Qashqai improves efficiency with new 1.3 DIG-T Petrol

Nissan have brought a new level of performance, economy and connectivity to Europe's best-selling crossover - the Qashqai. The new ultra-efficient petrol engine platforms and infotainment system add more appeal to the model range.

The Qashqai's new 1.3 litre petrol engine is now on sale with a 140 PS and 160 PS power output. You can either pair the new engines with a six-speed manual gear box OR choose to go with the all-new 7-speed DCT automatic - both transmissions are paired to a front wheel drive system. Nissan explain that this new DCT platform gives the car a sportier feel with a greater standing start performance. As well as providing reduced fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions, this enhanced petrol powertrain line-up sets a new standard for drivability in the Qashqai. Customers will notice

NEW SKODA SCALA WHAT WE KNOW: ABOUT THE SKODA RAPID’S REPLACEMENT

koda are in the process of testing their replacement for the current Rapid, the all-new Skoda Scala. Scala comes from the Latin word meaning ‘stairs’ or ‘ladder’, according to the Czech brand this was chosen to represent the model will leap forward in design and technology. The major change for the new model is it will no longer be offered in two bodystyles like the Rapid, instead Skoda will only be focusing on the hatchback. The Skoda Scala will also be the first model to receive a new generation of interior with a focus on innovative features to match higher segments. It will also be the first European model to bear the Skoda name in lettering on the back instead of the logo, a move that Skoda has identified as appearing more upmarket. The model is expected to be released in December, but a prototype version is currently being driven by the world’s media. Autocar has reported “it’s a generous step up from it’s predecessor and will appeal to many hatchback buyers, thanks to its well-designed interior, advanced levels of technology and value for money, all of which will help give it an edge on its many rivals. The model is likely to take styling from the Skoda Vision RS prototype, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last month.

KIA New CEED Proceed and Niro Electric revealed Last month, Kia released three brand new models at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The shooting brake, all-new Kia Proceed, made its public debuted alongside new high-performance GT variants of the Ceed and ProCeed. The all-new Kia e-Niro also made its debut. Emilio Herrera, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Motors Europe, commented: “The new cars on display underline the level of ambition and design passion that defines Kia’s cars. The ProCeed offers buyers stunning and emotional design, the Ceed GT provides maximum driver engagement, and the e-Niro helps to break down the barriers to electric car ownership, making it easy, fun and reliable.” All of the new models will be sold with the company’s unique 7-year, 100,000-mile warranty as standard, it even convers the lithium-ion polymer battery in the e-Niro

Peugeot plug-in hybrid for 3008 and 508 In 2019, Peugeot will be launching plug-in hybrid versions of its 3008 and 508 models, with a zero-emission range of up to 30 miles. The models are expected to be available in the second half of the year and will pair electric motors with petrol engines. The engines: • 508 & 508 SW: PureTech 180PS engine and 110PS electric motor provide a combined maximum power of 225 PS, emitting less than 49g/km of C02 • 3008 SUV: More powerful Hybrid4 all-wheeldrive system, producing 300PS, allowing for 0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds. New driving modes will include the ZEV 100% electric mode, 4-wheel drive mode with the Hybrid4, Sport mode, Comfort mode or Hybrid mode. The vehicles will also conserve energy through the i-Booster, a braking system which produces saves power as the car brakes or decelerates, and e-SAVE, allowing drivers to reserve electric energy for planned routes ahead. The vehicles can be recharged in less than two hours by using a Wallbox (6.6 kW 32A). Laurent Blanchet, Peugeot product director, said: "The Peugeot Plug-in Hybrid engines are a unique opportunity for the brand to complement the powerful ranges of the 3008 SUV and the all-new 508 and 508 SW. They give our customers the opportunity to buy a powerful 3008 SUV AWD or a 508 that is efficient and provides improved sensations.”

MAZDA NEW MAZDA3 TO BE REVEALED AT THE LA MOTOR SHOW IN NOVEMBER.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE NEW MAZDA3

The current Mazda3 has been on the market since 2014 and Mazda are about to release a new generation at the Los Angles Auto Show in November. The next-gen Mazda3 will likely be very similar to the Kai concept, which was unveiled last year at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new Mazda3 will be the very first vehicle in Mazda’s new line-up of engine technology, SKYACTIV-X. The more-efficient 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-X engine, which will come as standard includes a technology called Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SCCI). Two other engines will be othered with the current SKYACTIV-G and SKYACTIV-D technology. It is expected full specification and pricing will be released after the L.A. Auto Show release.

NORTON WAY SUPPORT HATS ON 4 BEN CHARITY DAY On Wednesday 10th October 2018, Norton Way Group supported the 'Hats on 4 Ben' Charity Day with staff members donating and digging out their best hat to wear to work. The day was in support of World Mental Health Day and the staff raised £200 for the charity.
