soon as the bike was launched, I had to have one. I specifically asked for number 23 which matches his current number of TT wins and to have him here, sign the bike and talk about his career and been absolutely awesome, what a day!
