Three New Electric Vehicles: Redefining Nissan's Lineup

With a firm commitment to sustainability, the company has announced that all three models produced at its UK plant will be 100% electric. This groundbreaking decision underscores Nissan's dedication to reducing carbon emissions, promoting renewable energy sources, and driving the electrification of the automotive industry.

Nissan's investment includes up to £1.12 billion into its UK operations and the wider supply chain. This funding will be utilized for research and development, manufacturing process improvements, skills training, and tooling for suppliers. The two newly announced models, along with the first future EV, represent the future for all three models currently manufactured in the Nissan Sunderland Plant.

The EV36Zero Hub: A Blueprint for Future Manufacturing

At the heart of Nissan's electrification strategy lies the EV36Zero hub in Sunderland, UK. This transformative project will consist of three electric vehicles (EVs), three gigafactories, and an investment of up to £3 billion. This investment will not only benefit Nissan's 7,000 UK employees but also support the 30,000 jobs within the UK supply chain. The EV36Zero Microgrid, powered by renewable energy sources such as wind and solar farms, will play a crucial role in the production of both vehicles and batteries. With the capability to deliver 100% renewable electricity to Nissan and its neighbouring suppliers, this microgrid ensures that the manufacturing process aligns with Nissan's commitment to sustainability.

Nissan Qashqai: Pioneering the Electric Crossover The Nissan Qashqai, the original crossover and the UK's best-selling car of 2022, will undergo a transformation into an all-electric vehicle. This move aligns with Nissan's commitment to providing sustainable mobility solutions while retaining the Qashqai's position as a market leader.

Nissan JUKE: A Rule-Breaking Compact Crossover Goes Electric

The Nissan JUKE, known for its rule-breaking design and popularity among urban drivers, will also embrace electrification. This compact crossover has sold over one million units worldwide and will now contribute to Nissan's electrified lineup.
